The deli itself is great, and makes a lot of awesome sandwiches for decent prices. As I said, I don't like the weird upcharges for certain ingredients, but so be it. It makes the prices of a sandwich soar from decent to ridiculous. The sandwiches aren't altogether authentic Italian NY-NJ style, but they are very good. I loved the parts of it that I had fresh, however when I had the rest of the sandwich a little later it had gotten extremely squidgy and soggy because they use a regular loaf of bread rather than anythng hard or Italian. Again, makes it less authentic but still very tasty. Despite these remarks, I haven't had a sandwich this good in the Richmond area before, so you should give it a try. And if it were Niche Produce, then they'd only sell unusual and hard to get hipster vegetables and sandwiches. Whereas if it wer Nix Produce, it would close down soon. And if it were Knickers Produce then I would have torn them down a lot more quickly and intensely than I did in this review.

It sits along Broad Street near Willow Lawn and it's one of those places you drive past a dozen times without ever stopping. Slightly hard to access, easy to overlook. That's a shame because this isn't a casual grab-and-go -- it's a destination, even if the vibe is completely unpretentious. A friend suggested it and it made my day. The Greek radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s covers of songs I grew up with didn't hurt either. Next time I'm not trying to make just one meal of it.

We met the owner Faizal who was super friendly and talked to us about these popular ice cream sandwiches. After staring at the freezer for a few minutes trying to decide on flavors we all ended up with 5 ice cream sandwiches - 2 strawberry shortcakes, pecan pie, miso churro & peach cinnamon. We got to the car and ripped them open. They got soft quick so be sure to eat them up quickly. These ice cream sandwiches were huge. Both sides of the sandwiches were thick and chewy and the ice cream in the middle was stacked full giving you that perfect bite. The flavors were all so so good!!! My fave though would probably be the strawberry shortcake which had chunks of strawberries in it. The pecan pie was very good too, my fave ice cream flavor is butter pecan so I knew I would love the pecan pie flavor. Can't wait to try more of these and we will definitely be back to north side for their full stock of them! The selection of red wines is affordable but more obscure than your average convenience store, making for great pick-ups to bring to parties or give as gifts. The only thing I didn't see was portobello Mushrooms. I immediately noticed the clientele was mixed ethnicity. Wow, the store was playing Spanish music and there were aisles of Hispanic products. Each time I've tried something new, but among the things I've sampled are grilled chicken skewers, BBQ pork, meatloaf, sweet and spicy chicken, grilled chicken, roasted chicken, watermelon, crab cake, baked fish, veggie sushi, mac and cheese, pasta salad, and more. But it's cafeteria food that has that little bit of homemade taste that makes it infinitely better than the stereotypical "angry lunch lady with a ladle, slopping food onto a tray" food. I suppose if you filled up your plate with heavy items, you might pay more, but I have left completely stuffed for $7.50 every time. --Atmosphere: Soho is located inside of BB&T, which I believe is a bank, and is in some really fancy looking towers. The eating area is pretty basic, but nice enough, and the outdoor seating is really pretty. It's been too hot to eat outside, but it's nice to look at. --Service: There is a sandwich station that has employees, but for the most part, it's all serve yourself, like a buffet place. The staff at the register isn't very talkative, but always seems really pleasant. --Overall: It's not glorious. It's not high class eating. It's essentially a buffet cafeteria. But you know what? The price is very reasonable, a lot of the food tastes pretty home made, there are a lot of options, it's right by my building, and it's open all afternoon.
