They are so hardworking here with how busy they are, but consequently food and drink can take awhile. They serve Bonfire Burritos (heated up) which is nifty. The coffee itself is alright. This is such a good spot! The inside is so warm and cute, and it's right next to Cheesman Park and the Botanical Gardens so the perfect spot to grab coffee before a nice walk around. I had one of the very best spicy chai lattes I've ever had here; I really prefer spicy or sweet chai, and they nailed it. The perfect amount of kick. Got it with almond milk warm. They also had oat and coconut milk. There were a small amount of pastries, including some small vegan and GF loafs (pumpkin, cinnamon coffee, lemon poppyseed, some other one.) haven't tried it yet cuz I'm bringing home to my partner but I got the lemon poppy seed one. First off, the two young ladies at the counter weren't super friendly or welcoming but when I stood right in front of the ordering counter one of them immediately assisted me. I call it okay service. This coffee shop is pretty quiet. Most of the bar seating was taken when I arrived at/around 2pm so I went through the glass door to the left (west of the shop) to sit in one of the couches in the Botanical Gardens' facility building next door. They had a good variety of both savory and sweet pastries displayed upfront. Art work (although not too mu) represents nicely at to a coffee shop right at the Gardens. My cappuccino was amazing. The same young lady who took my order made it. She did a great job. Like I said, the service wasn't super great but it wasn't horrible either. I love this coffee shop! A cute place to stop for a bit, hop on your lap top, chat with a friend. I only say for a bit because it can get pretty busy and there's only a handful of seats. My bf and I make our own pour overs at home so we buy bags of beans from different places around town. I'd have to say Copper Door consistently has the beans I'm looking for. Light to medium roast with some fruity notes in it. Lots of others are too dark and meh. If you're a member of the gardens, you can 10% off your order too. Other plus about this shop is it's women owned. So come support if you actually like good coffee. read more

What a gem of a spot next to the botanical garden. They don't have 16oz cappuccino but the latte is great. They have different flavors including lavender. Yum! Cooper Door is an automatic must visit for the hubby and me when we visit Denver. There's a bit of nostalgia since we used to hit up the old Stapleton location every weekend and we still mail order beans from them now that we live out of state. On this last visit, we checked out the shop attached to the botanical gardens and were just as satisfied. Parking can be tricky if you go during a busy time and it's right off York so crossing the street can be stressful if you don't use the crosswalk button. I digress. There are a few tables outside, tables inside and tons of plants and succulents to go with the whole botanical gardens theme. The coffee is always good here. I ordered a double espresso as well as a cortado with oat milk. Both were smooth and a hint of berry from whatever roast they were using. The hubby always orders an iced vanilla almond milk latte. And we also grabbed 2 bags of beans to go. They make their own strips which I think is a must for any quality roaster. Deliver quickly, the beautiful tan color deliver the boosted I needed for my afternoon slump. The flavors amazing with notes of dark chocolate and the creaminess of the whole milk. A heavenly match. Service was delightful and the crew full of smiles when we walked in. I was worried reading other reviews if baristas with an ego, but that all faded after I placed my order. It went down very smooth. They also have kombucha in cans available for purchase, though the only flavor they had when I went was watermelon. I take away one star because it is pretty pricey. I paid a little over $7 for a medium. The space is bright and airy, and they've got one of the better patios in Denver for those nice days (but the sun doesn't touch it). This place has easily become the best part of my morning routine. I started working from home in June and I've realized it can start feeling pretty lonely (even for an introvert!). My daily serotonin and human interaction come from my morning routine of a walk in the park and a coffee run at this place before plugging in at work......and all I can say is that Im laying im bed right now thinking about waking up tomorrow and going to grab my iced latte at this spot. I've been on the hunt for the perfect beans. I found Copper Door online and fell in love with their story - women owned. Amazing! I walked in and asked the woman at the register if we could talk beans and she was ALL about it. It was like I was the only person in the world at that moment. She educated me and we talked all about their different roasts and we talked about what I like and don't like. Such a great experience. She even let me sample the River Rock Blend, which was the one I was interested in (and ended up purchasing). For an unassuming space, this shop hits the spot. I ordered their seasonal latte, and it was good. I always feel good when walking into the shop as the plants and ambiance are very warm and welcoming. The croissants are so huge and perfectly crispy and fluffy! The coffee I would say is ok - hence docking one star. Working from home here is a hit or miss as it can be really busy, and WiFi is hard to connect to as a result. Pricing for coffee and pastries is average with the city, about $6 each. Parking is hard as it is all street parking. The entire city is like that so I don't consider this a downside; however, there is the botanical gardens parking Deck if you'd like. They do not validate that. While staying with friends in the area for a week, we came by Copper Door three times and now that I'm home I long for a Watermelon Palmer on a daily basis. So, I'll start out by saying the coffee seems pretty good and the atmosphere and decor are very nice. I would totally hang here with some friends or just go by myself to study or read. However, I came here with some friends recently after going to the Botanic Garden's and our experience was mixed, to put it mildly. There was a blonde guy with lots of tattoos working that was astoundingly rude to all of us. I really tried to be extra nice and make conversation, but he wasn't having it at all. I understand having a bad day and I know we all have crazy lives, but I would rather someone say to me "sorry, I'm just having a really rough day" than be straight up rude and dismissive. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and gave him a good tip anyways. If you're in such a bad mood, maybe let people know that so they don't take it personally. It was hard to enjoy the experience with the person behind the counter acting like a giant storm cloud. One of my friends said, "wow, I think he REALLY hates me." If you don't explain your bad mood it does come across like you don't like your customers. Great little place and yummy coffee, just work on the attitude a little. read more

Nitro tasted stale and sour. When my friend asked for a different drink the staff was not happy about it.

My previous review would have been 5 stars in every category. Their coffee is amazing, and the staff has always been courteous and kind. That was until today. The person working today had a chip on their shoulder even before I ordered. I started to order and then asked my daughter which syrup she wanted and the person ignored me and interrupted and told me to let my daughter order. I said my other daughter has previously forgotten to order coffee forgetting to get almond milk so I was just reminding her. Remember where I said I was ordering? Oh, and I had the money? I ordered our coffee and after it was given to us the person rudely told me I did not respect their gender. They then pointed to their clothes as if that was supposed to be obvious. Lots of people have piercings and wear jeans and a Tshirt. If it means so much to someone, they should have a pin or name tag to let people know their preferences. I have no intention of harming anyone, but I left the coffee shop feeling harmed myself. I don't think I ever even used pronouns at all, but I could easily be wrong. I was extremely nice and over apologized but this person just outright assumes you are doing it out of spite and is rude the entire time. For all the positive experiences I have had here in the past, I won't be coming back. Your staff have every right to be who they are (as do all of us) but regardless of differences, everyone deserves respect - especially if you are working with the public. read more
