Booked a townhouse through Stay Montana on our recent stay in Montana for our nephews wedding. Originally booked a place in Big Sky but realized quickly the option to be in Bozeman would be much better for all the weekend festivities. The request to cancel Big Sky and find another in Bozeman was automatically accommodated and they made it a seamless effort. Everything from start to finish was exceptional and I highly recommend booking through Stay Montana. The place was mint and they thought of every detail to make our stay with a family of 5 perfect! Stay Montana has to be the worst management company out there. They are an expert at dodging phone calls and being non-responsive. We had a bad experience at the home that we rented with them so we sent them an in-depth email asking for some sort of compensation. They ghosted us didn't respond at all. After multiple people from our party continued to text them, they would FINALLY respond via text and said they sent an email to us and to check our spam box. No email ever came. We keep Trying to get a hold of them and they are dodging. Super unprofessional and I do not recommend this company whatsoever. If I were the owner of this company, I would be reading all of these reviews and taking them seriously as well as having a in-depth team talk with my employees in addition to making major changes within. Cannot recommend booking from them. We were excited for our stay in Bozeman - however, the house we rented had a septic tank issue, making the place rapidly inhabitable. Okay that is fine - issues happen (but something likely missed by Stay Montana in their inspection/review between stays). But the response from Stay Montana was challenged. First, they did not have any other property available in Bozeman for our group size. Okay fine, can't control that so not at fault there. Second, they were not proactive in finding a solution for us - we had to do that entirely and took considerable bandwidth, especially as we needed a place asap. Third, it took much back and forth to get a refund (which they did provide to their credit). Net-net, we lost the majority of a day of precious and very limited family time together and also had to spend considerable more than originally budgeted. So book with caution. read more

Stay Montana turned our trip into a nightmare. Don't do business with this deceptive company. They claim to be locals who care that your trip is clean and safe but their phones are answered by an out of the US answering service who Stay Montana uses to delay their own response when the room or house they rented isn't clean, and doesn't have the basics a room or home should have. We rented from them and had to buy our own light bulbs and spider spray for the room, wait 4 days for a tub plug (which made the tub nonfunctional); waited 4 days after our request for dishwashing pods we needed to sterilize the plates and cups and silverware Stay Montana put up DIRTY for our arrival and their iPad to communicate our needs, check in and check out was nonfunctional! Even with the light bulbs working the beds were extremely hard (which Stay Montana sold as "comfortable") and the rooms were like dark caves. Each room was poorly designed. It was impossible to watch the tv from the bed in the bedroom because it faced the wrong way. Book with anyone but Stay Montana. Stay Montana will force you to spend your time calling and re-calling them and then fighting with them in an attempt to salvage your trip due to their disdain for your health and how they rented the room or house. I would not use them as a homeowner either. They don't do right by people which will cause photos of your property to show up online as a horrible place to rent through no fault of your own. read more

Avoid this company at all cost. Used them for over a year on our downtown Bozeman rental. Although the office girls were nice, it took weeks for them to get back to us on simple questions. They seemed overrun with inadequate staff.The biggest complaint was they didn't collect water/sewer bills from our tenants and deducted it from our proceeds! It also took over three months to get our security deposit back in which we had to go to the office and confront them directly. Just awful. So sad companies operate this way. read more

Where we stayed was beautiful and expensive. Views spectacular. I spent the majority of the vacation trying to get Stay Montana to respond to a plumbing issue on a property they managed. They were inadequate in responding to our request everyday of our vacation, while we waited for a plumber. Initially said they could not get one, we contacted two who were available and communicated to them specifically who was available. Then they expressed having to contact an individual, who then contacts the owner for permission. When I asked to speak to the individual they indicated they did not have the phone number, that they contacted the individual via the internet and they were not allowed to call directly, though they claim to be a small family business. Sent three maintenance personal to the property with a plunger- it never rectified the problem for us. That private suite for 2 family members had no privacy as they had to march through the great in front of 8 people already up to use the guest bath next to the kitchen. They have since indicated it was not an emergency as we had other operational toilets. That is hardly the point as we rented this particular private lodge for 10 in order for each family to have their own privacy, that is how you have a successful time away with family. They have expressed having done everything possible to rectify the problem-they did not. They did everything possible to avoid paying for a plumber. They indicated the property was older and you have to expect that sort of thing, our home is the same age and we would not accept any of our toilets to be inoperable.They claim that they are a small family business. If that's the case they are truly dysfunctional. read more
