As a solo traveler, this place was perfect! First of all, Romina was amazing, amazing hostess with the most-ess! She literally knows everything and anything that's going on in Florence; and she even has her own app!! From the best tiramisu in town to live music, to the "hot new restaurant" - she'll guide your way. So this gorgeous "hostel" was previously an elementary school... gorgeous architecture with marble floors! (I'm sure not too many hostels have that...) But if you can remember your old small gymnasium.. well yeah, that's the main "lobby" part of Tasso, with a bunch of tables and sofas to lounge. And the gym stage is where Tasso hosts the frequent local music acts that play on the weekend! Yeah... how cool is that?!? :) My solo room was quite large, extremely comfortable bed... locker inside to stow my belongings. (Just remember to bring your own combo lock with.) Shared bathroom was totally fine.. i never had to wait; nor do I think I even remember hearing anyone else go in there. ?? Loved this place! It was a total yelp find.. I can't recommend high enough. And I'll absolutely stay here again with future visits to Florence. Being on the other side of the Arno was great... it was certainly "less touristy". I stayed in Florence for a few days, so I even found "my own coffee shop" that i'd frequent because I stayed at Tasso. Tons of charm... amazing service.... totally secure location... comfortable beds... and I met the coolest people from all over the world!

It is in the heart of Florence and a few minutes walk to everything. We had a deluxe double bed room, that overlooked the Piazza della Repubblica. At night, when the window was open, music from Caffè Paszkowski would filter in. The beds we comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was basic, but how can you go wrong with ACE juice and some Nutella on a pastry? Whenever I am in Florence again, I will be staying here!

The bathroom was completely different though, very clean and quite modern. We had no way of making a drink or even keeping water cold as there was no fridge. The Internet connection was poor very slow and even unavailable for some of the time. Florence is a lovely city and we enjoyed our stay overall.

La risposta dell'hotel:     *    Nessuna chiamata alla polizia o aiuto per sporgere denuncia     *    Nessuna assistenza dopo che i nostri contanti/carte sono spariti     *    Nessun follow-up sulla sicurezza degli ospiti o sugli oggetti rubati     *    Ci hanno detto di utilizzare la nostra assicurazione Inoltre, NON siamo stati rassicurati sulla sicurezza dei futuri ospiti. Quattro settimane dopo, ancora nessun contatto. Dopo oltre 15 anni di fedeltà come soci Hyatt, siamo sconvolti. Se dovesse succedere qualcosa in un Hyatt, potreste ritrovarvi completamente soli. They have a shared living room where breakfast is served or where you can relax and utilize their honesty bar. We went in May and there were a lot of mosquitos...I am guessing from the still water puddles leftover from the rain! Mosquitos must be common as the hotel provides free mosquito repellents for you to plug in the wall though! I would like to give this place four stars but we had some mix-ups that cannot be ignored 1.Upon check-in, we notified them we wanted museum tickets booked. The next day we came by and they were not booked so we had to pick a new day as the museum was sold out. 2. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport when we checked out. We waited in the lobby and were told our car was here. We were the only people waiting in the lobby. The taxi driver stopped at a random location and said here it is....it was not the airport! We told him we were supposed to go to the airport and so he called the hotel and apparently there was a mix-up! Who lost in this?? We did! Lost time and we had to pay for the extra taxi fare.

They have been extremely courteous, helpful in every detail and the amenities are really superb for a place I booked online. The SPA is very refreshing and budget options are available. The restaurant is great for breakfast and coffee, part of the nightly rate. Fresh fruits, juice, yogurt, breads, salads, meats, pastries, espresso, cappuccino - quite a value. Then there is an excellen t restaurant with a jazz club next door, and amazing coop grocery down an ally immediately adjacent and several bookshops and artisan villas in immediate proximity. Bus to town center and train to Rome is quick and easy. Walk to the river and the many bistros and bars thereabout.
