This is the hotel from hell. I spent over $4,000 staying here because I'm working in Madison for 4 weeks and needed accommodations. The hotel says it's nonsmoking, but the place reeks of marijuana 24/7. The marijuana and cigarette smoke flood in through my bathroom vent, triggering asthma attacks every day and every night. I have throbbing headaches from it, my eyes are constantly watering, and I cannot breathe. I have had to go to the hospital and have maxed-out on medications due to the amount of smoke in my room. I have contacted the front desk a dozen times. Emailed the help relations line every day. I have text-messaged the help line. And although they all know exactly which guest is smoking marijuana- they refuse to do anything about it. They have not offered to move my room or to move his room so I could live somewhere without smoke pouring into the vent. They have refused to offer any compensation or discount or reward for the health problems it's caused me. The help line was very rude when I said I was having asthma attacks and told me they would refund my hospital visit. However after talking to the manager they refuse to pay for any hospital visit caused by their smoke. They refuse to let me terminate my stay early with full refund. I simply do not want to be next to his room so I can breathe at night, but they wont move his room or even upgrade mine to a different one. In addition - my room is filled with stains, mold, and water damage. I am on the third floor and the elevator has been broken the entire duration of my stay - with absolutely no effort to call someone to fix it. The hot tub has been broken the entire duration of my stay - with no effort to fix it. The breakfast says it closes at 9:30am but when i went downstairs at 8:59am they were already closing. The dinner snacks also close a half hour to 45 min early. I would think that after paying $4,000 I would at least be allowed to stay in a room where I'm not having asthma attacks every other night and need to go to the hospital. I cannot believe they won't do a single thing or offer any sort of help or compensation for this situation. At this point i'm going to see if the other guests complaining would like to file a lawsuit, this has been an absolute nightmare. Worst stay of my life - do not come here!!! I honestly feel like this place is hell on earth. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Soo first of all we booked a king size bedroom and they gave us a a double beds room. Staff was pretty friendly and room was pretty clean to but the room its really outdated for the price (personal opinion, I had cheaper rooms and looking much better and modern) breakfast it wasn't that bad. But the biggest problem for me was the pool and the jacuzzi! Pool it's open 24 hrs which it's cool but! They literally had mold and water looked greenish (dirty) you can even see the white and green mold in every corner so you can tell it hasn't been clean for awhile. The water in the jacuzzi smelled bad to and you could even feel the bottom dirty, when we noticed that we quickly got out of there. So final conclusion I won't recommend this place unless you traveling and need to stop to get some rest, but if that is not your case then there's better hotels around the area. read more

Not what I wanted to deal with after a 5 hour drive. I was really expecting to just check in and go to sleep BUT we were not given the room we had reserved and it was CONFIRMED that we had a 1 bedroom suite, with a king size bed. That is NOT what we got or what we paid for. We got a studio with a queen size bed. It's pretty tough to put a baby to sleep without that extra room and a toddler who likes to bounce around a lot in a small area. When we brought it to their attention at the front desk, they said, "Oh, well when you book through a third party like Expedia, you aren't guaranteed the room you reserved." WHAT?!?! It's confirmed lady that we got the room! I have a verification email with it! We booked through our Chase rewards program and they confirmed what you guys told us was FALSE. They see that you guys confirmed that we had a 1 bedroom suite with King size bed and that is NOT what you guys gave us. I had to call Chase to give me the price difference because apparently there was nothing they could do for us. That night sleep was horrible. Thanks for lying just to get us to leave. I do not recommend this place. It was clean but holy hell the customer service was terrible. On top of this, they didn't know how to use the credit card machine. They ran it 3 times telling me it was declined. I had a Chase customer service rep on the line and thankfully they walked them through it. But damn. This was the worst. Avoid this place unless you like liars. It took a lot for me to write a 1 star review. Normally I never give it but...you guys win. read more

Elevator doesn't work, the keys to the room don't work and you have to be let into your room. They wouldn't let us cancel our reservation, even though the hotels not even in an acceptable operating condition! Saw multiple guests that were upset and asked to speak to a manager, was told there is no manager on duty, and nothing could be done until the morning. Multiple guests that were told they couldn't cancel the reservations. The clerk at the desk was being snarky with people. This hotel should not even be open right now!!! read more

We were traveling by motorcycles on our way to Minnesota. We stumbled upon this brand new hotel. I can't remember the Managers name but he was awesome and very accommodating. I love this place! They gave me an upgraded room for being a rewards member. They have free dinner and drinks Monday through Wednesday. The breakfast had fresh fruit that was delicious. They also have coffee and tea available all day for guests. Everything was comfortable and clean. The location is also very convenient close to the highway. read more

Our family of four have become big fans of the Staybridge Suites. Our suite had 2 rooms, a king bed and 2 queens, plus a living room and kitchen. This works so well with our teenage son and daughter, they each have their own bed and bedroom and we have ours. There is a nice breakfast in the morning and a happy hour/light supper in the evening. Our kids like the unlimited pop, we like the beer and wine. Great rooms, good meals, and a kitchen if we want to save some money and cook. read more

The evening manager reception was very impressive. The managers served the food and were very accommodating. A light meal is served Monday thru Thursday evening. The parking lot is designed very awkwardly. Entry to the hotel is up a few stairs which makes luggage handling a struggle. The bathtubs are the plastic surround type. The bottom of mine was cracked. Overall a nice hotel if you need a 2 bedroom suite because of kids! New and very clean. I've been at other Staybridge hotels and they are usually loud. This is no different. I'm on second floor and third floor guest is very loud (thin floor isolation and neighbors can be heard. Water pressure a bit low. Pool was very nice and again very clean. Overall we are satisfied and most likely will come back. It was close to downtown and the children's museum which is why we picked this location over the west side. read more

I'm highly disappointed with my stay. The first thing we were told when we arrived was the pool is closed, and would continue to be closed for several weeks. Housekeeping never visited our room, and when we went to the front desk to get towels it was clear how understaffed this hotel is. A laundry cart has been outside our door for the past 24 hours, and now the cable TV is out. The breakfast was terrible (my food was cold). Also there's an elevator that's out of service that looks as if it's been through a war. The only positives I can say is that the room, beds, and showers are comfortable and well maintained. However, we could have had those positives at another hotel that doesn't cost over $200/night. Very disappointed. read more

Generally, I don't stay at suite types of hotels but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. My brother found it for all of us to stay at while in Madison for my uncle's funeral. It's a little further out of town than I normally like but it's five minutes away from TownEast Mall and places to eat so it was perfect for the occasion. Right off the bat, because I have Hilton HHonors card, I got 500 bonus points and a chocolate bar and a bottle of water from the staff. That was exactly what I needed. The room is large and had a fridge, microwave and a dishwasher. None of which I needed but good to know. The free WiFi was such a joy and it was fast too. Plenty of space to lay out my laptop and external hard drive. Bed was comfortable although i did get bit up by something - fleas maybe. Flat screen was new with plenty of channels. The free breakfast was also good - cereals, oatmeals, bagels, fruit, muffins, coffee, OJ - all perfectly suited for us. After the funeral we returned and all of us sat in their 'family room' to play cards and have some cocktails. Everyone was totally cool with that. I imagine that in the spring and summer this hotel stays very busy. One thing though, for some reason, they are not listed on the wall at the airport for their shuttle service. You might want to call in advance. If I ever travel with a large group to Madison again, I'm sure we will stay there. I highly recommend it! read more

My family and I spent two nights at Staybridge during a Badger Football weekend, and therefore very busy. The facilities are recently renovated, likely within the past year or two, and thus everything was in good condition. This is especially true for the price. The bed was comfortable, everything clean and comfortable. The breakfast spread exceeded expectations, and greatly appreciated. The fitness facility was really the only aspect of the hotel lacking. A cable weight machine, a cycle and a couple of treadmills. I would really like to see a set of free weights and a bench. Otherwise, sufficient. The pool was pleasant, good condition, and my kids had a great time. The location is not the greatest, being not as readily accessible to sites and destinations of the City or Region, but is reasonably accessible off the highway. Staybridge met or exceeded my expectations. I would return. read more

Booked it last minute for Ironman Wisconsin. My hotel rating is simple. If is a place I will go again it's an automatic 4 stars. Clean room gets a 4 stars as I don't use anything else in the hotel. Nate was so awesome! He was super helpful when we checked in. Everyone else we came in contact was very nice and helpful as well! The rooms were great and at a reasonable price. They were very clean and nicely appointed. In fact the whole place was very clean and smelled really clean. I love that there are quiet times I the hotel. Breakfast had lots of options. My only complaint is that if you are on floor 1 or 2 you will hear people walking around above you and it is loud. That's the only complaint I have about this place. read more

The company was unwilling to make the change even though the room was open on the west side and I was not changing my dates. I am so confused how a company can operate this way. Mostly a positive stay at this hotel. Two negatives: 1. Staying with a dog requires a $25 per day pet charge - pretty hefty. 2. The business center appears very capable, with two computers and two printers. But no one thought of installing Acrobat Reader or some other software capable of reading PDF files. I needed to print just a few pages before a business meeting, but I was not able to do so. This is really basic stuff. read more
