My daughter was SUPER excited to go to gymnastics all morning, and even in the lobby. But as soon as it was time for her to hit the mats, she got major anxiety. She clinged to me, fidgeted her fingers, wanted to leave, cried, held my hand, and had a rough time getting behind the gate, as she eased herself behind the gate and onto the mat both teachers kept trying to get her to come join the other kids, several times and paid attention to my daughters emotions. After about 45 minuets my daughter finally got the courage to go onto the Mat during hide and seek and then got upset and started crying because she didn't get to use the trampoline. One of the teachers noticed and let her use the trampoline before the next class started to help with her comfort. My daughter has been with the gym pretty much since the opening. We started in a preschool class and loved everything about it. We were invited to join pre-team and once again were very happy. The coaches have all been wonderful and work well with the kids. We have competed with SGA for 2 seasons and while being on a competition team has its challenges we could not be happier. Going into our 3rd competitive season I have seen my daughter grow as a person and as a gymnast. We are a proud SGA family! The gym is always being cleaned, bringing in the latest equipment and has expanded several times over the few short years it has been around. Excited for the additional changes to come. The only real negative is the parking lot but it's only an issue on busy nights at pick up. read more

We have been going here for almost 2 years and strongly considering leaving due to numerous issues with customer service and safety. My child was upset numerous times by the way the coaches and owner speak to/treat my child and other kids. After speaking with other families about concerns regarding the gymnastic class schedule, we reached out to management who refused to be flexible by starting practice slightly later to prevent chaos in the small parking lot. This resulted in numerous safety concerns outside the facility with small children crossing the parking into the entrance while cars are rushing their kids in to avoid being late. My daughter just started & she loves it!!! Her face every Saturday morning is priceless! She's so excited & looks forward coming back with her friends & teacher every weekend! Everybody there is really helpful, welcoming & nice. Her teacher is awesome! Great with the kids, takes her time with the kids showing & helping them. I'm glad I chose them out of the couple other places I called around to. I was able to go in the same day. They have a temp & hand sanitizer at the door & also hand sanitizer through the building For the kids & parent. They are very clean!! Very safe read more

My daughter has been asking to do gymnastics. As I went in search of options, sterling is the only gym (out of 6) that retuned my inquiry, but they were incredibly friendly, prompt and accommodating! They didn't just throw info at me, they walked through and made suggestions along the way. Needless to say my daughter and son both attend and they've LOVED it here!! We have been customers here for several years. My son took three different rec classes here and he loved them all. Every coach he had was knowledgeable and attentive. He has now been on the team for almost a year and I can not say enough positive things about the coaches, owners and staff. They truly care about the kids and seeing the kids do the best they can. Great place to keep your children engaged in a social setting all while strengthening their bodies to be the best they can be! The area is very clean and I love the fact that parents can watch their children in the viewing room! Kaitlyn was taking the time to show my daughter what to do on her first day! Great place for your kid/kids to learn gymnastics. Friendly office Staff. You have to log in or sign up over the computer and they will walk you through the steps if you are not computer literate. both my kids have gone here for over a year. the price is affordable & the coaches are well trained. The desk staff greet us every time we walk in & always friendly. my 4yr old adores going & my 1yr old and i do the "mommy and me" toddler class which is always a blast! The facility in itself is well cleaned & offers plenty of seats and tables for the parents and children to do homework & the free wifi is nice as well. read more

My daughter has so much fun at Toddler Time! For an hour 2x a week she gets the whole gym to herself and the other kids who attend. They all have so much fun jumping on the trampolines and climbing over all the mats. I noticed a change in my daughter's motor skills within the first week, especially with how she can jump on the trampoline! my daughter attended a birthday party here and we were so impressed by the facility and the class starting afterwards we went ahead and signed her up for classes. she had her first class tonight and the instructor was amazing with her and she had the best time!! Joe (Joey) Newport, the owner/coach is a very unprofessional and thoughtless individual. In a group conversation with the team member parents he referred to his clients as "you people (and I do mean that in a derogatory manner)" because he was upset about parents voicing their concerns about scheduling. Take your pick if you choose to do business with an individual who will treat you this way. read more

My daughter has always wanted to learn tumbling for possible cheerleading in the future. She is really enjoying what she's learning. It challenges her and she is learning, but also having fun. The gym is set up nicely so parents can stay and watch if they choose. Staff seems friendly and there are a lot of coaches that seem knowledgeable. We have been at SGA for most 2 years now and couldn't be happier. The coaches (Alycia, Charlie, Tori, Joe, and many more) are great with the kids and very knowledgeable. Throughout this whole COVID thing, this gym has been amazing. They have keep our family informed of the charges and the bonus credits we were receiving! I spoke directly with one of the managers yesterday, and they informed me of the the new equipment they added and the procedures they have put in place for a safe return. I was nervous signing my son up (who is on the spectrum) because I didn't want him to be a distraction since he requires a bit more attention and direction but the first day went great, the instructors were very understanding of his needs and same with Jen, who I spoke to first. :) He loved it and keeps asking when the next class is! read more

Love the vibe here! Friendly staff greeted us and even helped entertain my busy toddler while I tried to finish some paperwork. The instructor was organized and had some fun, creative obstacle courses set up with a pirate theme. The space was very clean and vibrant. I could not recommend a better gym then Sterling Gymnastics Academy!!!!!! They have the BEST coaches in Michigan. The gym is clean and the office staff is organized and very easy to work with.
