Stopped here on a Monday for lunch on the way tot he cabin and while we waited for our cookie dough from next door. We were seated right away and got our waters and I ordered a beer. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is your typical bar style family restaurant with booths and tables. Clean. We ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and the reuben for the adults. The kids got tenders, buttered noodles and kids alfredo with the shrimp addon ($3 for two shirmps). The food came out hot. The reuben was decent but the pesto chicken not so much. The kids enjoyed their food. I found all of it a little too salty. Again it was all fine and would have potentially been better if the salt was less. The fries were not that great. The chips were ok. Overall, we have had better experience at Stella's in the past so I can chalk it up to just this one time and would probably be back to give it another shot. read more

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday and sat at a comfy booth. At first the service was great. Our order was taken right away, drinks came out rather quickly, and it didn't take that long for our meals to be served either. I took one star off because our waitress disappeared after she brought the drinks; food was dropped off by kitchen staff, drink refills and to-go boxes came via a different server who took pity on us (waitress only came back after our food was boxed up to give us our bill). Another ding was the $11 lemon drop martini that was the teeniest size I've ever been served so it just wasn't worth the price. As far as the food, my husband ordered The Wild Pizza and he loved it. I tried a bite of it and it was extremely tasty. I went with the Cobb Salad and the toppings were all fresh and it was the perfect meal for a hot summer day. read more

We went to Stellas last week and it was a nice little restaurant, and the servers were great. The food on the other hand was mediocre at best. I had ordered a prime dip and French onion soup The prime dip was one of the poorest ones I've had in a long time. Au jus was cold, beef was overcooked and very small serving. Steeellla! Like from the Rocky movie right? Well not really but my friend kept yelling it that way. The establishment is nice. Indoor and outdoor seating. We had a group of 5... well 4 1/2. The waitress was prompt and full of smiles. My review is late in posting but the night we were there everything was great. The pasta was filling. The chicken parmesan hit the spot. It was a huge helping. My husband got their Reuben and his eyes almost popped out of his head. The amount of meat on that sandwich was fantastic. Beware. Ordered a "salty chihuahua". It was filled with Cuervo gold. Not patron and gold tequila is way different than blanco. Also- no Cointreau even on the liquor shelf. Watched him pour. Stopped for late lunch and sat on the patio. Got the rum punch and the summertime lemonade with bruschetta to start. The rum punch was decent, but both my wife and I preferred the summertime lemonade. The bruschetta was great...toppings were fresh and flavorful and the bread was crispy and complemented the toppings well. For the mains we got the beer cheeseburger pizza and sesame chicken flatbread. I didn't get a lot of the beer cheese flavor coming through as the Dijon mustard drizzle was dominant, but I thought the flavors all complimented each other well and it was a good, unique pizza. The sesame chicken flatbread wasn't as good as we had a tough time identifying the sesame flavor, but overall solid. The zucchini appetizer arrived horribly over cooked, the server knew it and nonetheless served it. The rhubarb bread pudding offered for dessert was nothing more than a large spoonful of mush, with rhubarb that had not be appropriately prepped. Worse yet, the wine buckets that were a signature at Stella's and the only means of keeping a bottle of wine cold, have suspiciously and inexplicably been "lost." At the end of this dining experience, the server dropped the bill at our table and would not return to complete the task of payment. We had to go to the bar. The changes to the menu are not good. The zucchini preparation was poor, particularly the battering which only covered one side of the slice of zucchini. They down-graded the bread used in the French Dip sandwich from a ciabatta roll to a nondescript grocery store sandwich roll. There was no soup the night I visited, which were always a signature element of a meal at Stella's. And their desert menu is very limited. Ate here for the first time this summer, party of 5. We had nachos which were over cooked. My sister-in law's margarita flatbread was way over-cooked. The person who delivered the margarita flatbread stated it was necessary to serve it with burnt black edges to ensure the rest of it was cooked. The chicken on my chicken Parmesan was so overcooked that the edge was burned black and so hard I had to cut it off. This was a Saturday night so it was busy but the lack of quality control was inexcusable. Won't eat here again for a long if ever. read more

Hadn't been to Stella's in years (we don't eat out very often), but I have to say that I was really missing out. I had the chicken Parmesan sandwich and I was extremely impressed. The flavor was amazing and the amount of chicken on the sandwich was a bigger portion than I expected (which was a big positive for me). We came up north Thursday to ensure catching some good lake weather, but needed to catch up on some work with solid Wi-Fi beforehand. I was surprised by this place. We stopped at Stella's for lunch this fall . They had a great menu selection and friendly service. I had the Grilled Turkey Ruben and it was fantastic. The turkey was grilled and seasoned and covered in creamy Cole slaw on grilled Marble bread . Served with home made potato chips. My wife had the Cob Salad made with several types of fresh lettuce and generous chunks of turkey covered in a creamy Blue Cheese dressing Both were great!! We will be back! read more

Driving through rural Minnesota, it is often difficult to find dining for vegetarians. This restaurant not only had a couple of great options, but the value was incredible, too! There were a number of options on the appetizer menu, but I went for half of a salad, and just one, small appetizer. The "half" salad I got was HUGE, and well worth the $8.00 I paid for it. I also had the cheesy garlic bread, (which was just as tasty), and it was enough of a meal to keep me happy the rest of the day. This town is surprising with the the culinary options and value one can find here. There were 6 of us who dropped in for a weeknight dinner while visiting the area. It attracted us since we could sit outside on a pleasant evening. It took us some time to get someone's attention when we entered their huge entry/wine display lobby, nevertheless our hostess was very accommodating and friendly. The waitress was also very good, and we were impressed by the surprisingly imaginative menu. We ordered a variety of choices and thoroughly enjoyed the pear and gorgonzola salad, reuben sandwich, thai wraps, walleye tacos and others. The wine choices was surprisingly large. Slow service. We arrived in a party of 7 and they asked us to split up, so we did. We ordered almost right away. It took an hour to make three salads and a ham and cheese sandwich. Seriously! An HOUR. The wait staff was standing around inside doing nothing when after 45 minutes of waiting, I went to the bathroom. I asked the folks at my table to get me a water refill if she came back, but when I got to the table she had not checked on us so I still had no water. First time eating here, looks good from the outside, and inside, but the food quality was not matching. I ordered mozzarella sticks, and they came back basically how they were before you cooked them in oil. The cheese was hard and chewy, and the breaded part was very light and soft. After ordering some bread sticks, they came back burnt and charred like the person that made them forgot to set the timer for the oven. When one of the pizzas we ordered came, balsamic vinegar was swimming on it, and on the menu, it did not say it had balsamic vinegar. The next pizza we ordered, the veggie, flatbread pizza, was pretty decent, part of it was burnt, but overall it was alright. They also forgot to give us kids menus, when there were two kids with us. 3 out of 10, consider turning this back into a breakfast place, and not a restaurant. (respectfully). (servers were amazing though, kind, and refunded us for first two of our orders, apologetic. $83 even after being refunded for two items) breakfast items were good though. read more

I tried out this Battle Lake gem with my mom over the Fourth of July Weekend. We never eat at the restaurants in Battle Lake - no need to! But we decided to go here instead of making the usual lake side cold cut sandwiches. It is a classy joint for the area, one of the few elegant casual dining restaurants in the area. It would be right at home in a more urban setting. Stella's has live music some evenings and an inviting outdoor patio. The prices are pretty reasonable, but for the price I found it a bit odd that the sandwiches were served with kettle chips instead of fries or something. Nevertheless, they have a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, pizza and pasta. I had the walleye fish and chips (kettle chips???) and it was probably the best tasting fish and chips I have ever had. Really good. read more

We had supper reservations at Stella's for a bachelorette party. The food and drinks were amazing. We ended up staying for a few and went to a different bar for a while and then left to go back to Stella's. Unfortunately, the doors were locked, and we were bummed. The bride knocked on the window, and the manager let our bridal party in and served us drinks. We sang karaoke and drank lots. Not once did Zak, the manager, get annoyed with us. Well, Stella's is not the greatest for sure. I ordered duck strips and caprese salad. The duck strips are an abuse of the animal. I honestly could have been eating chicken livers. The deep frying of duck should be banned. The sauce was divine, but in short supply. The caprese used romas that were not in season and it suffered. It was undersalted and underpeppered. My wife enjoyed the seafood diabblo, but it was jambalaya without rice by me and she said the pasta was lacking spice/taste. My son had basil penne and had it before, bit said something was missing. The other two had chicken alfredo, the plates were small. If I did the duck, it'd have no breading, butter broiled. The caprese needed more dressing...spices to make up for Minnesota seasons. read more

Just attempted to have lunch at Stella's restaurant after my family enjoyed dinner last night. The waiter who seated us was blatantly rude when we asked to be seated in the shade and after our request to be seated at an open table inside was rejected. Once seated the waitress said she would be back with our waters. 20 minute later no waters or orders taken. We got up to leave and the same waiter says in blatantly sarcastic tone 'have a nice day guys' He repeated this twice so we were sure to hear. Won't be back again. read more
