I have been going to Steel's Fudge for 40 years! I recently went to pickup several pounds of fudge and noticed the pistachio and raspberry is different colored than normal; I found out they changed the recipe. I have to tell you that I was so disappointed! It is now a macaroon type of taste. Bring back the original please!!! read more

Yes. This place was soooooo good! I like that they have certain chocolates you can purchase loosely and not solely by the pound. I'm a single woman! I do not need to buy a pound of chocolate lol so the lose chocolate option worked out for me. I had some dark chocolate coconut clusters as well as some peanut clusters. This is a cute little sweet shop. They have a variety of sweets -- candy, fudge, ice cream. I went close to closing time (although looking at their site, Google, and Yelp I'm not clear when closing time is) so the fudge was no longer out, but I picked up a container of Butter Toffee Pecans, and those things are amazing. The flavor is divine, and I can really eat them slowly because they are sweet but surprisingly satisfying to only have a few at a time. Even though the container seemed pricey at $8.50, it's about the going rate of pecans for the container size, but they were amazing treats. I will definitely be back for more nuts or to try the fudge next time, as long as I am in before the evening. read more

Yummy fudge! I'm in love, but it's so pricey so I got 3 just to give it a try. I got the salted pretzel fudge which is so delicious and by far the best one. I also got cookies and cream and chocolate walnut. All are super fudge and good. Customer service was great and the staff explained the fudge to me. I stopped by this place because I was craving sweets and decided to try their homemade ice cream. I had the moose tracks which is vanilla ice cream with chocolate, peanut butter, and mini peanut butter cups mixed in and the mint chocolate chip. Both were fairly good. My friend had pecan butterscotch which she enjoyed. She also got chocolate covered bacon which she liked. The main attraction of this place seems to be the fudge which we did not try but they had a nice variety of flavors. The staff were very friendly. I stopped by here for my first try of fudge in Atlantic City since apparently it's one of those unique things to do when you're there. It's a small room where one side is the walkway and the other is display cases of different flavor fudge. They don't give out any samples. The cheapest/smallest amount of fudge you can get is 1/4 lbs which doesn't look like that much but it is more than a few bites. I don't recall how much it cost me. A few people could share it for sure if each person is just looking to taste. I tried the vanilla flavor which was too sweet for my palette. I think that all fudge in general is too sweet for me. It seemed that Steel's is famous for their fudge given it's their specialty so I would recommend coming here to get your fudge fix at in Atlantic City. read more

Came here last weekend and got a couple of different flavors to try and they were all delicious. The fudge was very creamy and soft, and even a week later, it's good (not as good as fresh, but it's not hard either). I don't know what it is about these pretzels, I used to make dipped pretzels too but in no way do they compare, the chocolate is on a level that Hershey himself wouldn't even be able to reach. The thickness of the choc late is also perfection... leaving you with just the right amount of pretzel and chocolate in one bite... There are also pretzels covered in candy, chips, M&Ms, etc. The store has many AC postcards, old fashioned candy or rather classics - Swedish fish, gumballs, licorice, etc. There is also a WIDE selection of sugar free chocolates.. and girls be wary just because it is sugar free doesn't mean it is fat free although it will help you go the bathroom at least =) Slightly pricey so watch the weight of the items you choose... read more

You can't come to Atlantic City and not have a little bit of Steel's fudge or taffy. This particular outlet is located very close to where I'm staying, so I trudged over for my fudge. I just get a tiny little creamy slab - any more and I'd either have to 1) share with someone or 2) eat it all in one go. They send out emails to order your holiday gifts, I did and someone stole my order. I reported the theft to the Postal Inspector, I called Steele's and was told there was nothing to be done. I told the person the package was insured (not the first time I have ordered from Steele's) it was sent priority mail. The person then called me back and said he filed the insurance claim and when they receive the check they will reship the order. I guess repeat business is not important to the owner..........The total order cost was $35, and they can't reship till they receive the money from the post office. Times must be really tough to not be able to afford to reship until they receive the refund.......So sad cause the Mother in law loves their fudge, but I won't be ordering anymore. read more

I wish I could give this establishment five stars the quality of the candy and ice cream certainly is five stars however it's 1:50 on a beautiful blue sky afternoon this April Monday at the Atlantic City Boardwalk and I walked into Steel's fudge and proceeded to purchase over $40 worth of candy and ice cream and was treated like a second-class citizen by the woman working the counter(not to mention the way she cut up the fudge!? I mean wgat if I was giving it as a gift?? It was as if she was trying to make it look as unappealing as possible. All the while that she is filling our order, she had the most sour look on her face it's almost a crime that she work in such a nice candy store with such a rude demeanor. I left the store and tried to forget the nasty attitude we received and just enjoy my ice cream but when I bit into my ice cream cone the cone fell apart and there was nothing inside!!!!! NOTHING! I would have expected there would be ice cream inside of the cone being that I purchased the largest size of all the waffle cones however it was empty and not even damp from any ice cream ever touching it. This is just flat out wrong and when I went back in to tell the very rude lady she was so inappropriate! She actually talked over me and said "okay, yeah, bye" bye" she lied and said it had 2 scoops and this is only true if the scoops are a heaping tablespoon! When I spend that much money at an establishment not only on ice cream but fancy chocolate covered pretzels, fudge, licorice and taffy I expect to be treated well by the employee serving me and more then anything I expect that my cone have ice cream inside and NOT just resting on top! I love fudge, but i really can't say ive had a multitude of different levels of quality ranging from buys at any jersey shore and six flaggs. I have to base my experience around price then and whether the fudge was stale. Price was above average but not ridiculous. Taffy was highly priced and according to them they invented it, but who cares the stuff still tastes the same like in shop rite brands. Its alright, but fudge is fudge. read more

Whenever we visit AC we need to buy a box to share with family & friends. You should definitely give it a try. Good to know a pound box comes with 6 strips of fudge. You can get 6 different flavors or any assortment you like. When you order on-line, each strip is wrapped in their thick wax coated packaging paper.
