Leaving work at 1:20 I place an online order to be ready at 2:15. I arrive at store early to see my food bagged and sitting out. I ask to cashier if that was the 2:15 order and she said "it doesn't say that on the ticket". I ask if it will be warm for me and she assures me it will. I hand her my Mastercard to pay and she asks for ID. I am 100% sure it is against Mastercard's terms of service to ask for ID on a signed Mastercard. It was also a business card so not sure what she had planned to do with my ID. I left..won't be back. Called the GM Lora Wynn and asked her about the 2:15 ready time and her disregard for Mastercard terms of use and got nowhere. She pawned it off on owner and her sign on the door. Being new in town, I had come to eat here weekly..shame this store sent me packing with draconian ID policy and not being able to take and prepare a "future order". Here are MasterCard's rules: A merchant must not refuse to complete a MasterCard card transaction solely because a cardholder who has complied with the conditions for presentment of a card at the POI [point of interaction] refuses to provide additional identification information, except as specifically permitted or required by the Standards. A merchant may require additional identification from the cardholder if the information is required to complete the transaction, such as for shipping purposes. You are definitely not "protecting" your customers by opening them up to identity theft. As a Mastercard merchant, you should follow the rules. read more

I've been a customer of steak out since I was 19 or 20, I'll be 40 Aug 3rd. I order from them 2 to 3 times a week some months, but definitely 5/6 times a month when my money's low. I know I've been a great customer for 15 yrs when I lived on grant st. Se and the same since moving to 2012 Montgomery st SW these past 5. Anyway I've only had to complain a couple of times and they always made things right, until thurs night when I placed an order online like I do nowadays. I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a dr pepper, simple enough. I always tip good and most the drivers want to bring my order because of it. I always ask for a cup of ice and to add to the bill, and about 1 outta 3 orders for them to bring change for 100$. This time only the ice was in the instructions box, which by the way I didn't get. No biggie order went through so I go sit on the porch and wait I ordered st 5:07, at 7 I call to find out what happened. First I got a rude woman that tells me that the delivery guy called before leaving to see if he needed to bring change for 100, which wasn't in the Ins box, but ok.so because my phone was in my trailer and we are on the porch I had no clue. I've never been called to verify that before and if that's what they said it said why didn't he just bring change like any other time, no big deal but because I didn't know he called he didn't bring anything. So I called at 7:21 trying to explain she was being rude not trying to make things right and say sorry or just we will fix it and have it out as soon as possible. No she wanted to argue her point and I said ma'am will u please just bring me my food that I've been waiting on and she basically said yea and hung up. It finally got there in probably 30 minutes and the driver apologized not even knowing what happened ( and he knows how good a customer I am) . Well when we started eating our burgers i couldn't believe how cold they where ( basically the ones made over half hrs ago) outta spite. I've never once in 20 years had a meal that was cold from yall, maybe a hard potato but never cold, and paying 30 dollars for 2 burgers with tip that is so unprofessional and could also make a person sick. My name is Robert Allen Mitchell and I know that in the computer database u can see how much money i spend with steak out consistently and i had to sleep on it so that I didn't call and get outta character. I really love y'alls food and want to continue giving u my business I just feel like I should be compensated with a new meal or my money back if yall don't want my business anymore. If I do instruct to bring change about 1outta 3 times and they say that's what I wrote why call to verify it this time (I've never been called after placing my order from yall before, not even by new drivers that have trouble locating me , , to just not come). I wanna hope that this was just a mistake that will never happen again because I even have my email confirmation at 5 that only says Cup of ice, but the receipt from 7:21 she put bring change on the receipt . BUT GIVING ME THE SAME BURGERS FROM ALMOST 3 HRS BEFORE IS UNCALLED FOR. This is the second time ordering from this location, it is horrible, the manager Jeff is rude,disrespectful and ignorant when it comes to customer service. After ordering our food and waiting over a hr, Jeff calls to say they don't deliver to our location..... We just had food delivered last week from there.( which the service sucked then also,but after a corporate email saying it would be taken care of we were going to try it again) I would not recommend this place to anyone . read more

Always pretty good. It's an easy let lunch if you need delivery. Meats are usually cooked right and of decent quality. Potatoes can get old every now and then but the salads are mostly fresh and cold. read more

I ordered a New York strip steak medium rare and it was well done. The three burgers we ordered were very salty and didn't come with mayo or anything. The baked potatoes cane with enough toppings for one not two!!! We are a brand new business in Decatur and a new member of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce. Today, we drove around to introduce ourselves (not sell anything) to our fellow Decatur businesses. Being Monday after lunch, things were going great and all businesses were very welcoming. We walked into Steak-Out at 1:15pm and were greeted with tremendous resent as if we were the enemy and offended the owner by even stopping by. Glad I didn't have lunch there, because they have FOREVER lost me as a potential customer. No surprise they have such poor reviews over the last year!!! The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. As far as steak goes in this town, they're the best! If you want a steak but don't want to deal with a walk in restaurant, I highly recommend them. They also have a larger assortment to choose from that I'm sure you would love. read more

Ordered the child's chicken sandwich, chips, death by chocolate cake today while I was home sick. Order came in a timely fashion, was cooked perfectly, and everything was correct. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-start was that I'm not a fan of mousse and they have changed the layer cake to include mouse and it is not nearly as good as the old recipe. read more

I tried to give them another chance today call but wanted the manager to do the order but with a very nasty attitude said no he will not before I could explain the reason I want him to do the order he hung up on me.
