We had a bit of an emergency scare with a my 11 year old dachshund on a Sunday evening, so we made the 35 minute drive to AEC as it's the closest 24 hour vet to us. You have to buzz to get security to let you in, which is kind of off putting right from the start. And the first question they ask is if your pet could have ingested weed, which is I'm sure way too common. The nurse and vet were very kind and fairly quick, but before they even come in, they bring a credit card machine in for payment. I guess I understand that's the awful world we live in now, but it sure doesn't sit well when your pet is sitting on the table in pain but nothing an be done until payment is made. But once we started the process, they bounced in and out with diagnosis, suggestions for treatment, and itemized statements showing the extreme rising costs of the visit. The vet was very thorough and detailed in explanation, but we ultimately decided to take our dog home and to our local vet Monday morning, who basically disagreed with the diagnosis we received and went with a separate treatment plan. So around $1000 later, we at least had piece of mind that it wasn't life threatening. But ouch. I would definitely try a different emergency clinic next time. read more

This is the anniversary of my babies death because she caused him to go in anaphylactic shock she let him suffer and did nothing for him as his respiratory was steadily going up every hour. After she took over from the other vet. I didn't get a phone call to ask me if it was okay to give him 3 different antibodies at the same time. He was having a pancreatitis attack that was all. I wrote the board and they found discrepancies with her actions and slapped her on the hand. No telling how many dogs have passed under her care. I know another one right after mine who had his own you tube channel. She doesn't need to be a vet at all. DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE IF YOU LOVE ME!!!!!!! read more

Unfortunately, if I could give this place a -0 star review, I would. As much as the staff seemed sweet and to really care for my furbaby. This place is clearly only here for one thing, to take your money. I'm currently here right now, it is 2:45am and I arrived here to get my cat checked out at 12:05am. When I first arrived, there was one other lady here with her dog, and one other lady that just came in about 30 minutes ago. TWO OTHER PEOPLE. My cat didn't officially get examined until about 1am, and finally got a treatment plan with a quote of $286 at about 2am. Very shortly after I signed my treatment plan, they sedated my cat and took her back "to treat her laceration wound", which they originally said was an abscess wound. She's now been back there for almost an hour, SEDATED, and are just now coming back and quoting me almost 2 1/2 times the original quote to sedate her AGAIN and more "wound care". I'm beyond upset, furious, and scared for my baby back there. I told them she's scared, she doesn't like new people, and they've held her back there sedated doing absolutely nothing for her. She's been sitting in a kennel sedated for ALMOST AN HOUR!!! Don't charge an examination fee if you there is no examination. And don't sedate an animal just to have them sit in a kennel for over an hour scared. read more

All the staff were so kind and helpful when I had to bring my dog Crosby in for a medical emergency. Dr. Keller was very informative and kind. Dr. Hahn took great care of Crosby when he stayed overnight and Dr. McNamara sat down with me when I picked him up and answered all my questions. He gave me his full attention and really took time with me. When I had to bring Crosby back to have him put down, they were so caring and provided such a nice space for me to say goodbye to my boy. It was the hardest moment of my life, but I knew we were both in good hands. read more

We came here after my dog got into a car injury and they were fast when we came here. Later, they kept trying to upsell us by charging us more for x-rays and possible surgery. This isn't our normal vet and we were skittish about spending more money. Not a place I would recommend but if you have a badly injured animal this would be a good place to come. Worst vet ever, Dr. Gooldy walked right in and looked at my rottweiler and said "i'm not going to treat an aggressive animal, it's not an emergency" We then asked if he's just refusing service and he said yes and screamed at us to leave. He was screaming at the top of his lungs to leave and slammed the exam room door in our face. We were then put on a do not see list and when we took our other dog in to be seen (with a swollen face even after benadryl) They then told us to leave and we were not welcome even though they evaluated that she needed to be seen and treated. They do not care about the animals what so ever and require a $600 MINIMUM. All these people want is the money and would not care if your dog is dying, if the vet is too scared of your dog they will let your dog die. read more

I would give this place a negative star if I could. long story short this hospital took 800 dollars from me and gave me hope my 7 week old kitten would make it when his blood work clearly showed he should have been put to sleep immediately. I had two other vets look at the blood work and verified my kitten would have needed a whole blood transfusion and that probably would not have even worked. kitten suffered through there false treatment and they wanted another 500 to leave him over night but I did not have it. he would have died anyways but they were trying to get more money. 800 wasn't enough. I came home with him giving him the treatment they suggested and he was dead 4 hours later. his little body turned hard in my arms. this was a horrible experience that my kitten nor I should have had to endure. as I looked over there notes I also noticed a medication they gave my kitten that should not be given at his age. I pointed this out to the doctor and he said that is irrelevant and has nothing to do with why your cat died. That was a horrible thing to say, and they took no responsibility and they did not offer to refund any of my money. If you look at the reviews on their site, they have many that are very similar to mine. Many animals die at this place. Regrettably I am writing this review, but in an absolute devastating time the staff here was kind, caring and treated our buddy with respect and love. The small things make the difference, like coming into the room and, without hesitation, immediately getting on the floor with our buddy, talking to him and petting him. Unfortunately after 13 years of joy it was our buddies time. Nothing could have made the experience great, but there's no one else other than Dr Hahn I'd want there to help during that time. ABSOLUTE WORST RIP-OFF BUSINESS EVER. Charged over $800 for a simple flesh wound surgery. Stiches came out in 2 days. Took animal back for them to redo their poor sloppy work and they wanted $600 more to redo their GARBAGE JOB!! Left and took animal to another vet. Paid $150 for a perfect job, with guarantee concerning stitches. Stitches held wonderfully and animal healed perfectly. I WOULD GIVE MINUS 5 STARS TO animal emergency center if i could. Also when i took animal in they waited over 6 hours to do the surgery so it wasn't an emergency. Why didn't they just tell me that. I really don't want to give this facility even a one star review. They are only in business as vampires. I was the only one at their office seeking care for my dog, but they spent an hour taking the history of my dog's illness. We had one receptionist, a tech and the vet look at her. Each leaving the room saying that they would be back with an estimate for the charges for her care. As mentioned, an hour later, they presented an estimated charge of $1,500 to to do extensive lab work, x-rays and wound care. None of which was necessary to give my pup pain relief. They were rude when I called them out on the over treatment Plan and building a bill. They even told me I was ban from seeking any further care from their facility. And, throw it in my face that they were the only one's in town should I need emergency care. Never again will I subject myself or my pets to this blood sucking. Shame! read more

Took 2 dog on different occasions. First dog was misdiagnosed and died two weeks later from heart failure. My second dog I just took today. She had a 2 cm hole on her right side. I sat and waited for one hour and was never seen. Strongly don't recommend this place. Just to be seen it's $99 not including anything else. Do not take your pet here. My dog was throwing up and didn't want to eat, so we took him in to get checked. Up front they asked for $370 just to check him. Then took him to the back, after almost 5 hours of sitting and waiting, they quoted me $2000 to keep him for 3 days for observation, I told them I couldn't afford that, so they gave me the option to pay another $300 and they would give him meds that would help with the nausea and to take him home and keep him hydrated, but that he was definitely going to be ok and this virus just needed to pass. Myself and family brought in our dog to be seen, they took our dog to the back and came back to us saying our dog was in critical condition and that they had put her on oxygen and about to do chest x-ray and we had to pay $800 dollars for critical care. As we are all digging through our pockets trying to gather all the money the lady is on her radio calling out they paid $165 waiting on the rest... after paying the $800 dollars we waited for an update and the vet comes back out asking what food we give our dog and if our dog is on any medications after giving all the information she said okay we are going to do the x-ray now... (why haven't you already done the x-ray...?) after another our we finally got an update and they tried to make us leave our dog there and charge us more money for observation... we explained that we could not pay anymore money that we gave them the last bit of money we had... we had a horrible experience and felt that all they wanted was our money and nothing was done for our dog read more

Yes, they saved my dog's life, but I didn't like their policies overbilling. I recently discussed with my best friend and friends about this place and credits' application. They believed that Dr. Burke was wrong, and she didn't suppose too hard to push on us over that happened. My boyfriend and I almost had argued over everything, and it was too hard for our decision. We were very stress and sat for more hours -- bad idea. We will pay the bill when his paycheck is coming this Wednesday. I don't recommend that people who can't afford or don't have any money, then please don't come here. I can tell what did AEC is very selfish for cash, not even saving your pets lives. The cost is ripped off, and other reviews are telling the truth about their change fees, and they didn't offer any of the discounts. What if AEC will be willing to look for offer these discount and the partnership to rebuild credit loans? It would be helpful as giving the people and me a second chance! read more

Arrived at 7pm, our dog was having a hard time breathing, they took him in immediately, from there we waited for hours for an update, we were told to wait in the car, don't leave. I called about 1 1/2 hrs in was told a nurse would call in 15 minutes, another hour went by, I called again was told to stay on line a nurse would pick up, another 15 minutes on hold nobody picked up. When I went to front door and asked what was going on, the receptionist was flat out rude, I was told it could be another 1 1/2 who nows, FYI this place has a off duty Tulsa PD as a security guard, the way they treat the customers, I can see why, this place absolutely has terrible service, I got my dog out of there and went elsewhere, It's crazy how bad this place was tonight. read more

At this place there seems to be a lot of aloofness in pricing after having it requested several times and being told we will prepare an "estimate." The male staff here were not so personable and at times a bit unprofessional. The doctor gave useful information that was needed, at best. Unfortunately we've been here twice now. Luckily they do a fantastic job. The staff is calm and caring. The facility is very clean and comfortable. If you call before heading over they will do a good job of walking through with you whether or not you need to come. Be prepared, like all emergency vets they have a good amount of paperwork for you to fill out, a lot of it geared towards making sure you will pay your bill. Both times we came their charges were fair, I never felt like they were doing any more than they needed to. Hopefully you never need them. I've been to this emergency center in the past and they have always been pretty lackluster but tonight was the final straw .Tonight I brought my 7 week old puppy to get her eye checked out as it was bothering her and they had us waiting in the room for about an hour then when we asked what was taking so long as it was almost midnight they denied my wife and I service. I told them I will pay whatever just treat my puppy and the receptionist upfront said no we will not see you. I was so angry I ended up going to Oklahoma veterinary services and they did an amazing job they saw us right away and they treated us with the utmost respect I recommend you don't come to animal emergency center I know I won't . read more

Overpriced for level of care. Walked in with my dog that was struggling with breathing issues, and in acute respiratory distress. Staff observed that he could not even walk when entering the building and his inability to breath while walking. This was at 12:35pm. I waited in a room for an hour after he was taken back and no one ever came to update me on his status, so I finally had to exit the room and find someone to get an update. After being told he was resting and doing fine, I was told the vet would be in shortly. This was at 1:40pm. During that time, I could hear the vet and another person discussing that the price of lumber had dropped, among other non-vet related issues, for 20 minutes. I waited another 30, then had to go back out of my room only to see four employees sitting at the front desk doing NOTHING, and asked again when I would see the vet. They responded with" he hasn't been in yet?" Absolutely ridiculous! After that, the vet came in about 5 minutes later, asked for his health history which I had given to the previous two nurses and he obviously had not reviewed anything. I asked his opinion on my dog and he said "he didn't know anything yet because he had not even examined him," and this had been over two hours later. Long story short, I got real answers FINALLY, four hours later, coupled with horrible customer service and concern for the pets they claim to care for. Absolutely overpriced ($600) for level of care and services provided. Will NEVER return to this facility. read more

absolutely would never recommend this place to anyone... sat there for over 2.5 hours with my very sick dog that was pooping straight blood, and no one seemed to be clean concerned about it. after hour one i called to check in because we hadn't seen anyone not even a tech for vitals and the staff member i talked to was so awful i was almost to tears. after i kept having to take my dog out in their lawn to potty because he was so sick we decide to leave and find somewhere else and as we're leaving they magically say they can get him in. joke of a business. joke of a staff. they don't even deserve 1 star. read more

This animal hospital would not take a dog that was hit on the road without pre-payment. This is a dog that we did not hit, doesn't have owners, and we just picked up to try and save it. They after making us stay outside for a couple minutes with this stray finally took the dog and gave a release form so that we could relinquish the dog after making us sit outside the building while a storm was coming. They didn't tell us about the fact that we had to fill out an Online paperwork form before hand. IF YOU HAVE FOUND A STRAY THAT IS INJURED PLS NOTE they will make you take responsibility for the animal and you will have to pay over $100 to get it assessed and taken care of. read more
