Even when surgery is unwarranted, they still recommend it. So, I held out without seeing a doctor while suffering from a bum shoulder from falling off a motorcycle. Ugh. Finally, I had to drag my butt in to the doctor. The pain was unbearable. Surprisingly, Dr. Paschal did NOT recommend surgery. He recommended physical therapy. After 8 sessions with the therapist (a different office & different practitioner), I am now 95% better. Hopefully, I will be 100% better in a couple more weeks. Dr. Paschal truly wants to help you. He is not a surgery pusher. He only recommends surgery if it is needed. He is also very good at diagnosing with only a couple of x-rays. He doesn't necessarily need a CAT scan. CAT scans are very bad for you as they are equivalent of a dozen or more X-rays.

What really makes this practice a winning combination is the "Rockstar" staff. His PA, Alex, is just as patient and engaging as Dr. McElroy. I'm by no means a drug seeker, but have been on a drug that has worked with me for the past decade. Dr. Rai was very professional and honest about his inability to help me switch from my current pain management provider and have him continue my medication. He did make sure that my co-pay was refunded before I left the office. While, he could not help me, I do have respect for him since he was straightforward and honest. I do wish they would be more upfront about their practice's inability to prescribe controlled pain medication so that others know ahead of time.

The facility has tons of equipment, very gym-like. But the therapy equipment is designed specifically for the folks who need some help getting back to "normal" after an orthopedic injury--except for the soccer ball. I'm pretty sure it was just a soccer ball. All the folks there are nice, professional and they really made us feel comfortable. At first I'd go back with my 14-year old daughter and do the "mom thing"--you know, kind of hover. But I really felt okay letting her go back alone. I didn't let her go back alone, but mostly because I enjoyed going back with her. They gave her exercises to do at home and checked her progress. They explained everything to both her and I. Now she's got her mobility and strength back. We will still have to work on the balance, and the goofiness. They can't fix goofy. I secretly think they encouraged it a bit. Awesome place. Also, I found out a great number of other folks in Lakewood use them. Always a plus.

Not only did he help me get back to exercising on my own but also tended to my tendinitis on my ankle and knee. Nick is extremely knowledgeable and on top of his expertise he also has a great personality and rapport with everyone. It was bittersweet to finish therapy. After my initial evaluation with Nick and the first few therapy sessions, I could immediately tell I was making progress. I learned how to perform proper exercises and stretches and was encouraged to share feedback after each session. Nick listened to all my concerns and showed me how to tackle all those challenges. I was not only undergoing treatment, I was learning how to perform and maintain the correct and meaningful exercises at home or at the gym. What a great experience I had interacting and being treated by their professional, cheery and caring staff!

I had such bad pain that I didn't think PT would help but to my surprise it did help to the point I'm fully recovered now. It was easy to book an initial appointment, they are popular so can be difficult to find the perfect time unless you are willing to wait. I had a primary PT that I saw most of the time but also saw some others. It started out very easy and simple with stretches and other things and gradually had most of the type of exercises I do. They asked about what/if any strength training I do and they were able to incorporate most of the type of exercises that I do that could have lead to my initial problem. I was very happy with how much progress I made while I was going here and if I have some other physical problem where PT might help, I will come back here again.

As a middle-aged guy who is pretty accident-prone, I have had a lot of experience getting physical…read moretherapy from a variety of providers. Joints in Motion is, far and away, the best physical therapy provider that I have ever used. I have been working with Eric at Joints in Motion for the last 3 months as I recover from rotator cuff surgery and cannot say enough positive about the experience. Rotator cuff surgery recovery is not fun, but Joints in Motion has made things immeasurably better. There are several things that set Joints in Motion apart from other therapy places where I have gone. First, it is clear during each of my sessions that there is a plan in place for my therapy. Unlike other places I have gone, I have never found myself standing around waiting for a therapist to figure out what I should be doing or waiting between exercises because a therapist is tending to another patient. It is clear that they respect my time and prioritize maximizing my progress without unnecessarily wasting my time. Second, Eric is great about explaining what I'm doing, how it helps, what my progress looks like, and giving advice on things that I can do at home. I have a bad tendency to be a control freak which invariably causes me to ask lots of questions. Eric has always patiently answered them fully in a way that is understandable to a layperson. Third, the facility itself is well-equipped and a really good size. I did not appreciate how important that space issue was until I went to Joints in Motion. At other therapy places where I have been, it was often hard to work around other patients who were operating close by. At Joints in Motion, there is plenty of space to spread out so that patients don't impede one another during a therapy session. I live less than 5 minutes from another physical therapy provider, but it is a no-brainer that, despite it being a 25-minute drive from my house to Joints in Motion, that the extra drive well be well-worth it the next time I manage to injure myself.
