Had the Metro Club which was a triple decker loaded with ham, turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Came with a side of fries which were cooked perfectly. They have a large menu and serve breakfast items all day. This chain is well known for their chicken and waffles. Plenty of parking right outside. read more

This was my second time eating here. The food and diverse menu of Metro Diner is always a plus. We stopped in for a quick bite on way home. I may be writing an unfair review. Shortly after having a large breakfast I found myself in another restaurant. This one. Not being hungry at all, I skipped all those good diner food choices and opted for a soup and salad. I thought a good Chicken Noodle Soup with a Caesar Salad would be nice, light, and refreshing. The soup wasn't very hot when I started in, and the broth I had looked forward to tasted off. I don't know how it was supposed to taste from a Metro Diner, just didn't suite my palate. The soup had quite a lot of pasta squares. I did like the Caesar salad, good fresh romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, topped with a creamy dressing. Simple. We ordered take out and so it's hard to gauge food temps but I was pleasantly surprised. The pick up was quick and the workers were so friendly. The food was quite good. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was delicious. Son got the bbq burger and he really enjoyed it, cooked perfectly to his liking. My daughter got the bissell breakfast and it was quite good. Wait 2 minutes for the waitress to say she'll be with us; tells the party of 4 the same thing(another 3 minutes wait). Another satisfying dining experience in Bradenton. Our server was very pleasant and the food was hot when it arrived I. Short order. Worst service I've ever experienced. Server was vey rude and got our orders wrong. There was only two servers and when our server got our orders wrong she got pissed at us . Took over 15min to get a refill for our coffee. a fellow diner got tired of waiting for the coffee, that he went to the service area and retrieve a pot. If I had any intention of returning I would suggest better lighting and a manager that is on site. read more

Tonight was national burger date night. Went to Metro and decided to try a new burger on the special menu. The chorizo burger. Our table ordered the classic burgers a well. When the burger came to the table, the classics were big, meaty and juicy. The chorizo was half the size and over cooked. Notified the waitress and showed her the size of the patty. She went and notified the night manager. The waitress came back and said that corporate regulated the size of the patty and there was nothing they could do. That surprise me that corporate said to make the patty half the size of the classic burger. Just beware when ordering. Ask the waitress if the special burger is half the size of the classic and if still small don't order it. You'll leave the restaurant hungry and end up going to Wendy's like I did. read more

We have always enjoyed this Metro Diner. Unfortunately today with our family we were very disappointed . The food was fair (usually very good) the service was really poor and very slow getting to us, refilling coffees, checking to see how table was doing. We had to catch our waitress on the run to get refills & napkins, and even then it took a long time. At one point one of the waitresses Yelled from across the room to the cooks loudly several times about something. All in all not a good experience today at all. In the past we have always enjoyed a friendly, and attentive to the customers - not today. read more

We went there last night (Thursday) for a quick dinner which turned out to be an all-nighter. The place was packed and only two waiters and a hostess were working. Should have known better and walked out when we came in. Took 25 minutes to order our drinks and meal. After our drinks finally came it took another 30 minutes for our meal which must of been under the heat lamp for a while since my mashed potatoes were cold and the gravy congealed. Finally got out of there after an hour and 35 minutes. Management is at fault, not the waiters they were ran ragged. Used to go there often but not anymore. read more

Heard some good things about this place and finally got to try it out for lunch on a weekday. We were sat fairly quickly , our server Amanda was beyond terrific! She is very personable, knowledgeable and friendly! After we placed our orders, our food took perhaps about 10 minutes which wasn't bad at all.. The establishment smells delicious as soon as you walk in, I'm not sure what it was but I smelled waffles or something baking that gives you a home smell. I wasn't too sure on what to eat since we were told everything on the menu was good. I went with the chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries..it wasn't bad however it was a bit salty and I think it was because of the chicken.. my coworker had a different sandwich, but it also had fried chicken and felt hers was salty as well so we think that's what it was.. I don't think I would personally try the same thing again just because it was too salty for my taste.. however I did enjoy their broccoli cheddar soup. The service today was horrible. Rylee took my order and few moments later, served me my beverage. That was last I'd see Rylee. After another server served me my order, Rylee nor anyone else came back too see if needed anything else. Somewhat confused on how to rate. We went to Metro twice and really had completely different experiences. First trip everything was excellent. Fried chicken, fresh and hot. Biscuit soft and fluffy. Waffles perfectly cooked. Second time ordered mostly the same thing but different experience. Chicken was overcooked, biscuits were cold and hard. Waffles were hard. Always a great time at Metro Diner! I discovered this place years ago in their hometown of Jacksonville. They offer great coffee and very generous portions. I ordered the chicken tender salad for the first time and was amazed by the extra large portion that was provided to me. It was cooked very well and tasted amazing. Service was OK but not great. Not only do they have a gluten free menu, they also have both gluten free hamburger buns and toast! I ordered the pot roast and found the dish to be tasty and filling. The portions are gigantic. Enough for the hungriest of eaters or lots of leftovers for a meal at a later time. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out in a respectable amount of time. I received severe bites on my legs from BED BUGS on 2 separate occasions in a booth in this restaurant. The first time I thought it was the chemical they used for cleaning the booth. Manager assured me there was nothing used that would affect my legs The second time was much worse causing me to go to the doctor. My eggs were super flat, hash browns greasy, pancakes barely warm and toast had no butter on it. My husbands chicken was over cooked and coleslaw was the worst he has ever had. Five minutes into our meal, the music was turned up to a very uncomfortable level. The service was fine but the cook needs to go. Our waitress, Jessica, was pleasant...took our order..returned in a timely manner with the food...then DISAPPEARED! She NEVER came back to check on us. Never refilled my coffee. Finally near the end of our breakfast, I was able to flag down a young man who refilled my coffee's. I asked him for a glass of water for my wife. He said okay...we NEVER received the water. Jessica only came back after I asked ANOTHER waitress to ask Jessica for the check. Food is only 1/3 of the eating experience. Customer service is a big part of the experience. Food choices were great. I chose the Carnitas Scramble Bowl and was a bit disappointed. The Jalapeños Hollandaise drizzled over the top wasn't prepared well and separated--the issue of Hollandaise if you're not careful. I'd probably order it again and just have the Hollandaise left off and add more sour cream. My guest had a burger and fries and really enjoyed it. read more

Love this place I live one street light away food is always good and fresh but for some reason the last two times I've been have been a disaster I always order Togo first time was missing lots of items was told I had a credit under my husbands name for the next time so now here goes the next time and all of a sudden they don't do credits anymore I still ordered because I'm a loyal customer when I show up to pickup the girl is standing on the food line just waiting for food to come out (there's nothing there) I asked if she could check if my food was ready she said I had To wait and walked off 10mins later someone comes when I get home my food was extremely cold and messy didn't even call didn't wanna be rude to them wasted 30$ and now I don't even wanna go back read more
