The cute dog the barista was apparently not allowed to pet

This is hands down the best coffee shop in Denver! From the customer service to the ambiance to the espresso itself, it's always an amazing place to be. Yes the drinks can take a bit sometimes, but it's a testament to how many people love it plus the unique way they prepare their drinks. Additionally, the baristas are some of the kindest most friendly people and make it a huge part of why I keep coming back. Reviews complaining that one of the baristas just spends time petting dogs and saying the store needs a remodel (to help with the volume mind you), is invalid as that particular instance that barista was on a break, which every employee is entitled to. So if you're looking for a drink made in 2 minutes, go to Starbucks. If you're looking for an amazing neighborhood vibe with amazing people and amazing espresso, this place will never disappoint!

Charming ambiance. Lots of space inside and out

Everything was excellent every time I visited this charming coffee shop. Very friendly and efficient service! Literally every person working was smiling and apparently love working there. The pastries were fresh and delicious and the coffee was tasty and hot. Highly recommend!

Steam is kind of an awesome place to get your favorite coffee drink if you're in the Platte Park neighborhood. On a recent Monday afternoon I had a great experience - the baristas were accommodating and the atmosphere was relaxed. My americano, although not the best I've had recently, was very, very good - there was a bit of acidity and a sharp edge that the almond milk didn't quite mellow. What I loved about my most recent visit was the service, no attitude and frankly a pleasant interaction that felt genuine. The coffee shop had the usual laptop crowd with a contingent of students studying intently before an upcoming holiday break. I like a quiet coffee shop and on this visit Steam was the perfect place to catch up on my reading. I have been here before during coffee rush hours and all day Saturday mornings where the cacophony doesn't permit contemplation and reflection. You are forewarned. Steam is located just south of the main business district, but still within walking distance, on S. Pearl so street parking is easy. As usual mind the parking signs for resident only permits and street sweeping days. I'm glad I came back to Steam; they're still serving good coffee in a classic Denver neighborhood. Recommend highly.

This is my new obsession! This patio is truly something to write home about. So much space & seating available. There is shade from big, lush trees. It is the perfect setting for your end of summer time outside I got an iced latte and my husband got a steamed lavender latte. Both were fantastic!

My colleagues and I met here for a cup of coffee and snack on a weekday morning. It gets packed very quickly - there were no seats inside by 9AM so we opted for outdoor seating. The patio is exquisite - it's peaceful and has lovely landscaping. The drinks were pretty good, and I LOVED the gluten free food options available! Great vibe; I definitely plan on being back.

Chai was perfect, you can do sweet or spicy or mix. I did mix and it was a great balance! Very cozy and bright with lots of natural light and windows. Workers were so kind and helpful. Steam is one of my top coffee stops in Denver!

I love this coffee spot!! It has easy parking to find when coming here to work and hang with friends. The outdoor patio is amazing and big and open. The coffee is delicious and has multiple options for food and drinks. I love that they have gluten free food options too! My sisters were visiting and loved this spot too. We had so much fun hanging in the patio. It was super busy but the service was quick and easy. Highly recommend checking out this coffee shop in Platt Park!

Since the pandemic, I discovered that things have changed with the set up and that the orders are placed outside at the side window - actually, I love this idea! While it worked just fine inside, albeit always a bit of a tight squeeze because they're just so darn popular!, this option was really convenient and works wonderfully. The line moves quickly, there are several seating areas outside (I think there was indoor available for after you picked up your order but, I did not confirm - it was such a beautiful day to be outside anyway! The menu is pretty much the basics and several syrup options - I don't need fancy, just good coffee. They're also super doggo friendly ~ two dogs in front of me with their owners together and one of those pups was clearly a regular based on how quickly he jumped up to the window to get his biscuit... and another.... and another... the final jump, I was sure he was going to get himself up and into the window lol! Pricing is reasonable for the inflation we are all feeling at this time, service is very friendly and fast, and my Chai Latte was perfect. I decided to add a touch of caramel that really took it up a notch - asked for a smidge and got a smidge! If you're in the area, check it out ~ it has a very cozy, neighborhood feel and there were clearly many regulars there but, they treat everyone like a neighbor - what more could you ask for?

You have to order outside at the window, even if you're planning on staying a while. This was a bummer for a few reasons. First, I could not see any of the food items and second, there were only to-go cups, a massive pet peeve of mine. Coffee was pricey for tasting mediocre. I had a hazelnut latte and the amount of cinnamon heaped on top was overwhelming and I couldn't really taste anything else. They have a ramp which was good so I could navigate my stroller inside. However, no changing table so I had to change my infant on a blanket on the floor (never a fun experience). There was also an unpleasant smell upon entering the shop. Small tables were scattered about and some had outlets for working. They had a little free library inside which I always love to see. Overall though, I was really disappointed and can't say I'd have a strong urge to return.

Even with a full house, the place was very quiet, people respected the "wfh coffee shop" culture, and did not seem to be talking loudly or taking meetings. The drinks were great, not too fancy, but my Matcha was yummy. We also tried a gluten-free zucchini bread and a lemon pound cake which really hit the spot. Prices are pretty fair, and I had no issue finding street parking even on Broadway, although I had a busier time of day, I can imagine it might be more difficult. I love that this place was open later and I would definitely come back I know people have different remarks about the Wi-Fi, the staff gave us extra Wi-Fi codes in case we ran out, yes, there is a timer and you have to make a purchase, but they are very chill about it and will give you a new code if you run out
