Its important to tune a piano after a move and on other occasions such as: 1- When a piano is not played, the strings will gradually stretch with the passage of time and the piano will fall out of tune. Pianos need regular tuning at least once a year to keep them up to pitch and playing the correct notes. 2- When fluctuations in temperature and humidity occur which cause the wooden parts of the piano to expand and contract, affecting string tension. 3- When a piano is not tuned regularly. Pianos get set in their ways as they age. A piano that hasn't been tuned in a long time will go out of tune again very quickly. Pianos are temperamental and should be tuned at least once per year. I like to think of a piano like a car in that, cars require regular tune ups, oil changes etc. Brian showed up on time, was efficient and gave some great tips on piano care. While working on the piano, he noticed that I had some stuck keys and rusted strings. He communicated with me potential ideas, and we both worked through solutions. We're now a few weeks away from moving out of state; we've asked them to return our piano but now have no way to sell it elsewhere in time. She's great about explaining concepts I don't understand and why I need to learn certain subjects to improve my playing. She is always very upbeat about my playing and gives helpful constructive criticism to improve any performance. She even helps me outside of lessons by providing me with recordings of music on request if I have trouble with a piece, or tips if I am struggling. However, I have been communicating with this business via text for about a month now to get a doublebass ready for Thing One. In the communications, we have discussed the required height, type of bow, and type of use this instrument would get to determine which base would be the right fit. When we arrived to pick up the bass, we were greeted warmly and given a quick lesson on the proper care of the instrument. This process took no longer than 30 minutes from arrival to signing the paperwork. I am looking forward to hearing the tones of this beautiful instrument in my home.

I'd play it and if something slipped right away, he'd fix it. Now he tunes my restored 1936 Baldwin Model F (7' grand), and he always does a great job. He's old-school, many decades of experience, and he know lots of pianos and is good at troubleshooting. Always interesting to talk to as well. He's less than competitors so you get high quality at a discount. I've had several other tuners that used fancy gadgets and charged more, but the result from them was no better for me - and I'm really picky about tuning.
