My friend and I called to see if this salon would take us as walk ins and they said yes even though it was 2 hours before closing. Well we get there and I show the stylist my picture (which was going to be a full head of hair color) and she glanced at it barely. She immediately starts rushing through everything and that's when I started to feel a little uncomfortable. Then we get to where she's cutting and drying my hair and I asked for curtain bangs .. she cut strait across and told me they were curtain bangs. ( I already had curtain bangs but I just wanted them trimmed) she dries my hair and it is NO WHERE NEAR what I asked for. She very bluntly cut my hair, gave me straight across bangs and my hair looks so fried with random streaky highlights. Nothing is even blended. I've never wanted to cry after getting up from a salon chair until today. My friends hair looks the same as mine and we asked for 2 different things.. she's very upset with her experience as well as her hair is in the same shape as mine is. They rushed and messed up our hair so bad that I really wish they would have just turned us away as walk ins. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This incident happened about 3 years ago. I've been in recovery for over 5 years now so I've just learned to speak up for myself since I am a timid person and like to keep to myself. With this said I want to tell a story about what happened by the owner of this fine establishment. I had gone here a few times before because I felt safe to get my hair done here. Last time I went here the owner did my hair. She was brushing my hair like I was a disobedient child trying to break free. She then had the scissors and started cutting and I was scared to leave because I've had a woman cut my ear once when I was a kid and I froze. She then dried it while whipping my head back and forth and pulling my hair. I paid and left and I started crying and cried for days because I felt stupid for not speaking up. It's been over 3 years and I still have not allowed anyone to touch my hair or cut it or dye it or even touch it at all. This place traumatized me and I will never step foot here again. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. For reference. I HAD long pretty healthy blonde hair with a natural left side part. Okay. What I wanted was not fucking hard. I wanted a trim. And a shadow root and tone. EASY OKAY. no. This lady cut so much of my hair off. She parted my hair to the middle and face framed it WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. then when she dyed it. She didn't even do anything I wanted. She did whatever the hell she wanted. If you want your hair ruined. Go here. If not. Please save your money. It's cheap for a reason. The owner and her daughter are very nice. They are also pretty quick. And their prices can't be beat. That being said....don't bother making an appointment, because they take any and all walk-ins that show up. To the point where there are seven people with color on their hair at once. The last time I was there, which was my second time in a three month period, they FRIED my hair. Left me under the dryer with each on my hair wayyyyy longer than they should have. When I got rinsed and ran my fingers through my hair, it was disintegrating in my hand...I thought maybe it was just the ends of my hair, and chose to ignore it. When they cut and mostly dried my hair to show me what the final product looked like, she floofed up my hair 80's style so I couldn't see the damage. Six weeks later I had to go to a more classy salon and pay several hundred dollars to have them fix my hair, and had to have over three inches cut off (making the cut well above my shoulders. Ugh) Found out that this is apparently a rather regular thing that they have to fix for people coming out of Blue Dolphin. If they hadn't fried my hair and tried to cover it up, I could have handled the 7 people getting their hair done all at once by only two people because they are nice and their prices are stellar. If you don't plan on lightening your hair at all, I'm sure that this place will be great for you. read more

My best friend and I have been going to Agnie to get our nails done for the past 10ish years. We went to her for all our proms, my sisters wedding, and I took my entire bridal party to her for my own wedding. She does wonderful work, and is great company as well. She got my entire bridal party done, and our nails looked wonderful. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great manicure. This place deserves 0 stars. Dawn ruined my hair. I had my long, midback length hair bleached blonde from another salon (but unfortunately my hairstylist moved away) so I just needed a root retouch. Sounded pretty simple, right? Absolutely not. I saw Dawn and requested a root retouch to the blonde I already had. This lady dyed my hair A DARK GREENISH COLOR, making me feel like I was living a horror movie. I asked why she dyed it darker, and she said I "I thought you said you wanted a darker color." I kindly said "no, I said a root retouch." Then she tried "fixing it" the same day by STRIPPING the color off, then bleaching my whole hair again, which turned it ORANGE. She then charged me hundreds, telling ME that it was the color my hair was when I walked in. So I went back, and kindly asked her to fix it considering how extremely brassy she made it. She then bleached my hair another 2 times, and when I had my 2nd hair washed, she combed my hair and chunks started melting off an inch from my scalp. The woman next to me looked at my hair in horror and disbelief that my hair was breaking off in all directions. I picked up handfuls of my hair off my lap and I almost cried, asking Dawn why my hair was breaking off? (As an expert wouldn't you avoid certain products and chemicals knowing what you've already used to process it?) And she put the blame on ME saying, "this is what you wanted." Excuse me, so I WANTED MY HAIR MELTED OFF? I just wanted my roots dyed blonde. Root retouch. That is not hard to lift if it is virgin hair! How dare she put the blame on me and not take accountability? I DIDN'T ASK FOR MY HAIR TO BE DYED GREEN. I DIDNT ASK FOR HER TO BLEACH IS SO MUCH THAT IT TORE OFF. Nor did she even warn me that my hair might break off from doing ANY of the atrocious things she did to my hair! We are clients and don't know any better. We trust them to care and fix our hair. She was supposed to be the professional one. All she did was destroy my hair, and she didn't even look at me while she told me this is "what I wanted." I didn't yell. I didn't demand. I didn't complain. I spoke to her kindly. So this is how they treat paying clients? I hope that no one ever has to go through this. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with it, and I don't see how they can only have 3 stars on here! Seriously guys, they were both very sweet and accommodating. Went for my daughters ombré hair... we were greeted and she got a seat quickly. I was impressed that Dawn can organize many peoples hair color/highlight all at different stages. I felt like "real" people worked there. While I was waiting I was able to get a manicure (without an appointment) and hope for my cuticles. Still while I was waiting I was very inclined to get my hair done too...next time. As for the pig...I felt like this made the shop stand out from other salons and patrons all came to say hi to her. Don and her daughter are very sweet people. Very welcoming, however, I can not recommend them unless you are going in for something simple and standard. They overbook appointments, and so are trying to focus on multiple people at the same time. This makes for very little actual attention to what they're doing. She should have just told me she was not capable of doing what I asked. Instead, she completely fried my hair, leaving bleach on for far too long, and not even understanding what was needed to get me to my desired final result. My hair is fried, and breaking and falling out. There is nothing I can do to fix it, short of cutting it off. Might be a great place for cuts, but if you're looking for complicated coloring, go anywhere but here. read more

OMG cute little salon... seems like a little secret of anchorage. Fast paced not your typical long drawn out appointment. When I came in there was one stylist working on 7 people... and she was giving everyone special attention and getting people in and out. I LOVED IT... if you need to talk to your stylist and BS for hours this isn't your place.. but for me as a mommy of 4 I mean business and need things done.. I don't even want to give this place one star. I came in to get a blonde ombré and it looked absolutely horrible. In addition to the horrible dye job Dawn completely fried my hair. On top of all of that, I came back and showed her my hair and said it looked horrible and that it was fried and she only gave me HALF of my money back!!! Never go here!!!! My hair was all messed up in different shades of purple and green after I gave up on dyeing it a few months ago and just decided to let it grow out, because I didn't trust myself to fix it. Dawn did! Now it's back to normal, and I love it. Also super affordable, so A++++ in my book, and I'm definitely coming back in a few months when I'm ready to transition to a new color. Love this salon! Prices are reasonable and affordable. I have been to two other salons and both did perms that totally ruined my thin, fine hair. Dawn has done color weaves on my hair, trims and, most recently, a perm. She takes the texture of my hair into consideration before she pus anything on it. My hair turned out exactly as I wanted. I showed Dawn a couple of photos of what I wanted and she nailed it. I don't trust anyone else with my hair. I was 25 minutes early for my appointment and thought I'd have to wait a bit. I think I might have waited 5 minutes. This isn't a salon where you are going to spend a good share of your day there getting your hair done. That's one of my favorite things about this salon. I know I'm going to be there as long as I need to be. I always make an appointment as opposed to being a walk-in, and never have I had to wait more than a couple minutes. Keep up the great work, Dawn! I'll definitely be back! read more
