Large serving of hot fried chicken with sides

Very cute store where I bought a few mini spice shakers. The food was all very generous portions. The biscuits were so good and came with our meals. The meatloaf looked very dry, but actually was quite moist and delicious. The chicken and dumplings were just okay; I prefer the dumplings that are like a ball and smaller pieces of chicken. The fried chicken was just okay as well. I got the 3 entrees and 3 sides, and the Mac and cheese, hash brown scramble, and cinnamon apples were all pretty good. The staff was all very friendly. My husband got the steak fries and hush puppies which were decent. Overall, it was a decent meal for the price and portions!

This location requires quite a few turns but is worth the mapping out. It was late, and Cracker Barrel was open offering something beyond the standard late night bites. I appreciate the all day breakfast menu, but was tempted by their dinner sampler options - going with the 2 meals (Meatloaf and Dumplings) but 3 sides. I was not expecting it to be so large for the price! In fact all the portions were very generous in our party. Despite the layer hour everything tasted freshly prepared and the service was just as welcoming as it is during the day. Our server was attentive, and even offered us waters to go which was much appreciated. I don't usually go for the dinner options, being a breakfast lover especially outside of typical breakfast hours, but after this experience I'm eager to try more of the dinner options.

We were driving from St. Petersburg to Jacksonville today and decided to stop here for some breakfast. There were a few people in front of us in line but we were then seated. The restaurant was pretty full. The menu offered about a dozen different breakfast items. They start serving lunch at 11. I had the bacon and egg breakfast casserole. It was good and also came with two biscuits. My husband had the grandma special. It came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, ham and one other side. He chose cinnamon apples. We both enjoyed our meals. Service from Tiffany was friendly and good. They also have a store with many items to buy.

I love Cracker Barrel! I got the pot roast meal and it was just delicious! I am disheartened they changed the decor inside but it is more open and brighter inside, the service is always friendly and I will always be going back!

Meowdy y'all! Had a great time, very impressed with the large portions and fast service. Thankfully this location retains the classic old logo. Hoo boy don't get me started on that new woke logo!!

This is a great location in an old federal building. Nice decor for this Smiths American Tavern…read more The bartender met us at the door, due to it being the middle of the day, and business being a bit slower, and we opted to sit at the bar. He was very social and answered all our questions and socialized about personal life as well. We ordered the Cuban eggrolls, and they were quite good but had smaller cubes of ham as opposed to pictures showing slices in some older pictures posted to this establishment. The drinks were spot-on. Although I may sound disappointed, I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu that they have to offer. I plan to return to try more. Recommended!

The atmosphere is dive bar friendly and there are so many cool niche areas for photos. Really loved the raised unfinished ceiling and the naked white brick wall which covered the side wall of the tavern. When you enter there is a hostess to great you. And our server almost appeared immediately. She explained the menu to us and the specials. What a great first impression. Unfortunately, there was a key piece of info we missed. There is a full bar, draft beer options and a decent wine selection. I ordered a draft beer and a flight of Mimosas. The beer was good, the mimosa flight not so much. Oh, and they have brunch specials on Saturday and Sunday, including unlimited mimosas at a 2 hour limit. For food, ordered the classic breakfast plate and a breakfast burger. Food was pretty good, but the burger was from a frozen patty, so not the best. Unfortunately they have some policy where they charge an extra $1 for the eggs. It is posted in the front, but nowhere on the menu. Suffice to say that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They did remove the $1 but it took more effort that I would have liked and unfortunately the review and the server's tip suffered as a result.

One complaint: each table features a card advertising happy hour. Although we were there during happy hour, drinks are not available at the happy hour price. Our waiter was as confused about that as we were. He said the cards had been there quite some time. Misleading if not downright deceitful. I love this place too much to make a fuss, but I felt like my loyalty had been betrayed.

I ate about 4 bites, asked for some honey mustard to hopefully offset it, but it didnt help. Finally I told the waitress I couldn't eat it. She offered another entree but I tasted my husband's steak and it was salty, so was my baked potato. I drank all my water while I watched my husband eat dinner, noting his sweet potato looked like pudding. He sat his birthday card on the table after we ordered, but they didnt offer us a dessert menu, just asked if I wanted the check. I paid for both dinners and THEN the manager came by to apologize, adding that all the chicken arrives pre-marinated so they don't have any control over it. Wow, they don't get fresh chicken? Did not offer to refund my dinner or a complimentary dessert. We left and will not be back. This was at the Longhorn in West Kissimmee, off hwy 192, not Lakeland. Never again!
