Absolutely the best Steak 'n Shake we have ever eaten anywhere. Driving back home from Orlando to Tampa the traffic was as always horrendous. To take a break we saw the road sign and turned in and as it is easy on and off the Interstate. Fresh burgers (though their announcing every order with that fact gets annoying when ready). You order at the kiosk which means accurate orders and then they call your name. Our burgers had nice crispy edges and made exactly as requested. Fries and Shakes were perfect with a Banana and Vanilla flavor that was perfect. It was clean and a great experience and kudos to the owners of this location as the Manager on duty, to the food and cleanliness was the best experience at a Steak n Shake anywhere. read more

The girl taking me and my friends order at 11pm, 8/4/26 was very snappy, impatient and flat out rude. The bun was stale and the fries came unsalted!!! Matter of fact they didn't even give us ketchup. So weird fact about me is that in 2010-2011 lived in Lakeland for a while and this was the very first Steak 'n Shake I ever came to. So it's super random that I ended up here again 15 years later. The service was friendly, the place was clean but the food was hit and miss. The shakes were of course a big hit. I miss the personal touch of wait staff and cashiers. But this is a kiosk ordering system and you pick up your order when it's ready. The pick up station is next to the drink machines, so you fill your drink when you get your cup. The burgers and fries were good. We got them just the way we ordered them. They came up quickly, too. We were there 10 minutes as the cook had 5 sandwiches made just sitting next to the grille the whole time. I've been coming here for almost 20 years. This place has been a bookmark in our life. Every year my wife goes on a business trip and every year I bring the kids here. I have a whole photo album year after year showing their growth at S'n'S. The food is affordable. They used to have great 'kits' for kids. Cardboard cars to build, paper hats, place mats to write on. This year was the last year we have been. The table service is gone. The kids' kits are gone. The kids are teens now, so it doesn't matter to us. The straw that broke me was the QR codes for the drinks. I don't do that. The food is still solid and affordable, but literally everything else I appreciated about the company is gone. The CEO stripped the culture and fun out of the company only to make them lose less money. I won't participate anymore. read more

Wanted to leave but forced to stay. We sat in the drive through line for 25 minutes before we got up to the intercom. And once we were there we waited for several more minutes before anyone came on. And once they did they stopped listening to our order halfway through and disappeared for a little while. They were rude when they got back and all I ordered was one meal. I never write reviews for places but had to because the service here is horrendous. Also they set up a new coned off barrier with plastic chains zip tied to it so we couldn't even leave the drive through line if we wanted to. Fast food? Definitely not fast. Ordered a medium fry and a milkshake. There was barely a drive thru line and the restaurant had 2 families that ordered before us. We got the milkshake after 10 minutes, but waited 25 MINUTES before the fries came out. Nobody came out to check on us, by the time we finished our milkshake, we still waited another 5 minutes for our fries. The employees seemed more concerned with the drive thru and when we were given our food there was no mention of the wait time, any apology, or any compensation given. For dinnertime on a weekday, at a well-staffed establishment, I would expect better. read more

How many epic fails can one location have??? Here we go. This locationil is FILTHY. Windows are so dirty it is hard to see in or out them. Tables, booths and walls were desperately needing cleaning witj food residue, grimy kid hand prints, and just dirty. There is no care taken in this location whatsoever. Anyway, servers are gone so you are forced to order at a kiosk. Then seriously it asks you to tip. Tip who? Me? The order taker? Me the order picker up? What a farce. Only much smaller paper cups now, and they skimp on the mix ins. I even paid extra for more butterfinger and oreos. Never could tell. I also paid for honey mustard sauce. 60 cents and guess what? Not on our tray. My son asked the lady at pickup to give it to him with the receipt. Nope. She all but accused us of taking it off the tray. She was less than nice or fiendly bShe sent him to the cook area who sent him to a manager to get it. We have to run around because of their mistake. It felt like the condiments were locked up. Grrr. Clearly they are penny pinching here but they should have apologized for forgetting it and just handed it to him, instead of passing him around for a cup of mustard. I can now see why their stores are closing by the dozens. This chain which was once good - has spiraled into the garbage can. Every fun part of dining here for kids, paper hats, paper cars and coloring are gone too. Someone should call the health department and report them. If the front of house is grossly filthy, imagine what the cooking and prep area looks like. There is no one wiping tables off in between diners. I've given this place PLENTY of chances to deal with their issues but I'm done. First, their app has a twenty minute lag. So your ASAP order slotted for 12p pickup won't even be received by them until 12:20 then they put it in line so your 10min order is over 40min. That's bad enough but when you go into the restaurant and show proof of your order and payment, they refuse to fill the order. Second, they NEVER get pickup or delivery orders, especially delivery, correct. I'm always shorted food and it's never made as ordered. Third, they refuse to deal with 3rd party delivery issues, when they are the ones that take the money, not the 3rd party. Had Doordash immediately credit Steak n Shake for the driver bringing Panda Express, not my Steak n Shake. Steak n Shake has ignored both myself and Doordash. This place has really gone down hill since moving to the kiosk system. The dinning room was filthy, I had to go behind the drink station to find a cleaning spray just to clean a table table because every available table was nasty. I should have taken that as a sign and left then. Food came quickly but it was cold, it was like they had the food sitting in the back waiting. It was not fresh at all. Burgers is about the only thing good here. They have the best burgers anywhere compared to all the Fast Food or Diner Places. The Milshakes are awful and have a very bad odor to them. As for ordering, they make you use a Kiosk (which I don't mind using), but they ask for a tip when you get ready to pay. Thays not cool. You NEVER leave Tip when there iss NO Service. These people Make about $15 per hour as it is. And if you don't leave a tip, what are they doing to your food. Corporate needs to get rid of the Tip part of the Kiosk or Go Bankrupt. read more

Like, it looked like someone literally squashed them flat... and they were on top of the rest of the food in the bag so I know they didn't get mashed by the other food. 3. The fries were so nasty! They were so cold and wrinkly and floppy. The limited time these things spent in a fryer was a distant memory. 5. Nothing had any flavor! How about a little pinch of salt? 6. The Kid got a tiny soda pop with the kids meal but it was undrinkable. It tasted like straight up chemicals and syrup. Soda is chemically anyway at the best of times, but this was just toxic. I ordered a kids meal with a Dr pepper and a kids Cotton candy shake, a number 5 with a sprite, a number 6 with a sprite, I wanted chili cheese fries with those and was told that they don't make them anymore. I then ordered a cup of chili to make my own. I finished my order by adding in a Reese's chocolate shake and a cotton candy shake. I was told that my total was 36 and change. I was surprised that it was such a great price for everything I ordered. Waited about 15 mins to get my order only to have everything shoved at me. I received everything but my order which was the number 5. Then the girl lied and said that she repeated the order back to me although she clearly did not. She did not close my shake correctly and it spilled all over my clothes and car. She made me feel like a liar then she had me pay for a whole other meal but at this point I did not need a drink anymore and proceeded to order a 4 dollar meal of the single burger equivalent of what I ordered (the garlic burger. They were mad that I had to order it at the window and threw it together and added extra extra sauce and it was so messy that I had to park and walk in to get it remade. I spent over $40 just to be treated like garbage. I was not rude I didn't even raise my voice. I even offered to pay for my burger, park, and walk into the restaurant as to not hold up the line. Had to cancel order & go to another kiosk & put order in all over again. Then you have to go pick up your own order at the counter. Absolutely no service. The condiment cups that you put ketcup in are so tiny you can dip just a couple fries in them. Had to go back and get some more. Food okay but not great. Will never go back again.
