Beyond wonderful service, amazing attitude, thoughtful communication and dedication to helping you feel satisfied with your hair, I will always be recommending Stephanie to the girls who just want to feel confident in their most authentic selves For starters, I made an appointment at another local hair salon, and to my surprise, my stylist just didn't show up that day, which ended up becoming an inconvenience because I cleared my schedule to get my hair done that day (I wanted color-blocking and my hair is quite dark, so I needed to make time for lightening). They advised me to call Stephanie, which was ultimately the best thing! She made time for me to come and get exactly what I wanted. It was my first appointment after 6 months of grow out, she thinned out all my mats and weight but still kept my length (perfect for summer!) as well as gave me more blended shaping. I'll forever be thankful for the expertise & attention to detail of her craft! She was so communicative about what I was looking for as well as recommendations, which I believe ultimately enhanced the look. I started with Stephanie cutting my hair and adding layers. She did a good job. She added the color. I then sat under the dryer. Her assistant took over from that point. She was very thorough and found a spot that did not color well. I appreciated her noticing that. She styled my hair and did a great job. I am from MI and this was quite a bit more expensive so that would be my only concern. Overall they did a great job but very expensive. read more

She (Stephanie Alderete) fried my hair by dying my roots with a low quality, high ph dye that obliterated my hair cuticles. When she did this, she ruined my previous highlights and lowlights (that I had before I went to her), and my hair color ended up looking like some weird abstract art that someone threw paint at (very unnatural, very bizarre, very ugly). I can't understand this because she was supposed to just do my roots. When my hair dried, I contacted Stephanie and told her (actually sent her before she touched my hair and after pictures) and showed her the mess she made of my head. After finally taking responsibility for the mess she created, she asked me to come back and sign some forms and she would then give me a "discount" to fix the mess she created (therefore charge me again to fix the mess she created at a discounted rate); I took a hard pass - she will never touch my head again and I will never sign any of her 'forms'. Stephanie then proceeded by accidentally charging me twice. When I noticed the double charge the next day, I asked her to credit me the charge with the tip (which I had tipped her $50.00 because I had left with wet hair and could not see the damage she had done; I "wash and go", not blow dry etc.). So being the greedy tacky person she is, she credited the double charge that had no tip but kept the charge with the $50.00 tip knowing how disappointed I was in her "work" and knowing I had asked her to refund the extra/double charge back to me including the tip (because she double charged me and now I had to pay another hairdresser to fix the mess she created). She also has no clue on how to cut curly hair although she previously/initially lied to me and swore that she was an expert in cutting curly hair. She said she was giving me a curly cut and what she actually did was snip here and there and I ended up with unbelievably seriously obvious uneven botched-up hair with craters of curls missing. I also noticed that her way of doing business is like an assembly line of human heads, lacking proper care and attention, leading to burning scalps and unwanted color results; very impersonal, very rushed, very neglectful. And to add insult to injury (literally), she continued to point out to anyone and everyone within earshot to check out my skin, over and over again. It was obnoxious and ridiculous. I couldn't understand why until I got home. When I looked in the mirror, I noticed I had tiny peach fuzz along the bottom of my cheeks due to an autoimmune disease I have and the medications I take, and she, being the small, vane, little, nasty person she obviously is, took delight in pointing that out to everyone at the salon. i loved my experience at Stephanie Alderete Studio. Everyone is so welcoming, and it is Beautiful on the inside! It was my first time visiting this salon as I am new to town. When I message her for an appointment she responded quickly and got me right in. She is extremely professional and so much fun! I gave her a few thoughts on my hair but she had creative freedom.
