Pan fries chorizo with basil and mint.

I dreamed about the steak I was going to eat at Steersons. Pictured myself in a bib armed with a steak knife like a machete slicing off morsels of succulent flesh that melted in my mouth like a bloody red protein butter. The experience didn't quite live up to what I'd imagined, however. Rather than transporting me to a meat sweat nirvana with the char-grilled main course, the steak didn't wow the pants off me. In fact, after reading the intricate descriptions of the various types and cuts of meat on the menu, I was distinctly underwhelmed. Double in fact, the part of the meal I enjoyed the most was the entree of pan-fried chorizo with mint and basil and a couple of cheeky scallops served in-shell with celeriac and stinging nettle butter. The ambience and light and wood of the place is great, it feels like a real dining experience. The whisky trolley near the entrance also makes you feel like a big swinging dick. Well, it did for me, anyway, but I'm easily impressed by things like whisky trolleys. I went for pasture-fed meat, which is supposed to be the top of the pops flavour- and juice- and health-wise, and is more expensive than grain-fed. Had a rib-eye, which has a bit more fat (and thus flavour) than a fillet, say. Ordered it rare, but the waitress talked us into medium-rare as the chefs reckon it better seals in the juices of this particular cut. But it was merely pedestrian. Tasted like something I'd get from a gastropub. Why, I'm not sure. I've had better steaks. Hell, I've cooked better steaks. I tried my brother's grain-fed rib-eye and it too was pretty meh. My sister out-ordered us comprehensively with her eye-fillet, which was the best steak on the table and had that delicious, buttery melt-in-the-mouth juiciness the rest of our moo was lacking. Had a slight hiccup with the vouchers we'd come armed with at pay-time, but it was more the wording on the voucher that confused both us and the manager and we got it sorted out without too much trouble. It was a hot day and we eschewed the red for the only verdelho on the menu, a WA number that won hearts as well as minds.

A steak is just a steak, right? Wrong. For a sophisticated twist on a classic meal, head down to Steersons where you can enjoy the perfect, most tender steak in a stylish venue, boasting arched ceilings and chandeliers, and situated right on the water. You can tell how much thought they put into their specialty from the menu which explains the different types of steaks and how they are best cooked. I chose the Riverina fillet steak with bacon and garlic butter, well done ($37.50 for 220grams). Served with my choice of chips, baked potato or mash, it was probably the best steak I've had in a while but considering it's quite expensive, I was a bit annoyed it didn't come with salad and the mushroom sauce was extra. For those wishing to satisfy a whooping appetite for an equally whopping price, try the famous Wagyu rib-eye steak ($69.50) which has been scoffed down by a few boys I know, though I haven't attempted it yet. Be prepared to spend money but for a succulent steak lunch or dinner in a stunning setting, nothing beats Steersons.

For a Steakhouse not in Texas, this is pretty decent. They don't give you proper steak knives but they don't give you proper steak sizes either so you're all set. The food here is good and the view is pretty too. Great place to entertain out of towners or special guests. The menu has decent variety. For appetizers, 4 of us shared chorizo, calamari, and prawns. All were delicious but the calamari had exceptional flavor!! I tried the petite filet with bernaise sauce. A steak shouldn't require sauce but this one, it was better with sauce. We shared the pumpkin and the brussel sprouts, both were soooo good!! The baked potato was also very good. All in all it was a lovely meal and great company! I'd dine here again.

The food was excellent, the service was excellent! Had two steaks both delicious, sides were excellent and portions were perfect and as advertised. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because one of the steaks came slightly more rare than my wife likes, but it was delusions!

A solid steak which is well complimented by great service and a superb wine list. Prawn option is a must plus definitely try the duck pate

This was 1 of the best meals we've had here in Sydney with a great waterfront view Staff is nice and a great dining experience. My wife and I shared the Lamb Hook and a side of fries. The fries had some rosemary salt on them and were very good. The Lamb Hook was amazing. There were big chunks of lamb that was lightly seasoned and cooked to a medium temperature. The meat was tender and very good. The salad had a nice tasting vinaigrette and the meal also came with a gravy that complimented the lamb very well. The food was amazing. Everything the servers brought out to the surrounding tables all looked good as well. I definitely recommend coming here to eat. The prices are reasonably affordable too.

We were seated downstairs in their covered outdoor seating area. They also have indoor seating upstairs. Service wasn't too bad overall but they really could have checked on us more often after they had delivered our food. The food was kind of mixed. A couple in the group had ordered steaks and they were bland and tough. I ordered the Kangaroo for the table and we got that medium rare. Super tender and while it could have used more seasoning, the sauce we got with it paired perfectly. For myself I got the burger and beef ribs combo. For me this is where things go down hill. The beef ribs were TOUGH, hard to bite through and get off of the bone. As for the burger it was pretty dry but luckily I had the sauce from the kangaroo to fix that. I can say that the fries were perfectly cooked though. They have a number of cocktails to choose from but the beer menu was pretty limited.

Had a wonderful birthday meal here…read more First things first, they do book up so definitely make a reservation. Inside has a more formal ambiance we appreciated, but outside - assuming no cruise ship in the way - is probably the way to go for views, as we requested an inside top floor table with a view and didn't get much of one; turns out not many tables inside with a view. Service was mostly good but oddly slow in a few spots, the wine list was on iPad, and our pomme puree (mashed potatoes) came quite late. Steak was very good. MB7+ tomahawk is a terrific presentation, perfectly cooked to your specification, and described in detail. If you want the very highest quality (MB9) unfortunately thay was not on the menu when we visited, but it was surprisingly difficult find higher than MB7 on the regular menu of any of their competitors so I digress... (keyword: regular) Rest of the food was excellent. Little gem salad and chips are included with your tomahawk, the pomme puree was deliciously creamy if you like creamy mashed potatoes, broccolini hit the spot. And the scallops, while modest in appearance, won high praise. As someone who normally has a hard time going out for steak, given I can almost always make a better one at home, I do have to say that for a special occasion, 6HEAD was on the mark.

I'd say save your money and try somewhere else, unfortunately. Our waiter disappeared after our dishes were delivered and the restaurant was near empty. We literally never saw her again. The one good thing is the view of the opera house, but honestly there are so many restaurants that have nice views, so I'd pick a different one.
