In late May, I took my mom to this office to have her toenails cut and filed by Dr Walkovich. Every member of his staff was very friendly and efficient. My mom was extremely impressed by Dr Walkovich's compassionate care. Although her toenails are difficult to cut (according to a previous podiatrist who cut her skin in the process), Dr Walkovich did an excellent job without harming her. He was also very personable. Unfortunately for us, we learned that this doctor was planning to move to Florida. However, my impression of the practice is that everyone there is caring and competent, so I would recommend this office for foot and ankle needs! They also have a practice In Perrysburg, OH that partners with the Toledo location. When I had foot surgery a couple of years ago, I recall the close coordination between the offices and one scheduler handled the appointments. They also take care of X-Rays within the office- super convenient!

I didn't have insurance, but it didn't seem to cost too much money to go there. When everything was all said and done, my bill was $880. For comparison, my one trip to the ER cost me $1,200 for basically an x-ray and a soft splint to hold me over. At Frenchtown Orthopedics, I had a dozen x-rays, two casts, and several visitations. Every time I went there, I was in and out in less than an hour. Melonakos recommended I get surgery on my foot since it was broken pretty bad and wasn't healing as fast, but I couldn't afford it. It took a long time for it to heal and be pain-free, but there was nothing I could do about it. With the $880 price tag when I was done, they gave me very reasonable repayment options: pretty much pay what I can within a reasonable time. They didn't add late fees or hound me to make absurd payments. I paid it off within a year. A few years later, I broke my toes and needed to see a foot specialist, but unfortunately, I didn't live in the area at the time.

I went back a few weeks later for a follow up on the other health issues, which I received no answers to, and asked about the ultrasound she had suggested. As she rushed me out of the office, her response was " An ultrasound would serve no purpose if it was not bad enough." About six months later I had no choice but to go to a gynecologist because of the pain. I had an ultrasound done and my reproductive system was covered with endometriosis, needles to say, I had to have a total hysterectomy.
