Overall my experience with the hotel was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Now I do have a few critics. First, the room was not super clean I saw many spots that could have been cleaned more throughly. The cabinets and appliances had some rust on the handles. The carpet was super clean. The room came with a toaster, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, stove top heating, dishwasher, cutlery, pots pans, cups and plates. The room also had a iron with board hangers and basket. Pros: Great location that's convenient to get to places in the area that has outstanding management and staff. I was greeted with such a warm welcome when I arrived and thanked for staying here when I left. During my stay my room type was a King Studio Suite that was clean, smelled fresh and was very comfortable during my stay. This hotel has the best dinning/kitchen staff and overall the best customer service team. Front desk staff accommodated my specific room request. The daily breakfast and 3 night social at this location was a plus and greatly appreciated. I had my 4th stay here this week and once again everything from check in to walking out to the car was top notch. The rooms are without a doubt the cleanest I've seen in a long time as well as the food @ breakfast is always on point. Everyone is always in a good mood & that's hard to find anymore in a hotel atmosphere. The Hotel Manager Robin is seriously one of the best in the business and even without meeting her u can see it in her workers. This hotel is EXCELLENT! Our stay was an 11 out of 10. Breakfast is open later than most (weekends and weekdays), the full breakfast has everything you could possibly ask for. Really 4.5 stars and could have potentially could have been 5 stars. Would absolutely stay there again, but just a couple of quirks brought it down 1/2 star. The Good? We loved the cleanliness of the suite and grounds. Very pet friendly- quiet and clean regarding the fact that we saw a good amount of dogs (we did not have a pet with us). Breakfast was very tasty, especially compared to other hotels with similar offerings such as Residence Inn. You could even make your own fresh Belgian Waffles! Staff was friendly. I honestly would have liked to stay longer to utilize the pool and firepit. It was nice to see other clean hotels around us and I believe there was restaurants in walking distance. I feel like I read that there was some sort of happy hour offering with food and alcoholic beverages, ala Embassy Suites, but I may be wrong (I thought reading we arrived too late to experience something like that). A shopping area with a Target was very nearby (can't remember if walking distance) and just an exit or two away from Buc-ee's, which was an amazing experience for yankees like us to check-out! Overall, the area was very clean and save, serving a great purpose for our overnight stay for coming back from Orlando to Philadelphia. The not-so good? There was a very bright nightlight build into the vanity in the bathroom that was hard to cover. I do not mind light when I sleep, but it was a bright little LED looking thing and it was annoying for me, so just letting others who are bothered by such to bring something to block it out. As clean as the breakfast area was, including a female staff worker who was doing an amazing job and keeping things clean and stocked, the floor was super sticky. It was sticky the night before when we walked through the area and was sticky the next morning when we got our food. Like loud sticky. I did not see anything on the ground but it was annoying and jarring considering everything else looked so clean. And the weirdest thing of all? When we called to the front desk to inform them that we had issues with our two bathrooms losing electricity with no lights, the staff worker said "are you in the two bedroom by the elevator? We have heard that before". When we checked in there was no issue, but both bathrooms lost the ability to use the lights. We had to use flashlights on our phones to use the bathroom! The lights outside of the doored off toilet and shower on the sink vanity worked. There was also one light in the kitchen that did not work. Could be a safety issue at maximim, but it was a bizarre inconvenience. We only stayed in the room one day, so we just got by. I am hoping that management has addressed this issue. Having said all of that, if we ever do an I-95 roadtrip again and needed somewhere to stay, we would not hesitate to stay at Staybridge Suites in Florence again. read more

I had a performance tonight. I booked my hotel room in advance and when I show up to check into my room, I find out that they canceled my room because the city I came from wasn't far enough away! That's a bunch of bull! They GAVE my room away because I wasn't there by 4pm to check in! They tried to call me while I was on stage and when I didn't answer the phone, they canceled my room! I'm never booking a room with another Staybridge Suites again and everyone I know will never book here! Get y'all act together! I've stayed at a few Staybridge Suites locations, and it has become my go-to relatively inexpensive travel hotel. This brand new example in Florence, SC, is no exception. It's great, and in-keeping with my high expectations for Staybridge properties. Being a new hotel, the staff was highly motivated. Everyone was extremely friendly. J.D., if I recall his name correctly, checked us in quickly, before check-in time, and was very helpful in giving us some information on the local area. The property itself is very nice. The lobby/breakfast area has a nice, open feel with a massive ceiling studded with wood beams and inset lights. The rooms are nice with solid countertops, and a nice accent wall behind the bed which brings everything together. The TVs are all networked with the hotel and allow you cast apps onto them, though I did not actually try to do that. Also, the memory foam mattress is phenomenal. Seriously. Best sleep I've had in a long, long time. While it has a pretty presentation, the hotel still does several things to remind you it's a mid-tier hotel. First, the construction. For example, our bathroom, in room 510, had a nickel-sized hole in the wall marking the first attempt at installing the toilet paper holder. You couldn't patch that up? Or the fact that the kitchen drawers in our suite were not actually large enough to hold the silverware tray, so it is placed inside one of the cabinets, but the cabinet shelf is also too small to hold the silverware tray, so it hangs open awkwardly. This seems avoidable. Second, the breakfast. If you've spent any time traveling around more upscale hotels in Europe or Asia, you may know they generally offer excellent breakfasts, to include an extensive cold meat and cheese selection. The Staybridge Florence also offers a cold cheese selection. Fancy! Except not. I'm pretty sure my slice of orange cheese was just unwrapped Kraft American singles. No, thank you. Speaking of food, food delivery options to the hotel are almost non-existent, so plan ahead and pick something up on your way, or head to the decent Mexican restaurant next door (which offers discounts to Staybridge guests if you show your key.) Still, none of the minor negatives bring the property down. I'd absolutely stay here again. read more

We got here late at night. Walking into the room it instantly smelled like bug spray. The beds were filthy and there was trash left from previous guests. In the morning, we had breakfast in the building which was the only saving grace, as the breakfast workers were helpful and friendly. My husband and I told the front desk about the room's smell and sanitary condition, to which she responded, "What do you want me to do about that now?, Why didn't you tell the front desk." As many of you know, when you get to a hotel rather late, you want to rest and be comfortable. The lack of care, consideration, and blatant accusatory attitude left me wondering why they are in the service industry. I plan on writing to corporate about their behavior and disregard. read more

We love this property so much we altered travel plans for a second stay in two weeks! Once you're here you won't want to leave. The staff is fantastic. If you're staying on a night with the Manager's Reception you will enjoy a delicious meal (don't forget the cookies!) and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks. This hotel i's fairly new (8/21), looks nice and gives a good impression when you walk through the door. People behind the counter are protected behind a plastic Covid bubble (pretty much what's expected these days) and I was cheerfully checked in and sent up to my spacious room, complete with kitchenette - very nice indeed. The room passed inspection with flying colors, clean and well-appointed. I normally would have given this hotel a four-star review, I think. COVID staffing issues were evident but only significantly affected getting my room serviced. I was there for about a week and never had a trash can emptied, for example. COVID precautions, perhaps? - but it felt more as though short handedness was the reason. My colleagues noted similar issues. I doubt there's much they could have done better under the strained (and unusual!) circumstances, but that's how it went. The check-in desk was pretty helpful, even apologetic, and the one very minor maintenance issue I had was attended to very promptly. I do want to give kudos to the staff who worked behind the scenes to facilitate the program I was attending. They were cheerful, energetic and bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Bottom line. I'd stay here again. Hopefully the staffing issues sort themselves out sooner rather than later and your own experience will be perfectly faultless. read more

We stayed here on a road trip to Fla and would absolutely stay here again. The room was spacious and very clean.the bed was very comfortable and had 4 large fluffy pillows. Temperature was comfortable and the room was quiet. For those worried about Covid safety, masks were worn, the room was spotless, and breakfast was served to you instead of buffet style. So I was driving to Florida from NJ, and thought it best to stop on the way down as we had our dogs with us. I saw online that the Staybridge Suites allowed any size dog with no limit on number in the room. I also saw my fellow Yelpers have give them good reviews. So online I did not see how to add the dogs so I called and reserved a room. Check in was easy, they charge $75 for your dog to stay with you. The Staybridge does offer complimentary breakfast and during the week they offer dinner, beer or wine during the social hours. The hotel is pretty new, and has lots of potential. Here's my problem, all rooms can be a pet friendly room, my room was pretty clean but it was on the fifth floor and so far from the elevators. Also the halls and rooms have carpet, not a great combination for being pet friendly. I will saw the rooms are insulated well, as only once did I hear another dog barking. Nearby are also two other hotels they allows pets, so I may try them next time only due to the distance to try to get the dogs outside. read more

We were given the wrong room. We booked a one bedroom because we have four kids and we wanted to have a separate space for the babies. However when we were given our room we realized they gave us a studio suite. We attempted to get it corrected and the front desk employee berated us that it was our fault for booking the wrong room and told us to basically suck it up. We talked to the manager the next morning and explained the situation however her response was "we only have 5- one bedrooms" (we booked 6-weeks in advance in order to make sure) to and " you could have cancelled and gone to another hotel" (not at 9pm after driving all day with four kids). She offered us 20$ because that's the difference in room rates (but that was the correct amount anyway). The managers name was Stephanie. We went out of our way to stay at this particular hotel because of the one bedroom. We feel cheated that we had to cram into a studio with babies and pay the high prices when we had no other choice. Recently stayed there. I don't understand the high ratings. One night costs $220+/- , including the $75 dog fee, for a room that was far from clean. When we first arrived my dog tried to get under the couch because a previous occupant left a toy there. I guess they don't clean under furniture. The floor in the bathroom was dirty and the shower not clean. There was dirt and mold in the grout. On top of that the blanket was not doubled sheeted, so we slept without a blanket. In the time of Covid, let alone normal times, all of the above is unacceptable. In the evening someone had left a bag by the elevator with their leftover dinner. It was there when we left the next day and we know it was seen by staff since an invoice was placed under our door and they would have had to pass the bag. Many people in the hotel were not wearing masks, even in the elevator. The best part of our stay was the breakfast, which was great. read more

Staybridge Suites Florence is one of the best hotels ever. We stayed overnight and we weren't let down, we were actually very surprised as to how big and clean the hotel rooms were. The bathrooms were big and spotless, also came with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, in case you forgot your own. The beds were big and super comfortable, I could sleep there for hours. The hallways were gorgeous and so were the rooms. In the morning we walked downstairs to eat breakfast and we were very surprised to as good and clean it was. The furniture was all brand new and beautiful. The food was very delicious and the staff were so kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here today and I would definitely come back. read more

Very nice hotel and the room was conveniently laid out. Loved the amenities. Housekeeping wasn't great. Upon checking into our room the toilet wouldn't flush and there were used drinking glasses with visible lip marks on them in the cabinets that were covered as if to be clean and washed. Breakfast spread was good, about the norm from an IHG hotel. Would stay again, but would probably ask for those issues to be corrected next time instead of just dealing with it. read more

This place was very clean. I am surprised for a 3 star hotel. The hotel it self did a good job cleaning. Receptionist did not wear mask but there was a glass barrier. They make you sign the receipt with used pens and no hand sanitizer. That is gross. I also suggest they remove pens paper and throw away the pillows on the coach in the rooms. There is a lot of things they can do to make it more Sanitary. Some guests had masks on. Mainly ones from NY NJ. You can tell people live in the area do not take covid as seriously as we do up north. We have been driving from NYC since 7am and decided to book a random spot in Florence,SC. We got the studio suite even though we were going to be here for 1 day because we wanted a nice place to stop and rest. I must say we were pleasantly surprised how much space there was. We checked in at 6pm and was greeted with some nice people. When we walked in, there was a whole kitchen! Stove, microwave, pots, pans, toaster, plates, etc and even this cute little Palmolive dish soap and sponge. We didn't use the kitchen but what a great option to have. There's a little couch area and table. We overlooked the pool and the forest. Beautiful view. Everything is clean and modern and upgraded. only downside was the conditioner was empty but it was to late for me to call them and ask for a new one. We forgot our toothpaste and called the front desk to see if we can purchase some. Jerry picked up promptly and friendly and told us they had complimentary toothpaste and even toothbrush. How amazing since nothing is usually free lol. Flat screen tv that tilts was a bonus. Oh and they have WI-FI. Will def recommend this place. read more

Due to my limited skills in making reservations we arrived with none! The young lady at the desk was very cordial and helpful. Since I wanted to use points she allowed me AGAIN to attempt to make reservation while in lobby. It immediately came thru. She could not have been any more pleasant! Or helpful! The room is amazing- so nice and fresh, and welcoming. New hotel but still fresh and clean smell. Huge room, couch/lounge, foot stools, kitchenette, and separate bathroom. This is our halfway point on our drive to Florida. We have stayed at numerous other locations around but the guest service here is the best in the area. Free breakfast and week day dinner is a great perk for this hotel. This Hotel would have gotten 5 stars but unfortunately the beds are not that comfortable and they make noise every time you turn or move. The only other thing that needs fixed is the water pressure. I have thick hair and it took 5 minutes to get the shampoo rinsed out. Fix these 2 concerns and you will have a 5 star rating from me :) read more
