This Steak 'n Shake is located right next door to Ayerco gas station. This particular location has a drive thru. My husband, our little girl dog and I were driving from Missouri to Iowa and decided to stop for a late lunch. Since we have never had Steak 'n Shake before, we thought why not check them out. We pulled off the highway and arrived around 2:10 pm. We decided to go through the drive thru, although it may have been faster to just go inside. We made an order at the intercom and pulled to the window when it was our turn. We ended up purchasing: Bowl of chili, $5.19 prior to tax- This chili came with a small amount of diced fresh onions on top. The chili itself was rather hot and thick, which I like. However, the styrofoam bowl it came with was messy with chili on the sides, making my hands covered in chili and oil (how delightful... wished they had wiped it before giving it to me and also wished there were more napkins that were included). I thought this chili was better than the one at Culver's, however I do like Culver's chili as well, but Steak 'n Shake chili is thicker and provided a stronger, bold flavor. My order did not come with a spoon. Luckily I had a plastic spoon that I had saved from another restaurant order previously but it should just be automatic that when someone orders chili, you should include it in the bag or tray (if you order inside). Medium fries, $2.99 prior to tax- Never got this order, as it was missing from our bag. Double Cheeseburger Combo, $8.99 prior to tax + making the fries medium size, $0.30- Not knowing that this combo does not come with medium size fries, the girl who took our order at the intercom had asked my husband what size fries did he want. He just said medium but really should have just said whatever the combo size comes with. My husband liked his cheeseburger. He ordered cherry coke, which was served cold w/ ice. The fries were okay but not warm. --------------------------------- (Total= $19.04 after tax) Our order was not ready when we arrived at the window. I understand that, as I am assuming that our order was made fresh. But the girl at first just gave us our small bag of chili and said okay and then closed the window. We just waited in the car, not knowing if we were going to get the rest of our order. Eventually the girl opened the window again asking what we needed. We told her, the rest of our order.... Eventually she came back with another bag. I had asked her for a spoon and also for our fries. She said it was in there. As I pulled the items out of my bag, she said that I was mistaken.... and asked for our bag back. We gave it back to her and she said it was there... even though I said those were the fries from the combo and not the addition order of fries that we had ordered (I had the receipt and gave it to her). She argued with me (as if I don't know what another side of medium fries looks like....). I asked to speak to a manager and she said there would be a wait. Please note that we were still waiting at the window. After waiting 5 minutes, we gave up and decided to drive away. I can see why the overall rating for this location is 2 stars. The service is just awful. This definitely deters me from going back to Steak 'n Shake if they are all like this. read more

The food was good, but I hate the new concept--damn technology. Can only order on screen--couldn't tell how to omit condiments I didn't want, so my cheeseburger had ingredients that I had to pick off. To get a drink was nerve wracking. Turns out theres a QR code you have to scan with an unlabeled silver contraption to cue the soda fountain. And there's little to no help from the few humans working. Great place to grab a tasty burger, onion rings, and thick shake. Everything was self serve so you just walk in, order, and find a table. All of our food was cooked to perfection, burger was juicy and greasy in a good way. The shakes were full of tasty toppings. Great way to get your Americana burger fix. read more

We ordered a grilled cheese, a bowl of chili extra crackers, and an unsweet large tea. We got a cup of cold chili, no crackers, a small sweet tea, and NO grilled cheese that was paid for. This location needs a lot of work. The service is terrible and the food isn't any better. Last week I ordered chicken strips. They told me the chicken strips have a five minute wait. No big deal. I assumed the food would be out in maybe 8 minutes at the most when factoring in how many customers were in the restaurant and what I ordered. It wasn't incredibly busy but it wasn't at a standstill, either. 20 minutes later I received my order. A basketball team came in and they received their food before I got mine... For starters, I left after waiting about 15 minutes for two double cheeseburgers. The place was hardly packed. Just another situation where poor management doesn't staff properly...or know how to manage! Typical "focus on the drive-thru" customers rather than the people that are actually in the store in front of you. Strange though because there seem to be about seven people in total. Not sure what all they were doing. One guy cooking those patties and one down some window burgers. Your burger joint. Do you think you have at least two people assembling burgers! Oh, and the only worker not wearing a mask, well a few had it down under their nose, but no mask at all...was the girl assembling the burgers. No mask at all and she's leaning right over all the cold fixings and dressing the burgers. OK so maybe he's vaccinated and she's young I get it. But still.. I walked out. I just gave them my $10 for two double cheeseburgers. This used to be par for the course, at least the bad service part, and steak 'n Shake more and more. This is a fast food restaurant that serves delicious steak burgers and shakes. You place your order, sit down, and they call your number when your order is ready. We arrived at 2:30pm on a Saturday and it was fairly busy. Appeared to be a mixture of locals and travelers. Our food was done first amd they called my number. Then after approx 5 more minutes they called my number again when the shake was ready. The tables and chairs are nothing fancy and we noticed some flies buzzing around. Despite that, overall, the visit was still a favorable experience since the food was so good. read more

Ordered with the online menu to have order ready by 6:30. Needless to say 6:53 and just got my order. They said hey didn't have Reese's outrageous so they didn't make it yet. 1 why is it on your menu to order then? 2. Why didn't you just make it without Reese's pieces and ask if I wanted a different something else added instead of just giving me a peanut butter cup? It's not hard to make a milkshake and shouldn't take this long. If I didn't pay online I would've left. To top it all of the place was disgusting it should be shut down. People wearing gloves then touch cleaning products not washing hands, flies everywhere. Bathroom was just as gross. Because of a long line at the drive through, I decided order inside instead. Glad I did. I discovered that not a single employee was wearing a mask in the middle of the pandemic. How many unsuspecting drive through customers have they put at risk by not following company protocol? Told an employee that we were not going to buy food from them because no one was wearing a mask and walked out. Yes, Steak n' Shake is slow because they are short staffed and they have been always short staffed, it's a small town what do you expect? Also, when you order from the app, it takes 20 minutes to reach our screens. We tried to tell the company so they can fix it, but they obviously don't care. I was a former employee there (Also a shift leader) to be honest they didn't treat me right what so ever. Maybe that's why they can't keep any people. But I know the struggle. People don't understand that our food comes right off the grill. Then sometimes we have buses come in and that'll back up on your order. They try there best. Wanting Chili Mac? Not here! Wanting Friendly and Fast Service? Look Elsewhere! According to the "help" (i say this loosely, since they're aren't helpful at all) this is a new branding of Steak N Shake. I've never heard or seen this Signature store anywhere else. Nice for them to advertise that. (and all of this means that the menu is way smaller than what you're used to at a Steak N Shake...they have burgers, fries, and shakes. No salads or chili macs) Hope you're not in a hurry for your burger, fry, and shake during lunch time (the time I was there). It took 20 minutes to receive my items....my cold fries and burger. When trying to let the manager know about the poor service and food quality (I believe her name was Debra), I just nothing but a rude comment and a stare from her. My daughter and I stopped here and I absolutely loved my burger - my daughter did as well - she said it was the best Steak 'n Shake burger she had ever had and I have to agree. So disappointed in this beautiful steak and shake. We had a bad experience a few years ago, and now just a few days ago (12-25-16, Christmas) we had another bad experience! The girl at the register took my coupons, but didn't tell me some of it didn't work, so the total was $2 off. Well what's the point of using a coupon then? The manager proceeds by telling us that this particular steak and shake doesn't take all coupons, and the girl "did the best she could". I told him he needs to tell him employees ahead of time that coupons don't work or are not accepted before we put in our orders. Well to save me my $2 I told him I wanted a refund for my milkshake (free with coupon). The receipt clearly shows she charged me $2.99 plus tax. He only refunded me $2.30 plus tax, and said well we already made the shake so you can have it or I will throw it in the trash. I told him I didn't want it and he insisted I take it several times. It's definitely not even about the money, but the fact that he didn't do it correctly. I said I'm not about trying to get free food. You and your employees should've told me ahead of time that your coupon isn't working. So he proceeded to give the shake to his employee and said very loudly "it's not that big of a deal". After he said that I was livid and walked away. After our food was prepared my parents and I ate it and left very unsatisfied. Merry Freaking Christmas. I think the managers name was Roy. I frequently go through Canton, MO for work and I decided this past week to try something different by going to the Signature Steak n Shake. I had a great experience. The breakfast was wonderful and the store was very clean. Staff members greeted me when I walked in and were very friendly. I had my food within 10 minutes and it was delicious. The coffee was fresh and the fountain soda machine was very different with a WIDE variety of beverages. I would recommend Steak n Shake to anyone going through the area. read more

I enjoy visiting this "signature" steak and shake in Canton. I had very prompt enjoyable service for my family and I. Their staff were all very friendly to both my kids and I. They greeted my wife and I with our 4 children the second I walked into the door. My children aren't always the easiest to please at a restaurant but they enjoyed being able to add what ever flavors they wanted to their sodas!!! The food was ready in prompt time (great for small children)! I will defiantly continue to visit this great, kid friendly restaurant. read more

We paid a little over $38 and received 2 burgers and 2 fries. The receipt showed only those 2 items. There were 5 of us. We received our food quickly, even the "rest" of our order. However, the attendant that took our order walked around the diner cleaning tables, scowling at us the entire time. Last thing, nearly every table was dirty!
