This is the worst Steak 'n Shake I have been to in so long This is like a half Steak 'n Shake they don't have half of the things that the other ones have but this store is the nicest looking one!! I got there at 8:25 to order two burgers through the drive thru. It took 20 minutes to get to the window. Then another 25 till I got order. Which was wrong, then asked for my drinks an the lady at the window said I didn't order drinks. When I clearly paid for them. This was by far the entire worst place I have been to. We walked in 8:30 mind that, and we were immediately told that they were closed. The lady at the front counter simply rolled her eyes and told us to turn around they were closed. There was two couples that have obviously just been seated in the diner room. Smyrna new Steak and Shake near Nissan. We were a little surprised that this Steak and Shake was not like most others, it was like a McDonald's fast order. We placed our order and waited. After waiting twenty minutes, and talking to a lady that said they've been waiting 40 minutes, I asked about our order; the girl said they are working on it now. Another 20 minutes went by, so I went up again. The young guy acting as manager checked on my order; he returned and said sorry to say, my order was not even started. So, the girl just lied the first time. I asked for a refund, and we left. There was no owner/manager on site; the young guy said he was just appointed to be manager that night. Obviously, the owner of this franchise doesn't care enough about the store to be on site for the first week of opening. read more

12 employees in the kitchen, yet it still took up them over a half hour to get orders out, despite not being that busy. When we got our order the food was cold, the order was completely wrong, overall it was a very terrible experience. A friend had to toss their burger, because it was cold and hard. Most Stake n' Shakes have slow service, but this one is by far the worst - terribly inefficient and most likely mismanaged. Too many people were just standing around doing very little, they should be grabbing brooms and cleaning tables because the restaurant, despite being new, was dirty. One employee who was supposed to be refilling the ketchup, was just standing there blocking the entire condiment and drink lid section, browsing friggin' Instagram on her phone! And no hot pepper sauce on the tables at all, that's a staple of every Steak n' Shake I have ever been to, and my favorite part of the meal, and what sets Steak n' Shake apart from other burger joints, leaving me no reason to ever go back. read more

Went there about 2:20 in the afternoon I wanted to avoid the lunch rush. There was 3 of us we ordered separately. 1 person had $1 off any sandwich purchase coupon, could not use that coupon because they do not sell sandwiches according to the manager. We each had a steak and shake coupon and each time the manager had to ok the coupon. When we ask a question from the cashier she would roll her eyes before giving us an answer. She was very rude. It took 20 to 25 minutes to get our food. The first 2 orders were good. My order took the longest my food was cold the buns were like they just came from the refrigerator. There were lots of employees standing around. The inside was not very clean the bathroom was the worst. My sister told me they had bad reviews. I told her they just opened and to give them a chance. The very obvious eye rolling and the dirty bathroom and the cold food. I think iy will be a long while before I try them again. read more

Although we've been hearing negative reviews since this restaurant opened I was trying to keep an open mind and assume that the restaurant is new and they are working out the kinks. My family and I decided to eat there on December 13th around 7:00 p.m. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. My first red flag was with the cashier that took our order. She gave the impression that she didn't like being there. She entered our entire order on the screen by hitting the screen really hard with her knuckles. We sat down and waited for our order. I noticed that the restaurant was really dirty. There was a milk shake that spilled all over one of the tables, trash all on the floors, etc. There were two families that came in after we did. They got their food and we're still waiting. I finally went up to the counter after 20 minutes had passed. I asked one of 14 kids (we counted) behind the counter if they had an idea of how much longer it would be on our food. The cashier yelled out that she was waiting on the chicken tenders. As I'm going back to my table I noticed that the family that came in after we did had a little girl that was eating - yes, chicken tenders! After we had waited a total of 25 minutes they finally called out that our food was ready. I'm assuming by the way the kids behind the counter were treating me that they didn't appreciate me asking how much longer it would take to get our food. These were some of the loudest, most disrespectful teenagers I had ever seen in a customer service atmosphere. It was so obvious the way they were treating us that the manager followed us outside to ask if everything was okay. Needless to say, this was my first and last trip there. The manager should be embarrassed to allow his staff to 1) stand around horsing around 2) be disrespectful to their customers. We go to the Steak and Shake in Murfreesboro frequently. They have very nice employees there that treat the customers really well. We've never had a bad experience there. This is the very first negative review that I've ever written, however I felt like something needs to be done before the restaurant is forced to close down for a lack of business. read more

This place is horrible. Cold food, rude service, and you don't get your order the way you order. Also don't go by the menu either, they do not do the 4 for 4 , nor grill cheese, the bacon burgers I was charged for bacon, when the sandwich is suppose to come with bacon. If you order no onion, no ketchup, you get it anyway. I called to ask about all the above here, and pretty much felt like she was saying tough crap, you get what we give. Wasn't looking for free food, but when you order your food, that your paying for, that pay's their payroll, then you should be able to get the right food, and if it's not served correct then they should offer you something either your money back or make the order right. First time there, last time there. Threw my food in the trash. The hamburger I honestly believe came from the refrigerator , it was so cold. Scared to eat it....
