And them my dad's baguettes from his wedding ring - into a ring for myself with a design from help with Garo to ensure the baguettes wouldn't fall out. Each part of the decision making process I felt supported and also advised on the type of gold, what would work, why what I wanted would not work and letting me make the decision. In the end, I trusted Garo...and this ring designed to hold the memory of my dad turned out wonderful...and a lasting memory that I could wear every day. I then had my friends and my sister go to Garo - and they experienced the same - insightful, knowledgable, kind information when what you want may not be the best for you - but in the end - the diamonds won't fall out and the workmanship - amazing. It's good to feel you are in good hands with someone who has a passion for the art, the gems and you. These items were made and purchased about 4-5 years ago...and I've just come back to purchase an engagement ring. This time, instead of the help of Laura and Paul - Evan was the new consultant who helped me through the process. We met for the first time at the beginning of January to pick the stone - and then we decided on the setting with a lot of support and help from Evan. I first discovered them…read morewhen I was working as a personal assistant and my boss asked me to get some very unique cufflinks made. Unique as in...shaped like a particular type of military tank, with moving parts and all. NO ONE else would help me, especially for a reasonable price! Eventually, they ended up making some tuxedo shirt buttons to match. Every time my boss made me make some ridiculous change on them, they did it with a smile. Apparently, they're quite familiar with picky customers! I liked them so much that I ended up having my engagement ring and wedding ring designed by them. They very kindly worked within our budget. I was unlucky enough to have my stone crack on me about a week after I started wearing the ring (my center stone is a sapphire), and they replaced the stone for free and even modified the setting somewhat to fit the new stone better. None of us have any idea how the stone cracked, but for all we know I banged my own hand against something and without realizing it cracked the stone. Or, another theory is it just couldn't withstand the pressure when it was being set. But, it is likely it was my fault, and the fact that they agreed to set a new stone in it for free is another reason they're so amazing. Carol's designs are gorgeous, and they are both extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you are interested in a custom jewelry experience, I highly recommend them!

Bless them! My daughter's ring was a signet initial ring and they had many catalogue styles from which to choose. My next hope is that I will be able to have them make a custom ring or earrings. I would be SO lucky. We are very fortunate to have this special custom jewelry store and these more than special people in the Bay Area. I live in the Menlo Park area, but it is definitely worth a drive to find them.

I was shocked, and look, I get that there are external costs involved but a simple service like this should not cost more than $20-$30 in my opinion. If you want to remove some links then I suggest to do it yourself or look elsewhere. With that said, my poor review is due to the way the representative on the phone spoke with me. They got defensive and argumentative about the price and hung up on me. Customers service should be a priority for any business but their behavior was uncalled for. I wish them the best of luck.

There were more stores that came and went, so finding a familiar reputable name on the same block & at the same location brings back brand recognition & excitement! Gleim the Jeweler is a family owned brand that has began on University Ave in Palo Alto in 1931, that's 8 years short of a century! Gleim had 3 locations in the early 2000s, the initial goldsmith shop in Palo Alto, Stanford Shopping Center store where Gleim has been one of the original tenants, and here in Los Altos as well. They downsized back to the roots at one time, under the leadership of Georgie Gleim, the granddaughter of the founder. Only Stanford location has been kept throughout the past couple of decades, so now we have Los Altos store back into the mix of businesses on Main Street! I welcomed Rafik and Carolina to my downtown and they smiled at me gracefully! Let's take a look inside, shall we? I've been going to them for over 10 years. Most recently my (quartz) Breitling stopped keeping time--I brought it in for a necessary battery change and didn't bother to ask about cleaning at that time because I didn't think it was necessary. A few months later, my watch stopped keeping time--it was slow, sometimes by over an hour. I explained my issue with Calvin and he suggested that it was likely a cleaning issue. I left it in their hands and now it keeps perfect time and polished. My Breitling is 20 years old and it runs and looks like new with the polished bracelet. They do an excellent job and are very thorough with their work. Great customer service and I would highly recommend Lee and Calvin.
