Heatwave Fri, 7/19/19. I needed Schrader valve replacement, ac recharge. I had 3 cans of r134…read more Cost: $10 valve $10 put in r134. Valve replaced, system tested, 3 cans opened, would not go in. Mechanic said Big Lots cans were old design. Price quoted for $15/lb for their refrigerant, I needed 2 lbs. and done. Later that day ac blew warm. I went back, told it would be awhile, sat in hot, dirty front area and told half hour later HVAC had gone until Mon am. Went Mon, come back noon. Went back, told from smiling front attendant, "hon, I am swamped but I'll get you in, come back at 4." I hung around Pilot to save gas and returned, sat again("he's almost done") and at 4:45 was told HVAC guy had left after asking how long it would be. I asked for money back, attendant started cussing and I cussed. He threw $20 on counter, led me to door and locked it.

I took my vehicle in for an oil change yesterday. I left and got about 5 miles down a 4 lane…read morehighway when a metal plate dropped down and crumpled up underneath the car. I zip tied it to get it back to Edd's to correct. I got there and they told me it only had one bolt when I brought it in. It hadn't fallen down before then and it happened right after I left. Before leaving, they said they bolted it back. I got up under there this morning and THE SAME zip tie that I put under there was still there and a single new zip tie had been added. The plate was also not clipped back with the 4 original clips under there. I went back and he told me that my original zip tie was lying in the floor of his garage. False because the original zip tie was still secured under my vehicle. I have on video of Edd yelling at me in front of several customers. He said that I put words in his mouth and that "he" didn't say he bolted it and that "he" zip tied it under there and that "he" told me that. False. One of his employees told me they bolted it. Secondly, "he" didn't zip tie it because he was working the desk the entire time I was there. Third, I was told that it was bolted before I left a second time. Today he said that since I brought it in with one bolt, they put the original bolt back under there. False... because the original bolt was lost on the highway. He then asked me why I didn't clip it back while I was under there. I told him that was because I wanted him to see how they left it. He asked what I wanted from him. I wanted an honest, respectable mechanic. As an upstanding business, they could have told me that and/or rectified the issue. He also told me today that zip ties were the only way to secure the plate back under the vehicle. I'm not sure about anyone else but I don't want to take my vehicle to a garage that relies on zip ties as auto parts.
