Virginia led a group of us through a plant and pot decorating class right in the store. For my first Steadfast event, this was well organized and we were well cared for by our host! It was a rare moment of art therapy for me. There were no rules except to paint. At the end, we got holy basil seeds and soil to complete the project. It is a neighborhood gift shop selling items from DC branded clothes, candles, soap, posters, baby misc items, plants and many more interesting and cute items. The store is dog friendly and they have a lot of dog treats for your puppies. Staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. They also offer classes every now and then so come check them out. When I travel, I love to shop local. I found Steadfast Supply on Yelp prior to a recent trip to DC. I stopped in a cold evening and loved exploring this store. All sorts of gifts and fun stuff--for yourself and for others! If you want a good souvenir, this is a great spot to get it, plus it's in a fun area (I grabbed dinner and ice cream at two other businesses nearby). I'm surprised I haven't written a review sooner! Before the pandemic I had the pleasure of browsing this store several times. It's a large store filled with all kind of local and artisan goodies. From clothing to jewelry, cards, and candy there's absolutely something for everyone here. And this is a great spot to bring out-of-towners to browse or a place to pick up gifts for almost anyone! The customer service has been top notch each visit as well as virtually. My most recent trip is all because I was wanting my home smelling better since I've been inside much more often these days. The website was easy to shop and navigate. I found a nice selection of candles with descriptions that made the decision of buying without smelling a risk I was willing to take. They had both delivery and curbside pickup options. I placed my order for pickup and the next morning got an email saying it was ready (a full day before I expected it to be!) Pickup was quick and easy and safe! I called the store when I arrived and an employee met me at the door for the handoff. She waited while I checked to make sure everything was correct which I greatly appreciated. And once I got home and de-masked I was so impressed with the amazing quality and smell of the candle I chose! I'll be back for sure! read more

Such a great spot to pick up unique (and locally made) gifts! You can seriously find something for just about anyone in your life here. It's especially a great place to go when you're looking for some*thing* for some*one* where you don't have much direction or insight into what they'd like. You'll find some inspiration here and will not leave empty handed. Last I was here, I purchased some earrings, a few healing crystals, a candle and a sweatshirt that says "Productive AF." Nice little hodge-podge of a bounty I came up with, ay?! Additionally, the staff here is always so kind and so willing to help. I totally forgot that they offer a check-in discount on Yelp and remembered literally right after being rung up. I asked it if was too late to use (because no biggie if it was) and she gladly corrected the transaction to reflect that discount. This is an absolute gem of a store. Great to see some retail joining the bars and restaurants around Navy Yard. So much variety and unique things from an assortment of local artisans and businesses. I'd read about Steadfast awhile back and made a mental note to stop by. After lunch at nearby Bluejacket Brewery, I ducked in and immediately started thinking up gift ideas. For myself, yes, but a little bit for other people as well. ;) You name it, they got it--pet toys, custom onesies, sunglasses, leather bags, jewelry, candles, incense, stationary, cards. The concept of providing a marketplace for area businesses is great in theory, and the way Steadfast has executed on their showroom is even better. Everything is well merchandised and the staff is very friendly. The woman manning the register took such pride in talking about the artisans and how the store helps serve as a launchpad for them. One line featured in the store was recently picked up by a large national retailer, so the store already has some successes under its belt. I resisted the urge to stock up on a bunch of stuff, but some some amazing weekend duffles, unique jewelry, and my addiction, modern pattern tea towels. My one selfish purchase was a neighborhood map of Shaw print from Miks Letterpress. Still not sure where to hang it, but I love being able to pinpoint my block and even my building on a print. Steadfast Supply is the most hipster thing in the very yuppie neighborhood of Navy Yard. It's in an industrial space right across the street from Blue Jacket and next to Philz Coffee. The concept behind Steadfast Supply is great! It's a collection of LOCAL designers and creatives under one roof selling a variety of goods from baby clothes to tables to artisan chocolate (From DC's Harper Macaw). The space is open and clean and the back corner has a variety of beautifully designed tables for anyone to sit at and bum their free wifi. The manager told us, "My home is your home." Based on the look of this place, you'd imagine the price tags are super expensive. In some cases, yes. A bar of chocolate is $12. However, they had designer t-shirts for $25 and a quality men's jacket for $85. Not bad! If you're in the area, definitely stop by! It's the beginning of SE turning hipster. read more

As I've been in multiple times now since they opened, I've been pleased to see a great variety of awesome local goods, from neighborhood-specific art to pillows to jewelry to clothes and just about everything else. I most recently picked up a beautiful painting of NoVa for a friend who lives there and was moving away. I've always found the staff to be really friendly and helpful if you're looking for something but you're not quite sure what you're really looking for. Steadfast Supply is exactly what I hoped it would be! Not only are they a small business, but they support other small local businesses. Each of the stations within the store highlight the items sold by a unique artist. The notecards, jewelry, beauty products, clothing, and home goods were all of great quality and it was very interesting to read about the people that made them. I love that they have testers for the mists and body sprays, which all smelled amazing and weren't overpowering! I will definitely be coming back for last minute gifts or when I am looking for something nice. There were many DC related items from posters to clothing that would be an awesome present! Everything was priced reasonably and you know it is going to a local artist/business owner. I really appreciated how helpful the staff were, without overselling the products, they seemed to generally love the store and products. They even encouraged me to check out the vendor's website directly, if I didn't find exactly what I was looking for in the store. It is clear that they really care about supporting the artists. When I briefly spoke to the owner, I learned that they started as a pop up and had such a positive response that they decided to have a permanent storefront in Navy Yard. I went to the place before it moved to the bigger space. I liked it when I first went a few years ago and love it even more. I love how they sell things from local artists and sellers. They curate very interesting things. I love the cards and candles.. and clothes and cool workshops they host. I love the windows instead of walls and I like how they use their space. It's important to me to buy local and natural products and steadfast has a plethora of items that meet this criteria. During COVID, they quickly pivoted to online orders which I really appreciated. I had a friend in NY that suffered many losses and Virginia helped me put together the PERFECT care package. My friend loved it and called me in tears because she was so thankful for her gift. I learned about Steadfast Supply in a very round about way. Last year at the American Field Event at Union Market in Oct, I found a jeweler I wanted to buy rings from. But then I spent $$$ on a lamp instead. When I finally found that jewelry maker online, I ordered some rings but she also told me she sells her jewelry locally through Steadfast Supply. So of course I had to check it out and buy more! The shop is in the Navy Yard among the strip of other shops and restaurants. It's a well curated shop filled with some really gorgeous things. It's not the cheapest but when know that you're supporting small biz artists both local and not so local (think Detroit), I don't feel so bad spending a little extra. I love creative spaces such as Steadfast Supply that showcase local artist and designers in the area. I find something magical and inspiring about the concept ever time. Every corner you look you will find something more appealing that the last piece. I wish I could spend more time looking at the intricacies of all the items they have available without seeming suspicious lol...I'm one for detail. My favorite purchases include "Chocolate City" matching tees for my boyfriend and I, as well as cute vials of essential oil roll on tubes to carry along in my purse.
