The absolute best urgent care in Bakersfield! I moved here 6 years ago and have tried almost every clinic in town. StatMD Urgent Care Inc. is completely in a league of its own. I needed extensive testing before an upcoming surgery, and they were the only facility with the advanced, on-site equipment to handle everything under one roof. It was an incredible relief. The front office staff and the doctors are professional, welcoming, and treat you like family. Most importantly, the doctors are phenomenal. Within minutes, they understood my health better than I did, looking at the bigger picture and solving medical issues I couldn't find answers to elsewhere. Their test results are incredibly fast, and their expertise is unmatched. I actually prefer coming here over a standard primary care doctor because they consistently go above and beyond. Do not go to this place unless you want to be ripped off and lied to. I went here because my son was turning yellow the other day and we had some lab work order and stuff and when the results came in since he's a minor for some reason, his lab results wouldn't pull up on the LabCorp website when I asked to just get them over the phone they said they couldn't because of Blue Shield's policy or something and then when I asked them for just to hand me the result in person they said I was required to do a console and pay for my co-pay and pay for that Office visit if I wanted to see my results and that was supposedly Blue Shield rule. That was not true. I later called Blue Shield and verified that they should just give me the results and the consult should be optional and even after getting the consult, they did not hand me my results. Then she misdiagnosed my son. Saying that he had hepatitis A when I know I had gotten vaccinated for that . So I had to call them again to get the results emailed to me and luckily my dad is a doctor and I had him read the results and he verified that he definitely didn't have hepatitis A and the positive was from the immunization and it even says that on the paper that he's negative for hepatitis A . so I think maybe they were trying to get me to come in again to get another office visit off of me and more lab work off of me. I don't know. I just don't trust this place and I would never recommend going here. Regardless this is malpractice and insurance fraud and it's unethical and it left my 16-year-old worried and stressed thinking he had hepatitis A for 30 minutes before I called my dad because it was kind of unbelievable. I don't know why I keep coming here, but they are terribly slow and don't tell you how long it will be. I needed a physical for my son, I called ahead days in advance and they said come on in no appointment. I show up 8am, first in line, and they said "is it ok to talk to the doctor on the phone" I said sure it'll probably be faster. Fast forward 40 mins and no phone call, and they say I have to wait til 9am to see a nurse practitioner!! Why not say that from the beginning instead of beating around the bush! Ridiculous, DO NOT COME HERE. Also, other reviews are correct, no AC in the front. It's hot in the waiting room. The rooms are not much better, I had to keep the door open to allow the cold-ish air to come in so we didn't over heat read more

But unfortunately I think they are still working out the kinks on starting up this urgent care so it did not run too smoothly with admission. Went there recently because they are around the corner from where I live. I called ahead to make sure they accepted my insurance. They said they did. We went in and were greeted by a nice girl but it was 109 that day and they had no ac in their lobby. We let them know, they said it was strange because it was cold in the back. After filling out the paperwork in the heat she told me they did not accept my insurance. We left and will never go back again. read more

The office and staff were wonderful. The physician was sympathetic to my symptoms and listen to me. I did not feel rushed out, but heard. The facility was clean and still look brand new. When I asked the doctor if this was a new location he said no that they had been there for six years. You couldn't tell by looking at it that they had been there for six years. I have been here a few times my trip here a few days ago will be my last. I am not sure if anyone in the office during my visit were even certified or had their degree, ANYTHING. After being seen by the "Dr" or "provider" (I'm not sure who it was because no one introduced themselves )came in did a very very quick look at me had absolutely nothing to say but instead asked me "what do you think"??? DO NOT COME HERE. AVOID IT AT ALL COST. THEY ARE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND ARE JUST TRYING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!!! This is THE WORST place you could go to. The entire staff was so slow and seemed to only care about being paid. After paying $150 for simply checking in, I had to pay $400 for them to actually do something. My girlfriend was throwing up violently and was clearly in a lot of pain. She was moaning and hunched over and barely conscious. There was only one other person in the waiting area and it still took them over half an hour to sit her in a room. I had to do all of the talking for my girlfriend because she was pretty out of it and couldn't really form any sentences on her own. After denying her insurance and I paid out of pocket, they still made us wait for 20 minutes in one of the small backrooms. They kept trying to push her to do a Covid test when that wasn't even relevant to her symptoms. They were annoyed that my girlfriend couldn't give them a urine sample after we repeatedly told them that she was throwing up everything she drank. The doctor and nurses who were "helping" all seemed lost and confused as to what they were doing. Finally when she was given an IV drip, the doctor was making rude and unprofessional comments to her the whole time. The doctor voiced how grossed out she was by the throw up and was making unnecessary comments. I then voiced some concerns to her and she gave me the most useless feedback. Please if you seriously do need an urgent care DO NOT COME HERE. they are ridiculously rude, greedy, and not helpful in anyway. My girlfriend seemed as though she was on the brink of death and they didn't even care. I am now $700 out because they refused to try and take her insurance. Heard they might update their name to ScamMD - seriously don't go here. For a DOT physical they charge $150, substantially hire than anywhere else in town. I was willing to pay the premium since I needed it done relatively quickly. However, after telling the medical assistant that you shouldn't take a pulse ox / pulse on the same arm as a blood pressure... and waiting for over an hour to be seen... I started to loose faith. This distrust was affirmed, when after submitting my paperwork to the DMV, it was kicked back for over 8 errors on the form that the office overlooked. I'm not sure why I paid them since I ended up doing their job for them anyways... but it's nice to know that price gouging and laziness are still prevalent in American healthcare. STAY AWAY from this office. They are in the business of insurance fraud. Went in due to symptoms of miscarriage, and they required that I got a Covid test ? They made it sound like it was not an option. I then received a bill stating that I would be charged $140 for the Covid test (over 4 different tests they charged for)! I also was charged $200 for the office visit PLUS $70 literally because I called in to ask for my results. They claim that getting my results over the phone is what is called a "tele health" visit! THEY NEVER CALLED ME LIKE THEY SAID SO I HAD TO CALL. For such a horrible thing to go through , they made it even worse by trying to scam you out of money. Seriously go anywhere else. The doctor did nothing. He literally told me that he was uncomfortable with "these things" aka vaginal bleeding and cramping. It took 1 hour for him to see me and I was the ONLY patient in the office. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! This urgent care lacks professionalism and it seems that they are more worried about getting the money versus actually ensuring their patients are taken care of. I was seen by the doctor before any vitals were taken and then after my "check in" with the physician, that took no more than 1 minute which resulted in the suggestion to see my primary care... they wanted to do my "vitals". When they were taking my vitals they were acting very confused & were asking me medical questions I had already given them during check in. Will never go again! I typically go here because it's close to home and not busy, but this will be the last time. There were only 3 patients waiting, myself being the second. I waited almost an hour and half. they didn't even come in the room until my 2 year old started crying hysterically out of impatience. The man came in and said what is happening and I told him I'm waiting for a doctor. How extremely rude and to ask me what's happening when it's their facility!!! I came here because I wasn't feeling good. I had symptoms of COVID also other symptoms not related. They did do a rapid COVID test which came out negative and that's all they did. They said I was fine and to come back and take another test. Didn't even check me for anything, not my ears, eyes, or throat. I even said my eyes ears and throat were hurting and nothing. Never came back. Went to my primary dr got tested again came out positive with a ear infection. Won't be back again. read more

This urgent care gave me a false negative test for COVID- I went to another urgent care the same day with the same method, rapid test and I tested positive. I also got retested a couple days later and it was still positive. Be careful with this urgent care- they are not professional, I have been trying to talk to a manager for two days now and no one has returned my call to discuss the false test that they provided. Extremely disappointed in the services they provided and I really hope they aren't giving out false negative tests to other people , putting others at risk. read more
