They scheduled me for post-op, got to the week of, they called to reschedule but only gave me 2 dates, that didn't work and would not work me in for 3 months. Then tried to charge for it - I left without seeing the dr. Those are just a few examples...I have more... I like Dr. Kennedy but I would not recommend her on the basis of what I've experienced with her staff. Terrible.

I have been a 20+ year patient of Dr. Hollett. While his bedside manner may not be everyone's cup of tea, he has always been available to our family, still calls lab results himself (often at 10PM!), and is truly a throw back to the days of what we used to call "family doctor". today, everyone is either a primary care physician or a specialist. Dr. Hollett often has DMC interns tagging along with him in his office which, to me, shows his interest in helping tomorrow's physicians see the important work of family doctors. I first came to Dr. Hollett 20 years ago after being dropped as a patient of another doctor when I complained about waiting in his office for 2 hours. Seemed the former doctor was concerned about having patients criticize him for his office's lack of patient consideration. Dr. Hollett has never shown one instance of lack of concern about my well being. I would still keep him as my family doctor if I hadn't moved to South Carolina. Final summary: Excellent physician, personality skills could use some work. Taken in total, I would not want another physician.

If you make a payment keep all receipts or better yet pay with a credit card in case you lose a receipt. Any cash payments made at the office especially don't get recorded. They also tried to charge me $550 twice for PRP saying I got it done two weeks in a row when that is not even possible medically and then argued with me about it. I won't go back only because of this issue, it's not worth the hassle. It's constant and even though I have receipts to prove payments they still continue to send bills and turn it over to a creditor. It's the most unprofessional office I have ever dealt with.

At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.

I have received good care here. I appreciate the fact that if you are sick, many times you can get another appointment with another doctor.
