First time here.... This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had the seafood pasta and it was outstanding. The location and setting is great , on the water. Service is outstanding. Will def be back here.

Food was great, the upstairs is super cute and really great views. Our waitress was also very sweet and nice and helpful. I had the lobster pasta which was so tasty. My husband had the citrus grouper which was good and a good portion. We got a side of bacon wrapped scallops as well that melted in your mouth. The Cesar that comes with fish was really good.

We shared a red snapper sandwich. It was very good and quite enough for lunch, with a side of Cole slaw. The sandwich is dressed with a slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce. There is a lovely, tangy dipping sauce on the side. The sauce had a little kick. I ordered my fish blackened. It had a very nice flavor although I did not really notice the blackened seasoning. It was very light.

Very interesting place, beautifully decorated, I got a cheeseburger and it was very good, however, the star of the show was the fish, there is dock access right next to the outside seating area, with catfish and sheepshead. If you throw any food in, the catfish attack it, it is very cool, a kid threw a whole salad which was cool to see. Good place

Dry dock never disappoints. Sitting outside with a view over the bay is great. We shared a Florida red snapper sandwich. It comes broiled or blackened. We choose blackened. It has a nice seasoning, I would have preferred a little bit more. It comes with Cole slaw (fries is the other option). The slaw is very good, not too much mayonnaise and has a nice bite. Also a small container of sauce. It is nice on the fish. It had a familiar taste, but I couldn't pinpoint it.

The ambiance was very nice and cozy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The views were amazing. The food was excellent. Everything looked and tasted very good. The customer service was great. I would definitely advice anyone in the area to go to this restaurant.

2nd visit here and it was as good as our first! Staff is very friendly and service very good. We had the Fresh Snapper (blackened) and the pasta with shrimp in white wine a garlic sauce...both excellent! The seafood here is amazing and fresh!

Food- Excellent, super delicious. They bring you bread and the bread was fluffy. Brought us parmesan cheese for our entree that is fresh sliced. BOTH Wine and garlic sauce super delicious as well as Tuscan cream sauce. Would recommend doing an entree of each to experience both. Service- Server Andrea, unbelievably hospitable, attentive and so sweet. Very friendly too and personable and really added to experience. Very professional all wait staff seemed very nice. The who I assume was manager at the front desk with headset seemed a little stressed and short (we only had to deal with her prior to sitting) but all wait staff was incredibly kind. Ambiance- gorgeous. Water views, nautical decor. Inside or outside is definitely perfect no matter where you sit. We took a walk outside after so just if sitting outside may have more mosquitos so be prepared. Parking-limited BUT had no issues on a Monday night with nearly every table full. They have backup spots in a neighboring lot worst case scenario. There was about 3-4 official spaces when arriving at 730pm and multiple people "unofficial" parking on the grass so that seemed to be an option too.

Wow. That is one of many words I would use to describe my experience at Dry Dock. We arrived with no reservation so we had to wait about an hour for a seat, it was very busy, but calm and not too loud. But with this we would recommend a reservation. We had the calamari and bread to start off, and it came extremely fast and was tasty! We then got the fish and chips, Tuscan cream pasta, and the kids marinara sauce pasta. It all was so fantastic and our waiter Tyler was just the BEST and we left with full bellies and happy thoughts!

My cousins and I were in town for a girls weekend and were told to try dry dock and it did not disappoint! I will say the host was a little off putting when we didn't hear our pager go off he came over while we were waiting at the bar and said "you need to keep your pager where you can see it" we apologized and hoped that didn't set the tone for the rest of our experience. We were fortunate to have Shawn as our server and he was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable about the menu and we took almost all of his recommendations and the food was absolutely to die for. Service was impeccable, he checked on us the perfect amount of times, the drinks, appetizers, and entrees all came out in a timely manner. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area!

We love it here. A regular for us. We always get the fried grouper tacos with rice and beans. The kids burger is so good. Beautiful views, no matter how hot it is we love eating outside there. Excellent desserts- always amazing key lime pie, and this time the caramel cheesecake was amazing. Great food, great service, great views. Make a reservation tho, sometimes it's hard to get a table without waiting.

The servers were amazing but the wait almost ruined the night. I had 8:15 reservations on the books for about 2 weeks. I checked in at 8 and did not get seated until 8:50. A few other people in the waiting area were also complaining to each other about having a long wait even with a reservation. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the elevator area so just take the stairs. The food was good though. I had the citrus grouper and it was cooked amazingly. It was nice and moist and came out hot. They have a good set of options for the kids menu but my son opted for a full burger instead of the slider on he enjoyed it. Price wise I think everything is priced fairly and when you make it upstairs to the main dinning area, it looks really nice. It felt like we were having dinner on a cruise with all the big windows that overlooked the bay. I would go back but they have to do a better job handling reservations.

Pricey but delish. Waterside dining is great but bring bug spray. The lobster rolls were great and enough for two servings.

Ask the Community - Dry Dock Waterfront Grill

    Is there a lunch menu?

They are open for lunch but I don't believe they have a specific lunch menu. They really don't need one as their menu is comprehensive with some ver affordable dishes. You won't be disappointed

    Is there music?

No live music unfortunately. Everything else is great!

    Handicap access? Elevator?

    There is an elevator

There's not a lot of parking here, any suggestions on where to park when the lot is full?

If it's for the evening, park on the lot on the opposite (right) side. I've been going there for over 20 years and never had any issues parking on that side (a number of others do it as well).

    Are you open on Thanksgiving?

No they are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Are you guys ok and open after hurricane Ian? Is the bridge from Sarasota to longboat key operational?

Yes the bridge from Sarasota to the Key is open and in excellent Shape. Also the way southe to the Key from Bradenton is open and in great shape. We were at the Dry Dock today for the first time and have made two future reservations.

    On line reservations?

    Go to Open Table

I'm confused are they're really closed for a week in august and September and more? Blocked off for reservations

Hmm they weren’t closed when we visited but it is possible they are closed at that time- I suggest that you call the restaurant and ask that question.

Is there a dress code during dinner hours?

It's Florida.... come as you are!!! Enjoy, it is fabulous!,

When does this restaurant offer happy hour and what does it consist of?

    No happy hour

Do you need reservations or able to walk in?

Yes you can still come in. We only reserve half the restaurant for reservations and the half for walk ins.

    Gluten free menu and options?

    Yes. A few

What time is lunch over and they switch to the dinner menu?

    They switch at 4:00 pm.

Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.

On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got there a little early for our reservation and they were immediately ready to seat us. They even made an effort to place us near the fish tank so our toddler could watch the fish during dinner, which I really appreciated. The restaurant itself felt more intimate than I expected. I've seen reviews mention the awkward layout, but I actually thought it gave the space a cozy feel. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't fully live up to the prices. Our waiter was kind, but we barely saw him during the meal and waited quite a while for drink refills. I'd also mentioned in the reservation notes that it was my husband's birthday dinner and our first time visiting, but neither was acknowledged during dinner. Normally that wouldn't bother me much, but with the pricing and the restaurant's elevated presentation - polished uniforms, fresh seafood options, extensive wine menu - it felt like there should've been a little more attention to the overall experience. My husband did absolutely love the coleslaw that came with his fish and chips, especially the pineapple in it, which he'd never tried before. I ordered the grouper tacos and thought they were okay, but not especially satisfying. They came with a salad, and I found myself wishing I could've swapped it for fries or a heartier side. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or misunderstood the menu options. Most of the crowd during our visit seemed older, and the restaurant definitely feels geared toward that demographic. While I don't think we'd personally rush back, I'm still glad we gave it a try. I also thought it was a nice touch that they offer a 15% discount to the ice cream shop next door if you bring your receipt.
