Did a mobile.order today. When I went inside to get my order, I noticed that one of the cooks was cooking without a hair net. Her hair was in a ponytail, but it was a long one. The staff was friendly. My wait wasn't too long either. Food was good Nd shake was amazing, as always. I would eat here again.

I have always enjoyed eating at Steak and Shake. It's the best fast burger joint in the business, IMO. I ordered the Wisconsin Butter Burger and Fries. Absolutely delicious. Love that griddle taste. I will definitely be returning. RECOMMENDED.

Update: Jan. 1, 2021: Came here with my husband and 3 kids for lunch. I'll keep this blunt and to the point. We were seated at a dirty table. Someone promptly came to clean it though. Our server got everything wrong - probably because he wrote it on his HAND instead of paper. Ordered 4 milkshakes. Got 3. Never got the 4th. My husband burger order never got turned in at all, so our food was cold by the time his came out. My daughter didn't get cheese on her CHEESEBURGER. When asked about it, instead of bringing her a fresh cheeseburger, he brought out a cold slice of cheese on a saucer. My husband and I both asked for the regular Steak & Shake seasoning on my fries, and I specifically asked to make sure it was the regular, NOT the Cajun because it's too hot and burns my lips. He brought fries covered in Cajun seasoning anyway. When we told him it was wrong, he brought us a small condiment cup of the correct seasoning - what are we supposed to do with that? Put it on top of the Cajun kind we specifically said we didn't want? I had to ask twice for new fries before he finally reluctantly brought them. My husband never got the correct fries. My daughter asked for chocolate milk. He brought her a milkshake. At some point during our visit, he just left and went walking into Walmart parking lot. I had to go to the counter to get refills for three of us, at which point I asked to cancel the milkshake that we never got. When we got our ticket, the milkshake was still on there. Seriously. It wasn't even busy. There were only 2 other tables with customers in there, and it was 3pm.

not too bad, as fast food goes. A little pricey for what you get. The burgers are much smaller on the plate than they appear in the menu.

My photo isn't particularly pretty, but you can see I got 2 bites of everything I could fit in my first buffet trip so I could decide what dishes I wanted to enjoy more. (Which I did!!) Arrived and surprise, they are gone and now this place has sprung up. We decided to give it a try, upon entering the smell was delightful and the fella that greeted us was bland. Opted for the lunch buffet as a way to get introduced to many of the dishes here. Food was dull and cold, very sparse and almost like we were 10 minutes from the end of the day. It was noon. Tea was sweet and served in copper looking glasses nice and cool, would have enjoyed refills. Dude working front was only person we saw and may have been there alone, didn't see any real activity from kitchen area. We were the only seated customers. Several folks came in and got take out orders ordered ahead and one guy got 2 buffets to go, never saw any more (fresh) food make its way to the buffet while we were there, odd. For the price and quality I may try the menu but the buffet is a no from here on out. May just be me but this felt like we were allowed to dig through leftovers but charged a premium price.

I was gifted a gift card for Christmas so I decided to test the waters. I knew I wanted breakfast food even though I was using it for dinner. When I looked at the menu the one thing that caught my eye was the Strawberry Stuffed Cheesecake Pancakes. The menu picture was beautiful. I also got scrambled eggs and bacon. It was a takeout order and it didn't take long for the order to get ready. I arrived at the restaurant and it was raining a little. Luckily I did curbside pickup. It had stopped raining once the person came out with my order. When I got home I was very ready to eat. I can't remember what I tried first. That really doesn't matter. One thing I do remember was the minute I took my first bite of the pancakes. It was divine. That is not an overstatement. The cheesecake filling combined with the strawberries and pancakes was so delicious. They were some of the best pancakes I have had in my entire life. The bacon and eggs were good too but the main character was definitely the pancakes. I really enjoyed the meal.

The waitress brings the hash browns and takes the grits back. Then I noticed there was no sausage. My sister asked her to bring the sausage. She brings the sausage and get this, says the kitchen told her to take a piece of bacon back. WHAT??? Also I had ordered a beer, and she carded me. I'm 69. This is the most appalling customer service I've ever had at a restaurant, now everybody we know will know about this, and you have lost a customer.

Because this spot is not pretending to be anything. This is full-on, unapologetic dive. And I mean that in the best possible way. You walk in and it's like the '70s, '80s, and a little bit of someone's '90s basement bar all got together and said, "Let's not change a thing." Old banquet-style tables, a bar top that feels like it's hosted a thousand stories, and walls that have clearly seen some things. I loved it immediately. Now let's talk food. The folks next to me were deep into the chicken and dumplings and talking about it like it was a life event. You know that kind of table chatter where you start reconsidering your order mid-bite? Yeah, that. I went shrimp po' boy... and no regrets. Shrimp fried just right. Crispy, flavorful, doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Solid sandwich. The fries... eh, they showed up a little tired. Not terrible, just kind of there. A little cold, a little soggy, like they'd already had a long day. But here's the twist. You don't come to Judy's for perfection. You come for personality. For the feeling that you just discovered a place that doesn't care about trends, doesn't need a remodel, and definitely isn't chasing Instagram. It just is what it is... and somehow that works. Fold this into your expectations. If you need polished, keep driving. If you want real, pull up a chair. It's fun. It's different. It's got character for days. Four stars. And honestly, half the star is just for staying exactly the same all these years.

I had the seafood basket with a side, Caesar salad. I think the menu had it listed as six shrimp and two catfish fillets. Mine came with two fillets and four shrimp, the shrimp were quite small like 36-50 size, and very chewy. The fish was greasy but fairly moist, with decent crunch. To clarify the issue with the size of the shrimp, most restaurants in the area will serve 26-35 or larger with an entrée. The Caesar salad had great flavor and plenty of crunchy croutons and romaine stems, there was a few brown and wilted leaves mixed in so it was kind of off putting once I found those. The bread that came with the platter was lightly toasted but flavorless, took one bite, left the rest. Service was fairly lackluster, which is unusual given their high level of service at the downtown location. My side salad came out with my entrée at the same time, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine, but maybe I should've asked that it come out ahead of my hot food . I just usually assume that most restaurants do this so maybe that one's on me. Neither my fish or shrimp were very warm, almost like they were waiting on the salad? Also, it was kind of creepy that a lot of the servers and staff were just standing around leaning on the walls at the back of the dining room, just seemed off. I actually came in here, wanting to have their tuna sandwich, which I've had in the past at the other location and it was phenomenal. Sadly, it is no longer on the menu. We'll definitely come back here and give it another shot because i do like the menu options and atmosphere.
