Words cannot describe how it feels to be unlocked. How it feels to finally understand why something…read moreis the way it is. I'm referring to my experience with Dr. Halweg, who, after a series (roughly 45-minutes) of behavioral questions, diagnosed me with ADHD. What I did not also realize is that Dr. Halweg is also focused on deeper problems within me that I was not aware of and brilliantly brought them to light. Today, I feel that my productivity has more than 10x. To some, this might find ridiculous, but it is true. If you were to ask anyone that knows me, they would almost always share with you that I work hard. However, what many people probably are not aware of is that even though I worked hard, I have always been frustrated with my output. Getting myself to focus in the past -- especially on tasks that I did not want to do -- was incredibly difficult. When I first heard the diagnosis, it was hard for me to believe. Through hard work and luck, I have been fortunate to do many things, including giving the commencement address for my college. It blew my mind that even though I achieved so much, I could have had an attention deficit disorder. I have always had a hunch, but I never thought that I genuinely did because of what I accomplished. If you are someone who thinks you may have ADHD, I highly recommend you give Dr. Halweg's office a call. No matter your age. Trust me; it is life-changing. Thank you to Dr. Halweg and his fantastic team, which includes his Clinical Director Aja, as well for changing my life.

Couldn't ask for a higher quality of care. Whoever runs his office is extremely sweet, punctual, and accommodating. If you are looking for specific treatment he knows what to do. If you are looking for someone to talk to, he's your man. He's a real one.

I've been in the medical field as a professional and also as a patient for over 20 years…read more As a retired Military Veteran, I would have to say that their office and personnel has been the best experience I've had. They are very organized, flexible, customer service oriented, compassionate, and highly knowledgeable with the in and outs of care both online and in-person. Highly highly recommend them, especially for the military/VA patients that use community care. Their access to care is probably the best on island. The communication from booking appointments to handling insurance and referrals has been nothing but AMAZING.

I just got out of the hospital and everything was in order. The caseworker had set me up with Aja…read more When I got out, I had an appointment and I saw her. In the first Zoom meeting, I kept telling her about what's going on with my family and how important it is and she said she can't help me regarding my child, but she can help me with just me. I kept telling her that something was going on with my child that made me feel a certain way so that I needed to talk about that. She kept saying that she cannot help my child and I understood that. Anyways, I told her that if she specializes in human trafficking and she's a Christian because that's the two things that I was shocked to see someone had a specialty in and that is what I needed help in. I believed this was set up and a blessing from above, from God himself because how easy is it to find Christian-based therapy with specific things you're going through? She just seemed very dismissive and she seemed like she didn't wanna see me and I just told her that I feel like this is a very important matter to me that I need to speak about it and then we eventually came to a mutual understanding about what I needed in therapy. In the second session, she said that I cannot see her anymore because I need to take medicine and I already have a therapist. I told her I don't have a therapist. Their office and the hospital just said that I have one, but that I don't. I'm not seeing one right now. I was seeing one from before but I am not seeing anyone but her. She said if I don't do the medicine (which the hospital didn't require) then they can't see me. I said fine I don't think we can do this then. So we mutually agreed to end services with one another. Then I decided to go to Linda. So I made an appointment with her. The day I got a phone call, I didn't respond because I was busy. They left me an email saying my appointment was canceled the day of and they sent me an email discharging me. I called the office and the girl said the manager said I am not a good fit so they will not be seeing me anymore. I asked to speak to the supervisor to get this right. She was listening to everything that I said I said I was gonna write a Yelp review. I said that I did the survey just so that they would have feedback to know what went on with me. To know that I wasn't satisfied, wasn't helped, didn't feel hurt, just got out of the hospital, I don't have a therapist now and now I have to look for one, and they just didn't help the way that I needed them to. They kicked me out two times. So I confirmed with the manager about her saying I am not a good fit and they won't be seeing me anymore. So I got an email that they discharged me and I just told them I don't trust them or feel comfortable doing any work with them or any services with them anymore. And it's there. I would not recommend anyone who just got out of the hospital who's kind of vulnerable and is trusting people to help them to just go here and expect them to actually help, as they treated me like easy throw away patient, with no compassion.

Since I already picked it up it didnt make sense to reorder so i had to cut them in half but I thought that was a big mistake to make. Like what we talked about didnt get heard. In addition, we switched from hmsa online to another video platform but I was never informed it would go from being free with insurance to costing me i think $20 each time especially since our calls are only 5-15min long. I was just disappointed overall and several of the other complaints I resonated as well. I know psychiatrists are different than psychologists but the empathy, care and attentiveness seemed lower than what I would expect.

From the very first appointment, he got my mindset back on track, validated my feelings, gave me coping skills and never tried to push medication on me; he's been nothing but respectful, supportive, caring, and provides the faith based support I need. While I wanted a Christian based therapy, it is never pushy or inappropriate. I am so grateful I was accepted as a patient and he has equipped me with better coping skills in my day to day caregiving journey. Mahalo nui Dr. Pien.
