13 people came in for lunch. The waitress rolled her eyes and we were sent upstairs. The restaurant was not crowded. We were ignored upstairs and the hostess was sent up to take our drink orders, however she let us know that she was not of age and couldn't serve us. She also told us that our waitress was busy. We waited like fools. 1.5 hours of our time. The server took our drink orders. She said we had to wait until the waitress was free since she could not deliver them to us. Eventually we were served after she gave us an excuse about the wait. We also had 2 different menus with different prices. We did not order food, we asked for our drink bill, but it never came. While this was all going on, another party of 4 left saying that they didn't eat either and that they seemed like we were bothering them by showing up. We had to go downstairs to the bar to pay the bill. We will NEVER RETURN. It is obvious that they don't want to work. Even though we had a large group of 8, we were seated promptly & service continued to be quick & friendly. I ordered a bloody mary which was flavorful & a little spicy (just how I like it), and others in the group opted for a "build your own beer flight" (which was a great deal!). For apps, we got the cheese curds & chicken wings. While the curds were just ok, the wings were delicious! They were crispy but still moist & had a good amount of sauce. Almost every sandwich and burger on the menu was $20 which is pricey but normal for Ellicottville. We asked for a couple separate checks as some we're paying with cash and some with cards but they said they couldn't which was definitely a huge pain when bill paying time came. Fried Cheese curds 10/10 Lightly battered. Very good. Sriracha not very spicy which is good for me. 3 little pigs pizza 4/10 I wouldn't order their pizza again. First it did not look like the photo. Way less arugula than pictured. The dough was thin but not like a thin crust, more like a dense and tough flatbread. Not a huge amount of flavor besides dough and balsamic (which is weird because the description didn't even mention balsamic on it...). Except the bites with sausage, you can taste the sausage pretty well. Didn't realize there was bacon or prosciutto on it at all. And couldn't taste any of the cheese. Definitely needs about 3 times the toppings to go with that bland dense bread taste. Buffalo Chicken pizza 4/10 Same dough as above. Not enough blue cheese or toppings in general. Carrots on top weren't my favorite either. Not what you expect for "Buffalo chicken pizza". Wouldn't order again. Bacon Blue Balls Burger 8/10 Burger was decent. Asked for med rare but was more like medium, did not have any pink. You could taste the blue cheese crumbles and the caramelized onions pretty well. Flights of 4 or 6 are available and all different types no matter the season! - Lagers, sours, stouts, etc. The inside of this place is so cool and they have a very large patio that wraps around from the front to the back of the building with an additional outside bar in the back. The food was really good too! Portion sizes are Huge! I got the home made buttermilk chicken tenders and it was AMAZING. There was enough food on my plate for 3 dinners! Love this place! I came here back in November with my women's motorcycle group for a chapter meeting. We rotate the location of our meetings because our members are spread out all over WNY. Steelbound accommodated us beautifully. I made a reservation a few days in advance because I didn't want to chance it. I'm glad too because we would have had to sit at separate tables if I hadn't done that. Once our entire party was present we started with drinks and appetizers. They have flights of not only beers and wines but also cocktails. It was amazing. They even let one of the ladies substitute one of the drinks in her flight of cocktails for another because she doesn't care for Moscow mules. After ordering appetizers to share around the table we all chose individual entrees. No one was dissatisfied as the portions were perfect and the prices were reasonable. The food was delicious. Our drinks were always full and the service was pleasant. They even let us pay separately. What great service. We will definitely be back and I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

I started with the Blueballs Remedy, I don't normally do these gimmicky cocktails, but it was pretty decent. Very small, so I switched to a beer after. My wife got one of the other cocktails, she felt that it was the wrong drink, we both couldn't tell, tasted more like blueberries than mine did. Don't know what the drink was, but it was pretty good for being the wrong drink. Server didn't really know how to handle the situation, but we ended up just getting her a glass of wine. The group started with the stuffed pepper pizza - that was really good. Didn't kill you with the peppers, perfect amount of ricotta cheese on it. For dinner, I got the bacon blue balls burger. Didn't seem like the best quality burger that I was hoping for, but the bbq sauce and crumbly bleu melded well together. I upgraded from chips to fries - fries were fantastic (I'm really picky on French Fries) Wouldn't recommend getting a table if you want to watch a game, not a ton of tvs. I'm sure it's fine if you are sitting at the bar. We also ordered the Souvlaki Chicken salad. The salad part was great, the chicken was dry. The best part of Steelbound is the beer. We got a flight of 6 and did not find a bad beer. There is nothing better than fresh beer and Steelbound gets this right. When we first arrived, around 6pm on a Sunday night, we waited about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. The person to come out and see us waiting to be seated was from the kitchen. Finally, a server sat us. We sat at a low top, to the left of the bar, by a raised platform. There were crumbs on the raised platform, and pieces of french fries below our table. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm not sure why there were so much items on the floor, that should have been swept up. I have been showing people photos of those amazing Bloody Mary's they post online. The people in my party were excited to try them, with all the food on top. The Bloody Mary of the day contained their Moonshine alcohol, something they were not fans of and decided not to get. They did try the Blueballs Vodka, which they said they liked. The blueberry drink concoction was a little to sweet for me. We all ordered the Steakhouse Sandwich. The roll could have been toasted more. You couldn't taste the IPA sauteed onions as anything but sauteed onions. The sandwich was mediocre and I've had numerous other shaved beef sandwiches, which were amazing and closer to home. The service was not that great. My mom ordered coffee, which tasted like mud. The server came by with the check and said she took the coffee off because she doesn't know how to make coffee and she thinks she makes it wrong. Why doesn't she get the help she needs? The waitress was friendly, but seemed flustered. We also waited a good deal of time to receive the bill and be checked up on. I don't think I would go back, which is a shame. I like the ambiance, but you would think this place would step up its game. It has potential, with the lovely space, and the great spirits. They have had enough time to work out the kinks. Went for a nice fall scenery drive and stopped by for lunch. Started with a flight of beers to share and the on to a glass of my favorite- cheaper one! Also liked the Gentleman's porter. The bacon jam burger was excellent! Juicy and cooked just right. I've had monte Cristo sandwiches before but their take is awesome! Made with blueberry bread and blueberry dipping sauce, gotta try it! We also tried the beer battered cheese curds which I could eat all day! It's a cool place with plenty of seating area ( 2 floors) inside and outside . They have a lot of home brewed beers on tap. You can get a 4 or 6 sample board so you can fine tune in on your favorites. They also have hard liquor cocktail sampler so you can try their homemade liquors . They looked great! I will return to try the liquors! The food was awesome, we started with the deep fried beer battered cheese curd , sooo delicious! Then we (shared halves ) of a steel bound Monty Christopher made on a blue berry bread and a blue berry dip, and a bacon jam burger! They were both awesome, unique and tasty !!! The server looked miserable although she eventually warmed up to us throughout our lunch. The food was pleasantly satisfying. We ordered the pretzels (3 pretzels and a side of cheese sauce for $10), Caesar salads (delicious), wings were classic and tasty with a good amount of meat on the bone, and a couple more apps. Welcome new restaurant on the E'ville scene! Very happy to finally get out to try this place - open since May and still working out the kinks now moving into the high season. But no need to work out any kinks in the beer/food portion of the establishment. Stopped in during the Christmas break around 7:15pm. Had to wait for a table -- but staff were super honest that they didn't want to seat us only to have us wait for food. Kitchen a little overwhelmed by group of 28 in upstairs room. I would much rather be told up front of possible kitchen issues than be seated and wait and wait and wait. We ordered a couple awesome in-house brews while waiting - along with some cheese curds - (having recently been to Green Bay for the Bills game). Tasty little morsels, but maybe a tad heavy on the breading given how small the curds were. Speaking of curds - all attempts are clearly made to use local ingredients- Yancys fancy curds! I kept my dinner selection small (beets and greens) saving room to share the pizza my son ordered. VERY Happy with my salad, the pizza (great crust) and loved the story from the owner about the hubbys sausage selection. Very happy with our service - again glad they were honest with us up front. Very impressed with this place. While this might be WNY heresy, I would say they are better than the classic Ellicottville Brewing Company. A strong and varied beer list. The standouts were: Fat Porter (6.7%ABV 43 IBU): Dry with chocolate malt notes. Pretty classic. Portly Gentleman 6.7% ABV 45 IBU) was a unique oatmeal stout with a strong roast with hints of smoke. Better Red (5.8% ABV 17 IBU) I sometimes don't like red ales thinking they are too sweet. This one was crisp. More like a good clean hard cider that doesn't have residual sugar. The Alpha Ralpha and Beta Juice IPAs. Both had good citrus flavors without punching you in the face with hops. Some basic (burger/pizza) food options, but they were all tasty and paired well with their beers. The tasting room is huge with two floors and a bar set up on each. Service was excellent and plenty of parking. Overall I would say this is one of the best craft breweries in WNY. Probably only outdone by 42 North. read more

What a wonderful addition to Ellicottville! I had the pleasure of visiting this new brewery over the weekend and I was NOT disappointed. From the outside, I expected the place to be wider on the inside, but instead, it's a bit narrow where the bar/dining tables are, but still roomy enough for comfort. They have just over 20 beers for you to choose from ranging from pale ales, porters, IPAs and more. Since it was our first time visiting, my husband and I both did a flight with six beers each. It was only $10 per flight, so it was certainly a deal. We each got different beers as well so we could really explore a good amount. A few of the beers were a little too hoppy for my palate, but I did find some that were my favorite. I loved the Fat Porter and the Better Red (Red/Amber Ale). They have this huge TV that's way bigger than I could ever guesstimate, but I can totally see it as being a great spot to watch Sunday football with friends. A group nearby ordered a variety of pizzas and they looked delicious. We were strictly bar hopping this weekend, so we passed on the food, but next time, I'm definitely doing some food tasting as well. read more

We had a huge group and the waitress was very accommodating. Drinks kept rolling and the food soon to follow. Food came out looking on point everyone was ecstatic to eat especially after reading the menu. My choice was the jumbolya, it had a nice kick to it but didn't really care for the soupiness of it. My wife had the chicken Alfredo and didn't really care for it. The calamari wasn't so great either. Overall the presentation was great, and so was the service especially with the group we had but the food just didn't do it for me. Approximately 15-20 minutes later she alerted us that a table was ready. With our party inside she then asks if a high top would be okay. As you noted earlier, we have a minor with us so no, that won't fly. She then told us there were no other tables. Okay, we're done here. It's not that she was a stickler about rules, it's that she was inconsiderate and rude. Having a teenager scold prospective patrons, then having them wait for a table that doesn't appear is unprofessional. It was not a great experience. The drinks were good. But half of what our party of six tried to order was not even available. They had no steak, no fish fry, no pasta. Our beef on weck was not even cooked and came out cold and the scallops were over cooked. We were waiting a long time for nothing basically. They took half off of our bill but in my opinion they should have taken off more. I would not go back there to eat. It might be a good place to drink but that's about it.
