We were running out of options for a gift shop and came across this place since it was the only one still open. We're so glad we did! The owners are the sweetest people, and they have so many unique and cool items to choose from. We highly recommend stopping by! Sending our best wishes all the way from Houston! read more

Located at the McPherson Metro Station. This was one of the few tourist shops that was recommended to me while on vacation. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. After entering the shop, I was quickly notified of the sales they had going on. Staff helpful and in assisting with my needs. Shop offers variety of DC attire and other souvenirs. Metro Variety Shop - Metro Variety Shop - Souvenir Shops Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

If you need any souvenirs this is a great option, plus it's inside the Metro station. The shop is packed with various DC themed gifts. Some examples include magnets, stickers, shot glasses, clothing, hats and keychains. We got a few magnets + stickers and the cashier/owner(?) was very kind to us and the kiddo. I'd definitely stop by here again. read more

My first time in DC and we decided to stop by the Metro Variety shop. Maria was so very nice. She made sure we understood prices and that we were making the best possible selections. There were so many options. I would gladly go back and buy more if Maria is there. read more

Came here after I saw it mentioned in a Reddit thread for having good souvenirs. However, the shop attendants were very pushy to make sales. It's a small space and we were followed around from the second we stepped foot in there. Much different from other shops we visited. Ultimately, we did not buy anything. read more

One of the few Indian stores with clean and well arranged aisles. Very well stocked with all types of spices, food items and fresh produce. They do have a small Indian food kitchen but cannot compete with others near it. read more

Located us 14th Street and McPherson Square (Metro Station) as soon as you get off the escalators, you'll find the store to your left side. I've been to many places and souvenirs stores but this pace was just beyond my experiences. If I could I would give this place 10+ stars or more!!! Mr Chung greeted us with his jolly personality and friendly staff. He automatically handed each one of us a free magnets. Then he continue the conversation asking us what we looking for, sizes and recommendations. I normally like to shops in my own space and pick what I like, but Mr Chung was there to helped, recommendations and even offer discounts. As we check out, he even gave us free tote bags (the bags are real good quality) I think every penny we spend on this place was worth it, the freebies, the exemplary customer service, the hospitality was great and being the friendliest owner, and seems to care about his customers is always great for business. I will come back every time I need some souvenirs, and this is a highly recommend store to go to buy souvenirs while in DC area. read more

My husband and I were looking for souvenirs to take back home to our family, we obviously aren't familiar with the area, so looked on yelp and found this cute souvenir shop that had a lot of great reviews, and boy were they right, he had such cute little Knick knacks that were not the regular cheesy souvenirs that other shops have, the owner was the sweetest shop owner that I have ever met in my life, such a pleasure stumbling upon this wonderful one stop souvenir shop with wonderful Owner and crew.... read more

While the location for the store may not seem great, the owner most definitely is! We stopped by after finding the reviews on Yelp, and after everyone sang the praises of the owner. They were 100% right! He is super nice, and patient, helped me and my daughters find the shirts that we were looking for, and the prices were WAY better than any other souvenir store. There are a million souvenir shops in DC, but let me tell you this one is worth a visit. Just remember to go down the escalator like you are going to the Metro and you will find it. (Just around the corner from 5 guys). read more

This was a very pleasant find!!. The store is directly located opposite the escalators before you leave the McPherson metro downstairs. The store has a lot of traditional Washington type souvenirs, and a ton of Trump merch. I was particularly impressed with the 50% percent discounts they offered the day after. I wanted some unique items. I ended up buying some Trump pens, a nice berry-colored Make America Great Again scarf, plus a beautiful presidential seal tote with the insignia.. But one of the nicest things I found, was a tile with President Trump's photo in the center surrounding the other Presidents. This tile is something you don't see everywhere... you can hang it or use it as a heat proof trivet...It is very unique and special. Of course, they carry the traditional stuff; hats, sweatshirts, T-shirts, and hoodies are discounted now.. from paperweights, to pens, and keychains. Below were my special finds.. Prices were quite good considering what the vendors on the street were charging. Will definitely be visiting here next time around. Service was also good, and helpful. Shopping here was a winner! Prepare to spend some time here, take your time. No walking in the cold, just get back on the metro if you want or keep shopping! Happy Shopping! read more

Metro Variety Shop - T-Shirt - Souvenir Shops Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I GOT SCAMMED ! As many mentioned, the owner of this shop was very kind and friendly. He told my group and I that everything was 20% off and the keychains were 2 for $10. I thought this was a good deal so I got 4. I go to the registe, pay what he told me to be $ 21 ish and leave but before I leave he gives me a free key chain. At that point I was so thankful I had forgotten to even look at the exact price I paid or ask for a receipt. Later on that night I check my bank statements and see I got charged $49.79 !!! I'm a broke college student and I know for a fact that was not the price he told me or else I would not have gotten it. Anyways just wanted to share my experience so you all can be mindful going into this store to purchase something. - Any suggestions on what actions I should or can take ? I'm a tourist and already left Washington today so there's no way I'm going back to the shop. I'm going to call my bank thats the only idea I could think of read more

Located underground where metro station passengers enter/exit. Came in because it was close to where I was staying at. A nice little souvenir shop, awkwardly located inside McPherson Square metro. Hats, shirts, coins, mugs, etc. The staff is friendly and attentive. Most of the goods are half-off since they recently opened and are trying to build business. Pretty typical, but they have embroidered polo shirts--which are hard to find. read more

I feel so bad for this guy. He really is trying his best to survive and I hope he does but this pandemic has been so hard. His store is one of the best gift shops I've seen in the area and his prices are very competitive. I hope that if you are looking for souvenirs you give him a shot. read more

Wow what a neat store! I mean it's mostly typical souvenirs and t shirts. But Mr Chung made it a great experience! He listened to what we were looking for for other people and helped pick great gifts. He also threw in a shot glass, a T-shirt and a large tote bag for free! The prices were reasonable which made it easy for us to get a little something for everyone on our list. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Go say hello to Mr. Chung! read more

Great souvenir shop! Let's be real, most shops and booths contain the same items, however this shop seems to have just a bit more variety and selection even in its small space. Looking for late night souvenir shop to hit after dinner? This is the spot for you! When I saw the listed hours I was doubtful that it was correct but this place really is open until 10! The owner was extraordinary kind and helpful. He mentioned that his shop has been in business for over 40 years which is absolutely amazing. He was friendly and knowledgeable regarding his inventory. I couldn't find a certain shirt in my size and He was magically able to find it after a few seconds of looking! Some shop owners at souvenir shops can care less about customer service but his customer service was stellar. He was social and fun to speak to. After some great conversations with him he even threw in a few freebies for me! This small business is definitely worth supporting! It's downstairs so just look for the escalator and it'll be at the bottom on the left! read more
