After making a purchase totaling over $200, I requested $5 in cash back. I exited the store and realized within approximately two minutes that I had not received the cash, at which point I immediately returned to the register. The associate, Michelle, refused to provide the cash back and incorrectly stated that the amount had been applied to my purchase, despite the fact that my transaction was already fully paid using two separate forms of payment. Both Michelle and the on-duty manager were unprofessional and appeared unable to properly interpret the receipt or resolve a straightforward transaction issue. The situation was handled poorly, and I was spoken to in a dismissive and discourteous manner. This experience reflects a clear need for additional training in transaction procedures, customer service, and basic professionalism. Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain the manager's name at the time. However, due to the unacceptable treatment I received, I contacted corporate, who confirmed that I am owed the cash back. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to this location, and I do not recommend it to others It's one thing to make a mistake. It happens to everybody makes mistakes, but as a customer service associate myself, you own your mistakes. Your apologize, and fix your mistakes. read more

OMG and WOW all in the same breath! I was super-amazed by the size and magnitude of this Stater Brothers. I have never been to a Stater Brothers like this one in my life. I came here for eggs only, but I had to take a stroll through the bakery, deli, sushi bar (Yes, they have a sushi bar! First time ever right here in the high desert!), meats, seafood, dairy, wine sections plus the wide a** aisles (I love it!). This Super Stater Brothers store was bright, clean, and well stocked. My eyes were literally in AWE. I was in Stater Brothers heaven! LOL I had to quickly come back down to earth and focus on the reason why I am here... the eggs LOL. There were several options... cage free or not cage free, organic or not organic, white or brown, large or extra large... what do I choose? Drum roll please... large brown cage free non organic is our winner! LOL Staff was super friendly and nice. Service was quick. Lots of checkout lanes. Yeah, I'll have to make a special trip just to admire this Super Stater Brothers even more in the near future. As Arnold says, I'll be back!!! LOL Btw, just a suggestion, maybe throw in some tables and chairs near the sushi bar, deli, and bakery for customers to have a quick bite here. =) read more

I always enjoy going to Stater Brothers but lately service and cashier attitudes have been horrible. Shopping for groceries is enjoyable until it comes to checkout, then it all goes down hill. I see why this stater brothers market is rated at two. Just about every time we go in there we search and search for good apples only to have the bagger, drop them into the bag and hear them clump down as this will bruise them. And just about every time we get our green leaf lettuce, they put that at the bottom of the bag and put heavy objects on top such as pineapple or other heavy objects, just a crush the green leaf lettuce. It would be nice if management would train the baggers to treat the produce gently. We feel rude, telling the bagger to please place the green leaf lettuce on top only to get a weird look from them. Wait a second. I was scrolling through the reviews on yelp for Stater Bros and this Stater Bros in particular and I was shocked at the low ratings and low stars. Stater Bros is my favorite go to grocery store in the HD. Look, I know I'm not going to save a lot of money at Stater Bros, unless I'm buying steak on sale, but I also know I'm not going to wait in a line that is a mile long because there is only 3 registers open. Nope, not at Stater Brothers. They'll keep opening registers until they are all open. Now, speaking of steak... Stater Bros wins. I have a family of 6 and we like to eat steak. Now, I'm not so full of myself that I have to eat Wagyu Beef or Prime Cuts, some choice Porterhouse on sale for $4.99 a lb will do us just fine and Stater always runs deals like this. I'm also Italian from back east and I like my Italian cold cuts like Capicola (Gabagool), Mortadella, and Salami. They always have it. I don't shop exclusively at Stater Bros because frankly there is many choices and if you shop you know that you'll find deals elsewhere and I look for deals. Regardless of what is on the home page, masks are not required and the employees I saw weren't wearing masks. It appears to be personal preference at this time, as it should be. I like the ready to eat prepackaged food items. I don't like the adult male loitering in the parking lot and around the front of the store, near the entry/exit door. He was carrying what looked like a window washing tool. Tonight at approximately 7:50 pm, he was walking around vehicles in the parking lot. He walked up to vehicles with people inside and appeared to be talking to them. He also hit up a guy walking through the lot and appeared to talk to him. The guy came out of the store later and handed him something. He also stood near my vehicle for several minutes staring at me. I think he was waiting for me to get out so he could talk to me. It sure looked like the guy was panhandling in the parking lot. Stater Bros should have uniformed security guards in the parking lot and inside the store. The are many loiterers and panhandlers in the area and have been for decades. Stater Bros should step up and make efforts to improve the safety and security of both customers and employees. read more

This is one of our biggest and nicest stores in the high desert. It is always very clean, well organized and stocked up. I'm not sure exactly about customer service I don't come here often enough to even really notice. The only thing I can really say that this store has never made me feel out of place, others have and it is an uncomfortable feeling of not belonging in the store not sure why. read more

I am a Von's shopper and I love our local Von's, but I have to admit that I come to Stater Bros for the bakery. I have always loved the cakes and the adorable things they offer daily on their bakery. If you need to find something special last minute they will have something that looks like a million dollars, but only costs you a few. My nephew had a birthday during the week AMD nobody thought to order him a cake. Auntie to the rescue. I ran to Stater Bros and found adorable sesame street cupcakes for $1.50 each. He loved them and everyone thought I got them at a speciality shop. When you do order your items ahead they will listen to all your needs and make sure you have exactly what you want. I have two boys and they like to pick abnormal party themes. My cakes have always matched and I've always been happy. The rest of the store is just so so and normally the employees can be annoying. The produce is often terrible, literally rotten, sometimes furry fruits and vegetables on the shelves. When they don't have rotten produce, the items only tend to last a few days before they do go rotten. Seems like they get old stock to sell from their suppliers. One very annoying scam is the bags. First they say they have to charge us for the thicker "reusable" bags to "protect the environment". Now they say we can't reuse them and need to pay for new ones, "due to COVID", which is a total crock. If you don't want to use the bag I paid for and want to reuse fine, but don't try to SELL me what I already have and paid for. read more

This Stater Bros does a super job of competing with all the Super Targets and Walmart Supercenters opening up. It took over the old Albertsons space, and it has EVERYTHING. Full service everything - deli, floral, bakery, hot food, seafood, self-serve coffee.... Everything. There is even a counter to order freshly made guacamole, ceviche, and aguas frescas, which is great if you don't want to drive all the way to the Vallarta market. Freshly fried, delicious tortilla chips too... the good kind where the grease almost seeps through the bag. It's a very pretty, well set-up store, and so clean. The produce section is expansive, with bagged items in refrigerated cases with doors. It also has more obscure, harder-to-find ethnic foods and products from Mexico, such as huge banana leaves. The only complaint I have about this new store is that the liquor selection kinda sucked. What grocery store doesn't have Wild Turkey? The wine selection was limited and lame, too. Remember the good old days when you'd wait your turn in line, walk up to your cashier and they would greet you with a standard greeting? You know like, "Hello, did you find everything ok?" Or how about even just a dang gum "Hello." Remember those days when common courtesy and simple manners were common? Apparently, this Stater Brothers doesn't teach their employees these long forgotten skills. I went in the other night, waited my turn and approached the cashier that had a scowl on his face. I said, "Hello." Not a hello, good evening, kiss my butt, nothing. Didn't even tell me my total. Just looked at me. No "thank you." No nothing. Nada. Nichts. Nathan. Nick W. needs some retraining. This market has definitely changed for the better! Much more customer service oriented than it was a year or so ago. The butcher, one in particular was so customer at first was really taken aback. Needed a steak cut up for shish kabab didn't realize till I got home and unwrapped had skewered the meat the pieces!! Ready to go most cashiers greet you much better than before. A lot of new faces. If any improvement needed is the deli department have gone twice and each time had to wait awhile to be served. The second time begrudgingly was waited on. It could be lack of people but if there are people in bakery aren't they cross trained to help in deli if necessary? Prices are good, quality of food is good, love the organization. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Waited over 20 minutes to get help in the deli section. There was a line and not one person acknowledged us to let us know they'd be right with us or anything. Left one girl by herself trying to help a difficult customer why we just stayed. The chicken strips in the deli we're very fresh and delicious. I could tell they just changed the oil. I might buy more sometime! I really appreciate you guys taking the time to change your oil even though it is time consuming(worked in a deli before unfortunately...) so I know... My family and I have been going to this location for a few months and the store is usually clean, well stocked and the employees have been friendly. Honestly, the experiences haven't really been anything to write a review about since that's what I would say most people expect from a grocery store. My experience today was surreal. Essentially, it started as a usual experience; selected the groceries, paid and left. When I was at home unloading the groceries and preparing for my BBQ, I couldn't find the green onions. I knew 100% I had them in my cart when I paid. I double checked my refrigerator, all my bags and my car trunk. After confirming with my receipt that I did in fact buy them, I called the store to ask if they had somehow not been bagged and left at the register. Michael answered the call and I just asked if he could find out if the green onions were left behind. He confirmed they were and actually went above and beyond to help me out. Just that act of kindness was enough for me to write out this review and personally thank him. Just an incredible act of kindness. read more

The store employees provide terrible customer service. The cashier who helped me, was rude not only to me but the customer in front of me. Giving him attitude when he need instructions on doing a partial gift card payment and even rolling her eyes. I was given such a hard time, and the manager was as equally rude as her making up false policies that made no sense and were quite contradicting. I have always liked Stater Bros. I used to always shop at the Stater Bros in La Habra, when I lived in that city and loved the customer service. Here in Hesperia it is quite different. The cashiers dont acknowledge you, seems like they are always mad, like they just had a fight with their spouse that morning or night before and brought that bad energy into the workplace. However I do have to mention that the counter girl at the hot food station made me a happy customer and gets the 2 stars all to herself today by offering to make a fresh batch of chicken and wedges for me with a smile. Hello I made this account to shout out an absolute unit named Bill he really helped me out and I think staters could use more helpful people like him. What Happened? Birthday ruined! I went to the bakery and told them my mother in law bought my father in law a Boston Cream Pie at Stater Brothers and it was filled with whipped cream with just Bavarian cream "patches" on the outside, and was wondering if they could make one the traditional way and make me one with just Bavarian cream in the middle. They assured me they could and the next day on my way to my father in laws birthday dinner I picked up one just like my mother in law described. Full of whipped cream with patches of bavarian cream on the outside. The next day I returned, explained what I had received and the same baker acted shocked (again) and said she would make me another cake free of charge without whipped cream, she said she would make it herself with just Bavarian cream (the correct way). The next day it looked liked the same cake, but the baker assured me the "patches" were the whipped cream this time. My father in law (who is a doctor) felt that someone was being an A-hole because once again the Boston Cream Pie was loaded with whipped cream, mind you it had a bit more Bavarian cream, but it was basically the same cake. The frosting was like thick unmelted fudge, and too sweet for an ant farm. I was lied to twice, and disappointed a beloved member of my family because I couldn't trust a baker to properly make one of the simplest cakes in the world. Look up Boston Cream Pie on the Internet, and look at the images. Guess what? No whipped cream in the middle. Not only was the Boston Cream Pie made improperly, it was made improperly twice after speaking face to face to a baker, and telling her exactly what I want. So just assume your never going to get what you want, and everything they make is pure crap, and you'll never be surprised. DO NOT TRUST A BIRTHDAY TO THIS BAKERY! My favorite store!!!!! Fresh tortillas, awesome deli ladies and meat counter staff are the best!!!!!! Sometimes there's short wait for checking out but, it happens. I've never had anything less than exceptional service!!!! Quick to resolve issues as well. I had a bday cake smashed by a courtesy clerk and got a full refund. (My little pony pushed into cake, haha. Exactly!!! Go there at least 3 times a week spend at least $200 bucks on very little each time with crummy customer service. As a nurse I recognized a cancer patient I treated from a distance that I witnessed asked for a particular cereal... instead of accommodating him, send a box boy or someone to check and go get him what he wanted, the crummy checker said, "I don't think we have that" Really???? You don't have granola cereal??? Poor guy! I wanted to run and go get him 5 different boxes to choose from!! Plain rude, unfriendly and unacceptable to treat a sick elderly man so abruptly. I only go there because it's close to where I live and stores don't have what I need that they carry there.... Unfortunately, about a handful of employees are "sour-puss" no greeting and you have to say thank you to them with no response! Some, on the other hand, are friendly, but you are absolutely right! I am the Son of a "Black" Father and "White" Mother and appear to be black. Here's what happened, I moved back to Hesperia from NM to take care of my Mom who had breast cancer and my luggage had yet to arrive contained my identification. I went in to send money back to NM via Western Union and the store manager (short Latino) asks me for my ID, I told him I am just sending money and it's cash, I'm here to send money back to my kids, it's important, I'm here to take care of my Mom who is just out of the hospital after breast cancer surgery. He said Nah, need your license, I went, picked up my ailing mother and said I need you to bring your id for this transaction, I swear on the life of my kids, he does not ask my "white" mother for her id as I stood there and he looked at me.
