Everything great variety new and used furnished our entire office 45 years ago and now furnishing our study in our new condo

No follow up to emails.. responded once, but no more afterwards . Disappointed.. wouldn't recommend due to lack of response

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!  This was more like a fire sale than an auction. I had 61 items listed (some were multiple items listed as a lot). I received, once commission and pick up fees were deducted, an average of $15.85 per item. Among the items sold were a mahogany double pedestal desk for $20, A six foot Micronesian wood carving (worth $1.5k) for $10. An Italian couch projected to bring in $750-$1,250 got $200.Watching the online auction was a nightmare. Most items had no bids and sold way below the suggested minimum. Everyone at Stephenson's was very nice, and responsive when I had questions, but the results were painful. If you're looking to buy really nice stuff, at prices that make Goodwill look expensive, then this is the place to go. I wish I hadn't listened to a family friend who had recommended them. Ultimately, I feel cheated. read more

Completely unacceptable business practices. There was no transparency & I was never told how the auction actually works. Apparently, they put my items (12 beautiful stemware wine glasses, a Fitz & Floyd serving tray that was never used, an unusual 28" cheese tray that was brand new & a custom made large flower arrangement into a group sale with no minimum to start. I was told I made $2.00. Is that unbelievable? The day before the auction I talked to Cindy & she didn't even know where all my items were. She said she would call me that night or over the weekend. I never did hear from her. This was happening 2 months after I brought my items in. I was told the auction would be in 2 weeks ( a complete lie). So, needless, to say I am very upset & at a loss. I would rather have donated the items to Purple Heart to help the veterans which I often do. The only reasonable person in the company is a man named Tom who was polite & didn't hang up on me as one other employee did. If you do not want to be cheated do not bring anything to auction off to Stephenson's Auction House. Dina L. read more

I'll give it 3 stars. Honestly, the number of stars are based on what is at the auction. Tonight was a 2 star, but I've been to 4 star auctions there. Print off the auction book ahead of time. Save $3. They always do box lots at 5pm. They start with jewelry, then cased items, then art then furniture and misc. usually 400-500 lots. Starts at 4 pm and usually ends around 9 pm. I brought in items in brand new condition, still wrapped and in original boxes. It was a Danbury Mint Princess Diana doll in her wedding gown and 6 additional outfits all still wrapped and new. All several years old. This was in Feb. 2022. I was told that there would be an on line doll auction coming up in early spring and that it would be seen by thousands of people worldwide. I was told that I could see somewhere between $300-$500 although there was no guarantee which I understood. The auction did not take place until Nov. 2022. When I checked on line, the items were not posted. I called and was told that they would look for them. Not a good sign! The next day, after no response, I spoke to Cindy, the owner. She said that they would not be part of the on line auction but rather in the in person auction a few days later. Several weeks later I received a check for $6.75. I was devastated and furious to say the least. I spoke to Cindy again and she very politely told me that there was nothing that could be done about it. I never would have left the items at all if I hadn't been misled when I brought them in to be evaluated. I will never know what actually happened but I do know that I would never go back there again. read more

Do not use this place to sell furniture. Here is my recent experience two weeks ago @ June 6th, 2014 I used Stephensons to sell (auction) off furniture from my home. A friendly gent named Tom came to my house and walked around giving me his estimate of what each item could generate. He would say for each of the more valuable items "I can get anywhere from $600-$800" . at the conclusion of his tour of the house and patio I signed a form and the furniture and TV's were picked up The auction was held and to my shock I received 1/4 of the estimate he gave me net of commission. I called and he said: 1) I am very sorry, I know how you feel 2) it was a bad nite 3) I did the best I could Hmm, the $600-$800 conservative estimate he gave me for my 9 piece Bernhardt cherry Asian style dining room set was sold for $35!!!!!! Slightly lower than $600-$800. His boss Cindy said the estimates Tom gave me were too high Well, had I known my furniture would generate 1/4 of their estimate I would have made another decision with my furniture. Stored some, gave den set to my son. Incredible!! Completely unacceptable. They never explained how the process works, ie, I could end up selling a 9 piece dining room set from my marriage in very good condition for $35. Shocking, Unacceptable!!! Lack of transparency. If I didn't ask the question, they did not volunteer how the process works I have filed a formal complaint with the Pa Regulatory authorities. read more

As a seller, you would do much, much better on Facebook Marketplace. I sold a small bookcase with glass doors for five times more than what Stephenson's sold my cherry farmhouse style dining table, 6 chairs and hutch. Other items...a like-new grandfather clock (which I saw recently online for 4500.), a wrought iron patio set, and a few large rugs were sold dirt cheap. If I'd had more time I definitely would've sold these things on Facebook Marketplace. read more

My experience with Stephenson's Auction was beyond awful. They're estimate was thousands of dollars off compared to the pitiful amount of money we received. I regret dealing with them. My experience was very disappointing and upsetting. read more

They took a beautiful item on consignment... then didn't put it up for auction and still claim on Liveauctioneers.com that they did and it's listed as sold. I have asked them several times to remove it and they always say they will then don't! It has been several years and it's still there. That directly effects the value of the item! RUDE AND DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES to do that! read more

This place is great for a good bargain or rare antique. They always have different stuff. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only negative is some guy comes in every Friday and buys a lot of furniture and he pulls his truck up in the no parking spot at the only front entrance and blocks everyone else from getting their stuff out. I was blocked by his long ramp and asked him nicely to move it so I could push my item I bought past him towards my truck and he argued with me that I should carry it through the grass and around his truck! I was parked on the other side! This guy and his crew are really rude and frustrating to other buyers. I hope that something would be done because it is a very enjoyable auction and easy entry and exit if its not blocked of course! read more

Watch out for these auctioneers. If I could I would give them NO stars but Yelp won't let you. I bid on an auction online and was told I had won. Then a few days later I was told I was outbid! How am I outbid when I won the auction. Don't waste your time bidding online with them. Personally I will never bid for anything on their auction site again!!!! read more

This place is terrific for purchasing used office furniture and equipment as well as home office furniture. The prices are quite reasonable and the sales people are very helpful. Great selection of used computer monitors and small office equipment that you can buy for super reasonable!! I have sent friends here who were starting a small business and they did just as well as my husband and I did here. We go back every few months to look around; well worth the trip! read more

This place is the worst place for selling your stuff unless your in good with the family.If you know the family then they will put your stuff in the main room and put a few items on a small tray mostly junk you can buy at rices or neshaminy flea market for a fraction of the cost but you'll find someone dumb to bid on your stuff between 10$ to 60$.so I take my items there on a monday such as a wooden antique cradle and 10 boxes prelabled items lenox, perfume bottles,bone china,english plates etc worth well over a hundred dollars and I show the young guy who seems to be on suboxone and he puts all your stuff in the back room in a bin all because I don't know the mean family.i go there Friday for the auction and I noticed my cradle is in the main room but with someone elses number on it claiming it. so I go up to suboxone boy and I said why is someone elses number on my item. he didn't have an answer he took my item into the back room and said he will put it in next weeks auction.i refused and requested it be given back to me.so the auction starts and in the contract you sign if you don't make over 50$ in auction sales then you don't get anything for your items.they keep it and in the back room they start the bidding at 2$ so you'll never make the minimal.so you pretty much just loose your stuff and your money and get nothing,this is not first complaint, others have also complaind, they should be investigated for corruption. read more
