Well first off I wouldn't give them even 1 star but here goes. Me and my husband order a number 6 which is the Western BBQ n Bacon steak burger. Literally as so as we fill our cups and sit down they bring out our plates, it was only 4 minutes since we ordered. Our fries were cold to the point where they were unbearable to eat. On top of that the burger meat looked plastic around the edges and cold which mean it was reheated in a fucking microwave. On top of it all, the guy has his adult family in here sitting at the front counter with his grandkids running around and no they are not paying customers either. With all that the ketchup and mustard bottles are covered in a white sticky residue which i assume if they washed them in hot dish water and scrubbed them they would be clean. Oooh let's not forget the Christian contemporary music we are be forced to listen to blaring over head. The milkshake ordered didn't even come in the tall glass glass. My husband opened the the ketchup and mustard bottles and old crusted material fell out, that wouldn't be there if cleaned nightly. Every table was dirty and I to request our table to be cleaned. There was 15 cars in parking lot but only 5 tables used. The soda area is covered in spilt soda and trash. Trash cans covered in fries and ketchup. Trash and food under all tables. Floor is filthy. What does the kitchen look like. This is the worst service at a Steak n Shake we've ever received. read more

Terrible customer service. Unprofessional, bad hygiene, and the food made me sick for 3 days..

We walk into steak and shake and everything starts off normal. We order our food and sit down. 10 minutes later our food came out. Fries were crispy but the burger didn't have lettuce, mayo, or tomato on it. (As requested) All that was put on it was ketchup and pickle. But it gets better. 5 minutes later we see this big dog and its owner who apparently works at this establishment walking outside. This very large dog then proceeds to bark up a storm in the drive thru. One employee said that the dog scared the (insert sware) out of him. The staff seems to think this is normal. We look up and no staff are anywhere to be found. Shocking. After we finish our food we stand up and there is a random 10 year old kid running around the kitchen and seemingly flipping burgers. Health hazard??? We quickly left and were shocked with this restaurant. Please get management down here. read more

Service is the pits! They've been open long enough to have this figured out! No table service and no signs to advise you of that. Sitting at a table, they walk by like you are invisible. After you finally figure out you must order at the check, clerk is surly then food is S-L-O-W to come out and is tepid at best. DH loves their steakburgers so next time he needs a "fix", I'll go to the drive-thru or talk him out of steakburgers. read more

I've been here a couple times now. The food is very expensive, usually cold and the service is questionable. The last time I came here, and I do mean the LAST time, I ordered onion rings. But I was watching in the drive-up window and saw the server put in french fries. When I told the person at the window that it was suppose to be onion rings - he argued with me like a kindergartner. He made no attempt to look up the order, just stood there and argued with me. I finally took the order and left. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at this location. read more

I come here often. Food was a little bit above average but found a hair in my frisco melt, cheesy fries weren't as good as usual, and server was not very smart. Also vacuuming the floor while trying to eat. read more

So I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and the bacon was not even cooked it just look like they put the bacon in the microwave for 30 seconds. And while we were waiting for our food, I saw that they put spaghetti noodles in the microwave. Like come on steak and shake. That place is a dump. read more

This location has both dine-in & drive through, very clean, following COVID-19 guidelines & a friendly crew. Izzy was my server & was excellent checking to see if I needed anything three times! Ordered my food & it came out promptly & was correct. The chili mac was sooo delicious. I usually order extra meat topping. Glad I didn't... they had placed three scoops of meat on the noodle. Lucky me that my work travels brought me this way & I have to come back again next week! I know where I'll be stopping again!!! read more

Taylorville Steak N Shake won't be opened long if they continue with this kind of so called service. My husband and I both ordered double cheeseburgers, fries, a cup of chili, and a drink. It cost almost $30.00. They didn't give my husband the fries so he had to go back. Then they were cold. We will NOT be going back to Taylorville Steak N Shake again. We go a lot to the one in Forsyth. Reasonably priced, great food and awesome service. It is such a shame that Taylorville's is giving the rest a bad name. read more
