Clean room, clean bathroom, love the name on tv when you first walk-in. The view is nice if you get one facing East Towne Mall & busy streets. I was always greeted when checking-in & the employees are always friendly and kind to my kids. Those cookies upon check-in make a big difference. Even in my big adult years I enjoy those free cookies. I love that the downstairs bathroom by the main lobby and pool has menstrual products for women's. Hotels offering those REALLY care for their customers & that's why I'm giving this place a 4 star. A star was taken off because the breakfast isn't free. It comes in its own separate fee from the booking. If hotel offered free breakfast, oh you bet my butt this review would be 10 stars and I'd be telling the world they need to go there when finding a hotel to stay. Oh uh... on the downside... only nuisance I have really is this... the parking lots are full by or a little before dusk. You better get back to the hotel early or you'll be sorry when you return late in the evening. Finding that sweet spot for parking is going to be taken and you'll be parking in a different neighborhood! (LOL). I just blame the other customers for parking like they should get their drivers license revoked. There was some spaces that I could've parked in but because lots of people don't know how to park, it was a very tight spot, no one could get out or get in from any of the cars. SMH! read more

The pool is great. Beds were comfy. Rooms were clean. Parking was free (this is relevant in city hotel stays). Breakfast was $12 but AMAZING selection and worth it. The expanded gym is great. Note that you truly are only allowed to use it from 6 AM to 10 PM because there are guest rooms over top of the gym and apparently the treadmills are too loud. So if you are an extremely early riser, you are not allowed to use the treadmills. read more

Our evening flight out of Madison was canceled after 6+ hours of delays due to a snow storm, leaving us with no other option than to find accommodations for the night nearby. We chose this on a whim and arrived in an understandably sour mood. This was the oasis we needed. The premises were clean and fairly impressive for the booking price. The attendant manning the front desk at ~1AM when we arrived was cheerful, courteous, and helpful. Our room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast in the morning was good and had shockingly attentive servers. While we only stayed for a brief ~7 hours, my spouse and I were extremely pleased with our stay. If you find yourself in the area for leisure or similarly find yourself stuck in the middle of the night due to a canceled flight like we were, this is the place. read more

Very nice Doubletree with that perfect welcome cookie. The location was convenient to I-94, easy access parking, checkin was a breeze. Spacious room and bathroom. Great shower. The bed was comfortable, the curtains darkened the room perfectly. In-room coffee was good and the breakfast was excellent. Breakfast -- excellent service, good ambiance in a large open space. The chilaquiles, fresh fruit, coffee were perfect all the way around. Overall great stay and value. I'll certainly consider this Doubletree again when passing through Madison. read more

Stayed at this hotel a few nights while visiting friends and a local church. The hotel was very busy but the room was ok. We requested a room near the elevator and it was reasonably close. The bed area and bathroom looked and smelled clean. Price was more than we normally pay. Room had many lights but those near the bed didn't work. Tried switches near the door in case that triggered the lights but no effect. Lamp plugs were very overused and needed to push out the nightstand to use wall plug. That was inconvenient. read more

This is a really nice hotel. Huge atrium and pool and fitness center. They also have a Starbucks for morning coffee. The service is excellent and staff are friendly. The rooms are brand new and fully equipped. The bathrooms are really nice. Price includes parking and there is no resort fee. read more

One of the better DoubleTree properties I have been to. Large, clean and has plenty of amenities. The fitness center and pool area were quite large. They have an onsite restaurant and bar with Diamond members getting a daily credit. Room was large and well maintained. Staff was all friendly. Just a 15 minute ride from downtown. read more

I had a really lovely experience at The Double Tree. My room was much nicer than I expected and was very comfortable, had everything I needed. The staff was beyond wonderful. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and accommodating and my room service came on time every morning and was truly delicious. But the best of all was our shuttle bus driver, Austin, who took us seemingly everywhere and was such a delight. He was so dependable and all of us board members really counted on him getting us to and from our meetings on time and he was just the best. Looking forward to staying here again for our next meeting! read more

What a great place! We usually stay at Hilton Garrden Inn but the one in Madisoni is downtown and we wanted to stay be the interstate. So we decided to try the Doubletree by Hilton. Pleasantly surprised. Nice rooms, friendly staff, but the most impressive was the restaurant located inside the property. Tailwinds. Had cheese curds starter that was wonderful. Lightly battered with a hint of Spotted Cow!!! Blackened Mahi Mahi was exquisite! You won't find any better in a 5 star restaurant. read more

I have stayed here a few times in the past few months and have never come across anyone at the front desk that wasn't friendly or a room that wasn't super clean. Although it doesn't present like a typical Doubletree it has en expansive entrance with an indoor pool. As a diamond member they always have upgraded my room to a suite although I have had to ask. They offer water and the warm chocolate chip cookie and they also offer a 15 dollar credit towards the restaurant or the snack shop. On one occasion I had been working on a presentation and needed a notes version of it printed. The overnight front desk person was unsure how to get it printed in the format that I needed but he persisted and stayed on it until he got it to work. I will continue to stay at this property when I'm in town. read more

This hotel has been through a lot of different branding at various points. Overall, my stay here was fine. The rooms and lobby have been refreshed, although some of the other facilities (elevators, etc.) are still nearly much older. The staff was reasonably attentive, although they did not notice I was Hilton Diamond until I mentioned it to them. The biggest problem for me was the location. Being directly across from a mall on a busy street meant a lot of traffic noise in the rooms, and getting the room dark enough to sleep was challenging given all of outside lights. As a side note, there were some interesting people wandering around in the parking lot later in the evening, including one that asked me if I knew where to "score" in Madison.... read more

Mildew city. Usually these modern showers kind of address the moisture issue in new ways, this is not one of those places. The air conditioner unit paired with the excessive water makes for a moldy experience. I feel like I am sleeping inside of a fish aquarium filter. Madison you are better than this. read more

This was an exceptional situation: Had planned to stay here for 3 nights to visit with my mother-in-law, then start a driving vacation around Lake Michigan. Sadly, my mother-in-law (who was in ill health) would not make it through the weekend. This is when the manager, Lucy, took over. She arranged for us to remain in the same room for a total of 11 nights, left a condolence card in our room for us, and even a voucher for dinner in Tailwinds during our stay. This all happened during a VERY busy UW graduation weekend. As a result, we were able to plan and attend the funeral, visit with family, and tend to personal business without concern for our accommodations. I cannot thank the staff here enough. I love Hilton hotels and am a Diamond member. I stayed here on my last trip as the downtown Doubletree I normally stay at was completely sold out. I don't like giving very bad reviews but this place was not good. The staff were very curt and not helpful like I'm used to. For instance, a coworker that was staying at the same hotel was looking to buy a Starbucks coffee from their kiosk. The front desk told him to ask someone at the restaurant behind the kiosk to help since no one was manning the Starbucks kiosk. He had asked for coffee and the guy looked at him, and said, "No, I'm too busy," then went back to waiting on tables. When my coworker mentioned this to the front desk, their response instead of helping was "oh, sorry, that's too bad." I do not plan on staying here again. read more

I made a reservation on April 27 for the upcoming weekend (September 13-15) at a government rate of $144 per night. However, the hotel canceled my reservation due to a large event, as they now want to charge a higher price for the room. They did not notify me and are refusing to honor the reservation I had already made. They are price gouging and doing illegal activity. read more

Bed bugs are still a thing, apparently. The property did not appear unclean, but I guess the old adage "appearances can be deceiving" is true. After a two night stay, my luggage became infested with bed bugs, and I had numerous bites on my legs. read more

Really clean updated hotel. Rooms had plenty of space. Large pool and fitness area. Employees at desk were consistently nice and informative. While a little off the capital, Wisconsin u region where we usually stay,it was worth a cheap Uber ride or travel to get downtown for events. During a busy weekend of university of Wisconsin events this hotel was 200 dollar per night cheaper. 2 miles from Madison airport. Free plentiful parking. No connection to hotel just a traveler from ny who wants to give an attaboy. read more

I travel a lot for work and stayed at this hotel when it used to be another hotel chain. The hotel has definitely been upgraded from the rooms to staff. From the time we called the hotel about reconfirming our reservation for the night to actual checkin, Shannon at the front desk was a breath of fresh air. She smiled and was very professional during all interactions during our stay. We also ate at the newly renovated restaurant and bar. Austin also was very friendly and professional. He asked if we wanted to try the wine before actually pouring it for us. He gave great recommendations on the food menu. Employees like Shannon and Austin make a long day of traveling feel like home. I'm in hotels day in and out and this is by far one of my new favorite hotels to stay at when my work requires an overnight stay in Madison. Thank you Shannon and Austin! read more

Well yelp is not cooperating but here goes anyway. Got there and place looked terrific. Stayed in the same location years ago, different hotel. What a difference. Soon found out looks can be deceiving. Should really be called Double shrub. Checked in, had to ask for cookies for me and wife. No problem. Please note tons of warnings about social distancing etc.. Shortly after arrival many many families with kids in tow started arriving. Kids being teen sports players of both genders. Warning Will Robinson! Signed in and approached elevator with masks on. On way noted 2 large trash receptacles WAY overflowing and stacked with trash. They would remain that way for next 24+ hours. Tried to get on elevator. Only 1 of 3 were working. One was broken and one was for 'staff'. Gotta love this so far. Was told housekeeping would service room only on 24hr notice and breakfast would be at 7a. Had to leave at 4am for show so didnt even try for breakfast. Returned 5pm. Trash stack still there. Began elevator search. Every elevator that came to ground floor was crammed with giggling teens and giggled even harder when we decided to wait SINCE NOBODY WAS WEARING A MASK. In fact darn few people wore masks for our 3 days there despite NUMEROUS SIGNS requesting otherwise. Next morning I showed up for brkfst and the joke was on me. They had it alright but it ran 11.00 to 17.00 dollars. They proceeded to explain to me that it was a 'restaurant' and not a complimentary continental. No coffee either. Did have small unit in room but no sugar, cream OR coffee. Started getting used to these little constant surprises.High dollar Bush for low dollar results. Will be checking out in morn, happy to put this behind us but don't forget to mask up. The signs are watching. BTW, 2nd elevator, full of blonde giggling young females, was working this morn. Had to wait for 3 loads to elevate by before taking chance on one unmasked passenger. MAY THE COVID NOT BE WITH YOU! read more
