Stopped by Steak 'n Shake in Bradenton and had a pretty solid experience overall. The fries are easily one of my favorite parts thin, crispy, and perfect for dipping. I also really like the scanning service setup where you scan to get your beverages. It's quick, convenient, and makes the whole process feel a bit more modern. I ordered the garlic burger and it was awesome. Everything was really well put together. All the toppings were fresh and the burger had good flavor. Service inside was a little slow, but honestly if you're in a rush you should probably be going through the drive-through anyway. If you've got a few extra minutes, it's definitely worth stopping in for the fries and a good burger. read more

Ordering terminals down. The one we found that was functional rebooted itself while we were trying to pay. So instead of having a human take my order you take 15 minutes out of my life. Does that sound right anyone? THEN found out this is one where you get a bar code for your drink that you have to scan every time you want a refill. Well guess what? The barcode wouldn't scan five times meanwhile people are lining up in back of us. then miraculously the barcode scanner started working for the beverage. Then--- 20 minutes after ordering and seeing a party of 6 who came after us, get their order before us, we were informed that a big drive-through order had come in and thrown them behind. !!!!!!! I attempted to visit this location Saturday night to pick up a DoorDash pickup around 11 pm. I tried walking inside and was told immediately to go thru drive because they closed the lobby. Which I did, I waited in line for at least 20 minutes. When I tried to give them my order number at the intercom, I was told to pull forward. When I drove up to the window a young guy told me "we are closed & to JUST LEAVE!" I tried to ask if he could check to see if it was previously prepared, the order had now been submitted over 45 minutes ago. He refused to allow me to talk and told me to JUST LEAVE! Then he shouted at me again "just cancel the DoorDash order and LEAVE!" Then he slammed the window closed in my face and walked away. When I had to pull up to cancel the order I was required to take a picture for my dasher app of the store hours. I noticed they decided to close sooner than the hours stated. Came in for a quick dinner, had a long drive to get back home and didn't want to waste a whole lot of time sitting around. Walked in and it's been a long while since I have been to a Steak'n Shake and didn't know you had to use a kiosk to place your order now. I have to say it was a very easy process to navigate. I ordered a combo meal and a Vanilla shake. My double cheeseburger came with everything I asked for on it. My fries were not hot enough as I would have liked but I consumed them fairly quickly, so it was not a huge problem. My shake was really good and forgot how heavy it was on my belly! Note to self, refrain from getting one in the future. One of the employees came into the lobby and asked all of the customers, how their meals were and if she could get anything for all of us. She was very nice and it was great to see that she was concerned about each of us in the lobby while we were consuming our meals. read more

Simple fast food served as it should be - Tasty I drooped by the Steak"N Shake in Bradenton to see the Monthly Cruise-In. I enjoyed the car event and decided to have a meal. I found the restaurant to be bright and clean. The food ordering was friendly and very easy with the self service stations. The food was delivered to my table with a smile and a friendly hello, hope you enjoy your meal. Everything was as I had ordered and the items were served hot. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Customer experience doesn't seem to be a priority. Waited 25 minutes in the drive-through for an order of large fries after 20 minutes. I parked and walked into the restaurant. Requested to be able to pay for my fries, my request was responded by a nasty look, and a yell saying " your large fries, walked in" I continue to wait for several minutes, no one ever came to give me my order, except my payment speak to me directly or provide any explanation as to what was going on. I started disappointed We stopped in today for lunch. I had read the most recent Yelp reviews beforehand and one area of complaint was the cleanliness of the restaurant. My first impression was the place wasn't very clean, water on the floor, a little trash here and there, tables not bussed. It was not a good impression, and we got to look around for more than a few minutes before we were acknowledged and seated. I was looking forward to a burger and a shake, and Steak 'n Shake is the place to go. For my lunch I chose their Garlic Steakburger and a Strawberry Shake with a chocolate topping. The shake was dropped off first, the burger not long afterwards. The shake was not good. I didn't ever think a shake could be bad, lacking some flavor perhaps, but in this case the chocolate part was terrible. It had the consistency of fudge and tasted so bad that when I got home, I even did some Google searches. I learned chocolate, especially the stuff from America, can sometimes be pretty bad. Butyric acid can be the culprit, and I'll spare you the details. Anyway, below the chocolate was the strawberry shake part, and that was fine. The visit finally got better. The burger was delicious, and the shoestring French fries were great. I love shoestring fries, the skinnier the better. The garlic part of the burger was the messy part, it was an oily mixture with garlic salt on top of the top bun. Every time I set the burger down, I had to clean my hands. Service was friendly and our server checked back with us a couple of times. You get a bill that you take up to the counter to pay. Prices were quite reasonable. My menu looked very worn like it had been used for years, so maybe they really don't raise prices often. read more

Papers and napkins, etc on the floors and it looks like they haven't been cleaned in eons. I ordered a chocolate peanut butter milkshake and it really was just a chocolate shake. Worst drive thru ever. Don't even waste your time because they will waste yours making you wait in line for too long. A drive thru is meant to go faster than getting out of your car and dining in. Went to this location, drive up, at 9 pm to find employees that were either smoking something or hated their job or a combination on both. As an example I asked for a large coke and the guy said we're out of large cokes. I then asked if they had coke and he said yes but no large cups. I guess it was just how he put it. Then when we got the meals he forgot the coke and I had to blow my horn. I told him I didn't get my coke and he rolled his eyes. He absolutely said nothing at the window, whatsoever, even when he first greeted me I handed him my card but nothing. Has anyone been to Steak'n Shake lately. It's all self service, no more waiters coming to the table. The ambiance is a little different since they have gone to this new system, a lot of menu items have been removed however their burgers are still very good along with their shakes. Very POOR customer service, if you ask for a manager problems still don't get fixed. My order was made online they messed it up 5 times. I finally asked for a refund and it has been over 48 hours! Not too long ago my Fiancé got a refund. The order total was $3.21 they only gave us a $3 refund! Be iffy when it comes to this development. Steak and Shake has cleaned up their act! The inside has been renovated, and was pretty clean. The service was good, and the food fresh and hot. Give them another chance, they've invested quite a bit there and it shows.
