We hired Steller Construction and Remodeling LLC to build a deck/Catio in May 2024. Micha Owner) was straightforward to work with and reach throughout the process. We are retired and live on a set income. Even though we had some lower estimates from other companies, we felt so confident with Micha's ideas that, after looking at other reviews/images of this company, we decided to go with Steller Construction. Micha's team was absolutely amazing!!! Ray, our project's lead employee/carpenter, was very knowledgeable, considerate, and had an unbelievable work ethic! The rest of the team, Josh and Kevin, did an awesome job as well. They communicated well throughout the whole job, always checking in with us to make sure they were doing what we wanted. They were professional and very polite every day. At the end of each day, they completely cleaned up the area. We worked with one other construction company and a roofing company when we did some remodeling on our last home, and we did not have good experiences with either company. Raymond Bell and Chris Hernandez did an outstanding job with replacing my deck. Ray and Chris carried out every aspect of the work with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and care. Raymond went out of his way to keep me informed about progress, share pictures periodically and explain next steps along the way. We needed to have a few large retaining walls replaced, along with building an outdoor deck from scratch. When I first met Micah, he took time to help me come up with some creative solutions and was honest with what he thought we could do given our tight budget. After preparing a plan, his prices were very reasonable, especially when compared to other estimates we received. The team that came to our house were young guys in their 20's, and didn't seem entirely professional with first impressions. This quickly faded as they got to work very early in the morning, and didn't stop until the end of day. The work they did looked fantastic. This is important to note because we didn't have an exact plan, and I was relying on their "expertise" to create varying shapes, heights, angles of retaining walls that stopped the steep slope of a hillside from washing down into some walking paths. Micah's guys knocked it out of the park - what they created looked better than I had imagined and the build quality great!!! The deck they made from scratch came out beautifully, again the attention to detail was first rate and we could not be happier with everything came out. One of the MUCH larger retaining walls began to fail this past winter due to the heavy rains. When I spoke with Micah he was very honest, and owned the fact that his guys missed some details and should have build parts of the retaining wall a bit differently. Micah came out with an excavator, spent a day fixing the problem, and made everything stronger than ever. Micah front ended this conversation by telling me he would not charge me anything and that he realized his guys mistake. As any business owner, I understand Micah can't control every aspect of every job, but when his guys made a mistake, he was there to fix the problem and go the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. We have since used Stellar Construction to repair parts of our deck. Again, the work looks fantastic. I wish the price of lumber had not gone through the roof in these past months, but again Micah worked with our budget and took extra measures to do what he could to keep the cost down which shows again how he cares and treats his clients. read more

I reached out to Micah in the Spring about putting in a privacy fence. After a few back and forths, Stellar Construction was able to get us on the schedule for the summer. We needed over 200 ft of fencing and 3 gates (one of them a double drive gate). Micah's bid was reasonable and fell in the middle of the ones we got from other companies. It took 3 gentlemen only 5 days to complete the whole thing. James was a great foreman and was happy to answer any questions we had. Some of the soil they had to deal with was a challenge and they handled it like professionals. Elijah, Cameron, and James were wonderful. We have had the fence about 6 months now and are so glad that we went with Stellar Construction. They use beautiful wood, have a great professional attitude, and stand by their work. Micah is the owner, and his work ethic is terrible. My house was supposed to have a door replaced, one wall resided and painted in MAY. In September I was still trying to coordinate with him to get out here and finish it. I finally had to give up and hire someone else. His company is sloppy with no attention to detail. There are multiple places that the paint is messed up or smudged (address numbers, doors, corners etc) and there is also paint EVERYWHERE. Didn't look to see at all what kind of mess they were making, it's all over my chairs, pots and plants. While replacing my door he gouged 3 spots in the floor and ripped off a connecting piece (which was thrown in my yard). I'm still waiting for him to come fix this. On top of all this, they don't clean up after themselves at all. When they finished the siding job there were nails, wood, siding, and all sorts of other debris in the yard. I run a dog sitting business out of my home so this is not ok! I can't have a dog be hurt by stepping or chewing on those things. When it was brought to Micah's attention his response was "Yeah I'm always after my guys to pick up after themselves". But nothing changed! The next time they came to replace the door and do painting there was crap everywhere! Sharp pieces of wood, nails, tape ect. Not good if you have animals or children in your yard. They also set up in the front yard and gouged a huge hole out of the grass. On top of ALL of this, one of the guys had his girlfriend come to our house and hung out in our yard! She was using our hose to help him rinse off his tools. She was there for over an hour, it was extremely inappropriate and made me very uncomfortable. In addition, after I wrote my original review on his business, he retaliated by putting a false negative review of my business up. I attempted to contact him to have it removed, and he made claims of my dogs biting his employee (completely false) and started hurling childish insults. Legal action has been taken against him. I would never recommend a company with such poor business ethics. Not to mention he did a crap job! read more

AMAZING!!! I was overwhelmed by contractors telling me I couldn't build my deck the way I wanted. I called Micah and had him meet my wife and I and instantly he felt like family. He explained to me exactly what why things needed to be a certain way. He gave me and bid and completed the job early and under his bid cost. Micah also incorporates a style to his construction that he is proud of, and it shows in the end result. read more

Micah and his crew were easy to work with, professional, and helpful. They installed a short length of fence and a gate along the front of our house. We had to make a change to the plan after the framing had already been put in place, but Micah was accommodating and helped us make the change at a reasonable price and the project was completed in a timely manner.
