They're a great place for UM law merchandise as well. But the best part is their buyback program. I took a class this semester where the professor required two brand new, expensive textbooks. We never had assigned reading or even opened the books. One of mine was still in the plastic. I was upset to see that the books were about 1/6th of what I paid online. When I went to book horizons, they gave me double the best value that I could get elsewhere in cash. They were very kind and understanding about the situation. I highly recommend book horizons for any student buying books, selling their books, or looking for UM merchandise.

It took over 3 weeks for the item to get a tracking number (shipping from their warehouse apparently takes longer than if they have stock in a store - per CS). It's now had a tracking number for over a week but still yet to be handed off to the carrier... hello... hello... CS is not very responsive, and apparently communication between the stores and warehouse is almost non-existent, leading to not being able to get answers or problems solved in a timely manner... I sure hope my item goes out... I guess I've figured out why they don't give the store phone number out, lol. UPDATE: Order confirmed July 11, ORIGINAL estimated delivery date July 18. Actually arrived August 20th... at least it arrived, but not likely to place online orders with them again...

Where else can I look at $1200 books with provided white gloves, but spend half an hour poring over the $40 offerings? There is a fundamental need for art in this world, and I'm glad they're doing their part. Salespeople largely left me alone, which is fine. They must have sensed I wasn't buying anything, but they didn't know that I couldn't put the book I wanted in my suitcase coming back home. So no nefarious intent detected on their part. Im a big collector of Bronze Age (1970 - 1986) comics and action figures. Sadly those old school shops are quickly vanishing and the Modern Age collectible shops are plentiful. This Cognizant Card shop was easy to navigate with a small room at the front displaying Pops figures and some large Anime figures. The rear room was full of Pokemon cards from 1996 - present including a grab bag case of common Pokemon cards for a few dollars each. There were several packages of various sports cards too. To my enjoyment they even had a couple bins of comic books. The employee was friendly and knowledgeable of his merchandise and advised he will buy select Pokemon cards from customers. This shop provides a 5% discount on all inventory for First Responders, which is a nice touch.

They're usually discounted or on clearance, and sometimes there will be one-day deals that stack with this. But for the most part, students primarily come here to purchase textbooks, scantrons, and lab coats/goggles. Textbooks - New and used textbooks can range from $30 to $200. The bookstore will sometimes buy your "used" textbooks if you no longer need them. Scantrons - 1 scantron is 50¢, and a 6-sheet pack is $2.15. Lab coats/goggles - Any size lab coat is $30, and lab goggles are $15. You can only receive a full refund from textbooks and lab coats/goggles two weeks before and after the first day of classes, and if they're unopened with the original receipt.

There is also an area for children's books and toys. There is always a 50% off rack at the front with a random assortment of books. As for the cafe, the coffee is good! They use Juan Valdez, and have almond milk available. They also have a good selection of baked goods. I tried the matcha last time I was there and I've had better, but they do have other teas if coffee isn't your thing.
