UPDATE - I reached out to Zing Zang. They were very concerned this store is selling potentially bad product and will be reaching out to BevMo this morning. They are also sending me a replacement bottle of the bloody Mary mix since the seller refused to do anything about it. Bev needs to take a lesson from the manufacturer in customer service. ---------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW- Went in and bought a bottle of zing Zhang. Came home to make a bloody Mary. I shook the bottle as I always do since the spices always settle at the bottom. As soon as I open the lid, it made a pop sound and the contents started bubbling and spilling all over my counter. It also smells weird. The item does not show that it's expired however, something is definitely wrong with this bottle because it's bad. It smells horrible. I immediately called the store to see if I could do an exchange. A man answered the phone and had no clue what to do with this issue so he put me on hold for five minutes. Whoever finally picked up the phone immediately hung up on me. I called back and spoke to Chris. He said unfortunately since I had opened it, they couldn't refund my money. I said it's bad, you can smell it and tell it's bad. He said yeah unfortunately you won't get your money back because you opened it. I said so you're selling bad product on your shelf and you basically don't care. He said well that's our policy and I can't refund your money since you opened it. Real rocket scientist here. Doesn't even have enough common sense to figure out you can't see if something's bad until you open it. I asked to speak to his manager and he said we don't have any managers here. I guess BevMo is a lot more desperate for seven dollars than I am. That also answers the question of why the store was basically empty. This is why I go to total Wine and More because they have a much better selection of product and they actually provide quality customer service. This is my last time at BevMo ever. I just hope no one else buys this product and drinks it without realizing it's bad and get sick. If so, then BevMo will be responsible for food poisoning over a seven dollar bottle of tomato juice. I'm going to call Zing Zang in the morning and let them know just in case it was a bad batch. This way they can put out a recall. Was visiting my cousin, who lives in this area and decided to stop and get a bottle with some beer before I went. But of course I had to pee, and they had the restrooms in the back, open. Well I was looking for a Jameson bottle but I couldn't find it. So I searched for help, but seemed like the employees that were working, were on their phones. The cashier was probably the only one working bcuz she had a line. Well I finally found it after listening to about 3 of the songs they had on the radio. At least the music wasn't bad and they let me use the restroom! Oh they had these truly freezable like bolis hahaha and I asked the cashier if she'd tried them. She just laughed and said no. Yikes! I used to like BevMo but since the acquisition by Go Puff, BevMo now stocks grocery items. Yes, sir, if you need toilet paper or laundry detergent to go with that nice bottle of Cabernet you can now do that at BevMo. The aisles are closer together to accommodate date all the grocery items. And there's a temporary line that forces the shopper to move through the grocery aisles first. Hate to tell you Go Puff, I don't visit BevMo for fabric softner. I visit to purchase wine, beer, alcohol and mixers. I highly recommend moving the grocery items to the warehouse in the back of the store and recreate the original BevMo experience. So I strayed away from my normal food postings based on the recent experience I've had with this BevMo location in particular as I figured it'll feel nice to spread some nice words during such an unsettling time. It's no news that the pandemic has certainly made drinkers out of just about all of us so certainly BevMo is an adult wonderland when it comes to needing that drop of liquid courage to aid in a drama free morning/noon/night. Bless you. Haha! Between the imported alcohol and good ol' fashioned down home moonshine it's safe to say any whistle will be wet after window shopping the many aisles of goodies. Partnered with a BevMo membership card and safe to say you'll come out with something you didn't plan for yet enjoy (like I did). What I love above anything is the upbeat nature of the staff. Between store pick ups and general browsing since March their customer service is amazing. They're always so helpful and the level seems so genuine and far from robotic. They take immense pride in making sure you are well on your way to an enjoyable place. There are times when I think maybe prohibition should've won, but with amazing yet affordable drinks and the staff to supply it superbly well perhaps "another round" won't end breaking bones after all. I went into this store thinking they would at least match grocery store pricing . Forget that ! Svedka Vodka was $1.50 more and Schweppes soda for $2.49 . As there low priced option. When I asked the manager she showed me 4 other brands that were all more expensive. Though supposedly specializing in beverages they forgot about any value. DOMINIC So overall this place has increasingly gotten more horrible within the past two years, but especially within the past six to twelve months. I believe management has switched hands a few times, but it seems to be going from bad to worse. The mobile app has not been working so I cannot place orders to pick up. As a work around, they accommodated my order (I usually buy an entire case at a time of foreign ale) so I can just go in for a quick pick up and transaction. However, they have more frequently stopped doing that and tonight somebody (Dominic) even tried to claimed that this was "against store" policy. When I have brought this trend to the attention of management in the past, they apologized and claimed that they can some times get busy, not that it was against store policy. However, every time I go into the store, I always see cashiers on their phones or workers just standing around talking to each other and there are never long lines, so I am not sure how "busy" they ever really are as much as lazy or just don't want to be bothered. On one occasion, I walked in to inquire about a unique alcoholic cider I used to buy a long time ago. I went to the elevated "booth" that is next to the registers. Dominic was in the booth as well as the assistant manager (I don't know his name) who was on the side of it. When I asked my question, the assistant manager looked to Dominic for a response. Dominic talked to him not to me even though I was right in front of him. He said, "oh we don't carry many ciders, but if we do it might be down this aisle and make a left." If you have been to this store, you know that is not much help, as the category of beverages changes throughout each aisle. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I went on a wild goose chase but of course could not find it. When I went back to the booth and asked again, Dominic proceeded to just give the same directions. It took the assistant manager to physically walk me over in the general direction, but still not actually take me to the section. Dominic couldn't have been more dismissive, unprofessional, apathetic, and out right rude. In fact, I am not even sure he was on shift at the moment, as it seemed he may have just be there taking care of something on his off time. Either way, if you are going to be in the store as a worker and somebody asks you about a product....well, you get the idea. Although the assistant manager walked me part of the way to the section of the store I was looking for, he wasn't much more help. Also, Dominic is the one who claimed that it was against store policy to not put together an order for pick up. If he is going to claim to adhere to some so-called store policy, he should also be trained in and adhering to some basic customer service and professionalism. Overall, this used to be my "spot" to pick up my weekly/bi-weekly case of ale. Oh not to mention, every year I usually drop another FEW HUNDRED dollars on Johnnie Walker blue label as a December/winter/holiday treat to myself. However, I am looking for another spot, as this place has become so horrible. It's sad, because I have been coming here since pre-covid when they had wine tastings and the workers were actually really cool. They would talk to you and made you feel like a friend stopping buy for a drink. Now, there is just a culture of apathy and rudeness. I will get a kick out of management's response to dismiss this review and simply say, "Please contact us at customerservice@bevmo.com when convenient." This is consistent with how they don't really care about customer feedback and why things are as bad as they have become. read more

Customer service sucks at BevMo!!! I'm not shopping at any location ever again!!! I live 5 minutes away from this location but I'd rather wait til I'm in Rancho Cucamonga and shop at Total Wine!! Before I drove to BevMo I called to make sure that they price matched with total wine. The woman who answered the phone unequivocally said "yes we do price match." Great! I hopped in my car and drove there. When I arrived I grabbed the 1.75 L bottle of gentleman Jack Daniels and proceeded to the counter to check out. I told the clerk that I was requesting a price match, showed him total wine's website (the price is $34.99, BevMo $39.99) and he asked if I I had a BevMo member phone number. After checking to see if I had the BevMo rewards thing, (the first way they try to avoid matching) he said okay and that he had to grab the manager. She walks over and asks to see the price on my phone. She looked at it for less than two seconds and said "No, sorry I can't do that!" After going back and forth with her on how other locations have matched this same order and this location's match policy (which is manager discretion) I realized she wasn't going to budge. So I stormed off very upset. This isn't the only reason why I'm never shopping at BevMo again. Today was just the last straw. Reason #1 Customer experience is important. Most of the workers I've encountered at BevMo locations don't know squat about adult beverages. As if they're just there to punch a clock. Whether it's beer, wine, or bourbon, you can have a full blown conversation at Total wine about its origin, best bang for the buck, customer favorites etc . NOT AT BevMo. You can ask a basic craft beer question and they won't be able to hold a conversation. Reason #2 The craft beer selection and refrigerated beer selection is limited and disappointing at times. Reason #3 Closing at 9pm on Friday and Saturday is lame. Total wine stays open an extra hour, 10pm Reason #4 Recently at this location, they had customers lined up outside to promote social distancing. While standing in line, OUTSIDE mind you, I had some jerk barking at me to put my mask on. I scoffed at such a ridiculous request. Then he proceeded to tell me that I would be removed from the line if I didn't comply. WTF! Reason #5 on my 30th birthday my Drivers license expired. When I went to BevMo It had only been expired 5 days. This BevMo employee refused to let me checkout. Excuse me but a drivers license is needed to drive a vehicle and provide proof of identity. It's not a license to buy alcohol. I tried to reason with them but they wouldn't budge. It all boils down to CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. At BevMo it's either a wham bam get in and get out type of experience or a bad experience for me. I'm sorry for the long review. But if you made it this far, here's my recommendation. GO TO TOTAL WINE! Hahahaha If you don't live near a total wine store and ABSOLUTELY need something, consider Costco, Stater Brothers, Food 4 Less, or perhaps Target or Walmart. But if you're desperate and forced to shop at BevMo, don't expect employees to chit chat with you about products, don't expect any wiggle room if there's an issue, and don't expect the widest selection. On 12/09/2018 my goddaughter and I visited this location looking for a bottle of tequila and one cigar for a Christmas gift exchange. The sales associate; Arianna was extremely helpful. We were looking for a particular cigar that Bev Mo did not sale. But, Arianna selected a cigar that was comparable. She even took the time to go through what she had and selected the most freshest. Wine and Dine!!!! After tasting some sweet wine from LA Craft a few months back, I knew I had to get my own bottle! After all, who doesn't like some sweet, dessert wine? So after doing some research, I found the exact wine, bottle and all, on the BevMo! website! Woo hoo! So I came to this BevMo! which is located in a shopping center consisting of Kohl's, Target, and Toys R Us (etc), and made my way to the wine aisle. Being the wine novice I am, I thought I'd have a hard time figuring out where to go. No fear! The aisles are nicely labeled: red wine, white wine, dessert wines, and on and on the list goes. Perfect! I'd like to issue a small disclaimer before you read on... This is the only BevMo location I have ever been to. Good, now that we got that out of the way, let's begin. The selection here is pretty vast, but I still at times find myself unable to locate particular liquors or beers. I have yet to figure out if that is because they don't carry them or I am just bad at playing hide and seek with my booze. If you know me then you know that I HATE to ask for help with anything. This includes locating my liquor (I know it's rather sad). Apart from the beverages they carry a pretty random assortment of drinking accessories and munchies. I have used this store as my one stop Christmas shopping for the past 2 years running! Who does't want booze in their stockings!? (A sadist, that' who) Anyway, the few times I have gotten help the person who was assisting me also made a point to show me deals on similar items which really ended up saving me a ton of money! I recommend their membership card. It's also helped lower the cost of a few items for me. All in all, a good store. My husband and I came here while running to a New Years Eve party. For the sake of speed, I left my purse in the car, my husband was purchasing and had his ID, why should I need mine? We get to the register and the cashier asks for my ID after my husband had already paid. This is store policy, not law, but how about you card everyone before they walk in the door if you're going to be so exclusive? And how about you check my ID BEFORE we pay for the alcohol. If we felt it wouldn't have taken forever to issue a refund we would have left. No other BevMo has carded me unless I'm purchasing or consuming alcohol. Come on. I understand not letting me carry it out of the store, or paying for the alcohol or using someone else's ID, but you sell alcohol....so sell the damn alcohol. Obviously, I had to run back to my car to get my ID. A simple "are you 21 or older" would have sufficed. Will I not be sold alcohol if I run in with my kids or younger siblings? It's not my fault the cashier had to work on New Years Eve, don't be pissed at me because you got the crap shift. She was very high and mighty about it too, if she'd offered a sympathetic "I'm sorry, it's store policy, I have to ask" I probably wouldn't have been so irritated. They're just trying to cover their ass on a high risk night, but don't take pleasure in inconveniencing your customers. The newest Assistant Store Manager (get it girl!) makes the experience so enjoyable. She has built a relationship with her customers that is above and beyond what the position calls for (we always thought she was already a manager). So far I have been impressed with this Bevmo location. It is nicer than the one near Orange, CA and seems a lot bigger also. The employees are very nice! One thing I really like about Bevmo is their policy about returning a product If you do not like it, I am not sure if that goes for all products or only wine. Another thing that I wish Bevmo in general would do more is that 5 cent sale where you can pick two different bottles, it has been a long time since I have seen that. My last point that I wanted to make is that a lot of times the wines that you see online won't be at this particular location, which can be annoying. read more

I enjoy going to BevMo off Cajalco, they have great customer service. Their employees are always eager to help. That is the best part of it. The prices are ok. The selection has diminished. ***This BevMo! seems to have everything for your entertaining needs from a great variety of beers, wines and spirits to lots of core cocktail ingredients like bitters and agave nectar to make from scratch cocktails; still, there were some areas for improvement--their variety of barware accessories seemed limited, there didn't appear to be much variety of ginger beer even though that is a popular ingredient right now and some of their mini liquor bottles, which make great stocking stuffers (for adults of course), were quite pricey; service was friendly and maybe future visits may deliver more rewarding and good value experiences because there are several pluses here*** This BevMo! is located in a retail plaza that has its own free parking lot; the parking lot is big and it is easy finding an open space. read more

Typical "mini Total Wine" sterile setup, odd things in the fridge that shouldn't be and IPAs that should be in the fridge languishing on the shelf. Stone, Lagunitas, Ballast Point, Firestone Walker, usual suspects of their core lineup. Not a lot of smaller or new breweries stocked. No special releases. Half and half California locals with stale macro junk from a variety of countries. Eh, El Cerrito is across the street practically, which makes this BevMo obsolete for beer nerd types. read more
