First impressions, everyone is super familial and friendly. I was greeted enthusiastically upon my arrival as I perused the butcher shop looking for a specific burger patty blend. My guy helped me out and gave me a nice combo of ground up cow to make the ultimate, thick burger. I was also there for the hibachi which wasnt until 2 but they let me pre-order for later pick up. I got the filet mignon with chicken and shrimp. Very clean, fresh and delectable. I wish there was a teriyaki sauce to pull it together and I thought I had too much rice and not enough proteins for 45 dollars but, I would order it again with less rice, more veggies and some sort of sauce. I was also given a sample of the churro that they were serving outside but didnt get a chance to grab some as my arms were laden with my purchases and my hood Kool aid. I don't think it's worth the price. The fried rice texture is not my standard. I am Chinese so I know what fried rice should taste like. My mom and I decided to check out Steaks LA after seeing all the great reviews, and I'm so glad we did. This place is such a hidden gem. The butcher had a beautiful selection of steaks and greeted us with a big smile right away. You can tell they care about quality and take pride in what they do. The hibachi was the real star, seasoned perfectly, super flavorful, and the portion was huge. Definitely got our money's worth. Customer service was excellent too. I ordered the filet, lobster, and shrimp plate for $55 plus tax. When I got home, my boyfriend separated the food into three plates for me, my son, and himself. As I started eating, I realized there was no lobster at all on my plate. We immediately called the restaurant. The lady who answered first said they could Zelle it, so I asked if she could simply Zelle me the price difference for the lobster I never received. She agreed at first, then suddenly changed her mind and told me to come in instead. I explained it was pouring rain and very inconvenient, and again asked for the Zelle. She refused. When I asked for a manager, the situation got even worse. The manager was extremely rude. He told me to take a picture, even though the food had already been separated and partially eaten because we were hungry. Instead of asking the cook if the lobster was actually put on the plate, he accused me of lying. I made it clear I wasn't asking for a full refund -- just the lobster I paid for. He said he would Zelle me, and I could hear staff laughing in the background. He never sent anything. At this point, it feels like something they do often, and I definitely felt scammed. All the way from Sydney Australia and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my trip in LA. That was one of the most incredible tasting meals I've had in the states to date! The chefs were 10/10 and the flavour of the meat was incomparable. We almost weren't able to make it but I made sure we fit it in before our flight (which is in 4 hours!) The market has several cuts of meats, drinks and snacks. The owners are friendly & helpful. It has a family business feel - although I didnt ask but there were some older kids that helped with taking orders and checking people out! It was great to see the kids helping! As for the food-top notch!! The hibachi plate I got was steak/lobster/shrimp! The filet mignon was tender and the lobster was juicy!! The flavoring was perfect and they give you several other side condiments such as garlic sauce and a spicy sauce too! Dont forget to get the noodles!! They are spicy and delicious, they go well with the plate which already comes with rice and veggies-yum! I want more just writing about it!! Im definitely returning & bringing visitors here!!
