I been extremely disappointed with usps especially this location in particular. We are an online retail store & we ship orders out weekly. When we have scheduled pickups & the mail carriers picks up the package, we immediately get a email confirming our scheduled packages has been picked up. Lately our packages are getting picked up but we are not receiving our email confirmation when usps picks up the package & then neither you or your customer can track the package while the status stays "awaiting collection" which is completely ridiculous & absolutely unacceptable. This affects our store in more than one way negatively costing now & later. I'd appreciate if you guys can speak to your male scheduled Pickup carriers to actually do their job and scan the package when picking it up otherwise don't work at USPS!!!! you should not be picking up packages and not scanning so the customer can track it. That's part of what they paid you guys for. Top it off when you call the phone number here they won't speak to you unless they have a tracking number which you paid them for only to give you an invalid one making it impossible to speak to anyone about how to fix issues they create for you!!! read more

The amount of times I've had to call up this office for an issue related to damaging my mailbox, misplacing my mail, or forgetting to provide our key is genuinely stupid. EVERY TIME I call for assistance, nobody is available. I have to work my way through their incompetent AI call center every other month regarding a new issue. Going in person isn't much better due to racist staff as others have already mentioned... My latest issue that's finally driven me to write out a review? Whoever delivered my mail broke our key and instead of reporting it, having my mail delivered directly, or literally any of the other smart options at their disposal, they just left the broken key in our mailbox. I can't access my mail and I'm driving myself ragged trying to get an agent (not the useless AI bot!) on the phone. I've called about 6-8 times by now with no luck. I've submitted a support request, scheduled callbacks, but haven't been able to get anyone on the phone. This is the worst service I've ever received from a post office. read more

I went last September to renew my son's passport. Rhonda is the most racist person l've ever encountered in a public facility. She was rude and treats you misareably, As soon as she saw my non-US passport. And good luck trying to ask a question, she will just stare you in a manner like you just offended her. I went to the Sterling Heights location on 11-24-25 at 9:11 a.m. there were three clerks working. A tall light skinned black man provided me me with excellent service. I had to send a express package to my daughter in Chicago and he was great. The other clerks were also courteous to the customer's next to me in line. Thank you, young man for helping me. read more

I would avoid this post office at all cost! The workers are incompetent. I remember going there previously and swearing I would never go back because I had such a horrible experience, but forgot it was this location and ended back up there today. I asked the first lady I spoke to if they do passport pictures here. She went to the back to ask someone if they did and came out and told me no. Walking out , another customer overheard my question and he said he was waiting there for that exact reason. I looked where he was waiting and they had a whole passport section right in the lobby of the post office. As I was checking for appointments, the lady talking to that guy confirmed he could get a photo. They must do passport photos there all day and these people were going to tell me they don't have that service there at all. Where do I even begin. My partner and I have lived at our current apartment for 4 years. When we moved in our front office told us they didn't have a mailbox key and to go here to get it. They also didn't have the key. So for the past FOUR YEARS we've been strung along to get a key and to get our mail we've had to catch the mail person to either unlock our box or hand it to us. They've been gracious about it every time, thankfully. Until this week, where a new deliverer was at the box and had to ask his manager over the phone if that was ok. She told him no. So I asked to speak with her and upon speaking to her she was the most down right rude person i've ever had to deal with. She told me she was going to withhold my mail and i found out she ended up LYING about doing that, told me the deliverer couldn't open my box? (even though we've NEVER had a problem as long as we had an ID in hand). I was told to go to the post office to order a new key (that's fine as long as i actually get one) and when i went to this post office they were ALSO rude. I showed them my lease agreement and RHONDA tried to tell me that this wasn't my current residence??? like HELLO?? i wouldn't be going through ALLLLL of this if this wasn't my residence. I'm done. Of all the places I've lived in my life, Sterling Heights post office has had the absolute worst and most unreliable mail delivery I've ever experienced. It's almost unbelievable. In addition to returning my mail to sender because they thought I had moved, now I'm not receiving my work checks. I'm a freelancer and I run my own business. Many of my clients still pay via check. Now, I know we've got a pandemic going on but this is extreme and started before the coronavirus thing even started. So many of my checks are never delivered or are extraordinarily late. This has caused me severe financial hardship. I hate having to bug my clients over payment issues that aren't even their fault. I've got shut off notices from DTE. Why? Because $1000 of my checks are still out there, sent out 45 days ago, God knows where. I can't pay my bills! I have a mortgage! Health insurance! This is unreal! As of yesterday, I decided to sign up all of my 300+ check paying clients to an electronic delivery program. Thank God the software system allows for a 30 day free trial because I literally couldn't pay for it due to not receiving my checks. It's a pain to have to sign up over 300 clients but it's worth it to get out of this hole I'm in. I have a problem with the delivery person delivering my mail to other neighbors mail boxes. I live in a Senior building and I have an on going problem with mail being placed in the box before mine or the box after mine. These neighbors don't seem to think that it's NOT their mail and CAN'T bring it to my apartment. All they have to do is just stick it between the door and the door jam. (Yeah!! nice people). This happens on a regular basis and now I've lost a new debit card to who knows where. It doesn't seem to be a big problem with sorting the mail according to the addresses but IT IS a big problem when placing the mail in the individual boxes. Seems like it's to hard of a job to look at the mail they are placing in the boxes. Lazy and indifferent to what type of job they are doing. So I'm expecting a package before going away for a couple days. It's supposed to be delivered 7/31/2020. I get a tracking update that it's arrived at the Sterling Heights Post Office the morning of the 30th. Great! Should be delivered as expected on the 31st. Except it wasn't. I waited...and waited...but it never arrived as promised. If I'd known the package wouldn't be delivered on the 31st, I would've tried to claim it in the post office on the 30th - if that's even possible due to COVID. So I was unable to share the contents of the package over the weekend as hoped, much to the disappointment of the intended recipient. I wish this were an isolated incident. I was irritated I had to come here to begin with, but the two pleasant gentlemen that were working were very friendly and accommodating so that made the trip in, a good one. In all of my years living in this general area, I have NEVER gone off the service drive of Metro Parkway, and nearly missed the exit to find it.... Hidden along the side of 16 mile is the Sterling Heights Post Office. You have to take a side road past Chrysler, and find it nestled in where you wouldn't have thought it was hiding at. This location is great, rather prompt service... however if you dare go between 11-1pm, you're going to get stuck in a very long lunch line... so be prepared to wait. And for crying out loud... if you're smart enough to use a U-Scan at a grocery store, go try the automatic postal systems that can get your packaged shipped faster than you can say "Whatcanbrowndoforyou?" :) read more

The package wasn't actually scanned and accepted into the system at the Sterling Heights Post Office for 9 days. It just sat there until I filed a lost package claim on the tracking number. I have never been more irritated in my whole life trying to contact this post office or ANY post Office in Sterling Heights. They ALL share the same phone number and you can not in ANY way reach a real person at all. A pkg of medications has apparently been held up in Allen Park. I finally reached a very nice person at the Shelby Office and he found out it was held up in Allen Park. The frustration is #1 I am completely out of my medicine and #2 I can't talk to a human being because everything is automated and #3 when leaving a message the supervisor for my zip code has not returned my phone call for 4 days and his mailbox is filling up. I had to go to Urgent Care today because of this situation because I am completely out of 3 medications that are apparently lost.... read more

PLEASE READ THIS! On August 20th, I had an altercation with my mail delivery person. He has a 'buddy' that he likes to chat with for 20-30 minutes at a time in front of the mail boxes (the large shared box type with individual boxes that open from the front used in condo communities) preventing others from getting their mail. I had seen this and said something to him a number of times in the past, but this time he and his 'buddy' responded with a verbal attack, yelling and swearing at me. The carrier also almost hit my car when he floored the gas pedal and left. I have also had two occasions over the last 2 years where packages were tracked onto this carriers (DAVE) truck as out for delivery, then disappear, never delivered and never scanned again. Not even 30 minutes after the incident, I called the local Sterling Heights hub post office (the one on 16 Mile between Van Dyke and Mound) and asked to speak to someone to make a complaint. I was sent to a supervisor named KIM, who was not there but I left a voicemail with a brief explanation and my contact information. I then found the phone number for the post office complain line, and called them. I explained what happened, and they opened a case saying they would look into it. KIM called me back the next day, and would not let me speak at all. She spoke over me telling me that the carrier, DAVE, came to her to tell her about the situation (a completely different, and false story), and, still talking over me, said "frankly I don't believe any of what you said." And when I tried to get some words in, was hung up on. So she never asked my to explain things more, would not let me speak, called me a liar, and hung up on me. I immediately called the complaint line again to add what just happened with KIM to the open case notes. They read back to me what I had said originally, and added the new information. I had not heard anything back about the case so I called back today to get an update. I found that EVERYTHING I had said to them was now GONE! NOTHING was in the case notes except what KIM had told them (everything false). SOMEONE INTENTALLY WENT INTO THAT CASE REPORT AND DELETED EVERYTHING I SAID SO THAT NOTHING WOULD BE LOOKED INTO! It was all there when I called to add to add the information about the phone call because they read it back to me, and now nothing! I had to restate everything, and it is now being sent to the postal inspector. I asked if I could have a copy of what is being sent (who knows, it might not even exist tomorrow) as proof, but was told they could not do that (convenient). The initial incident is one thing, but to find out that someone there can just alter records like that is extremely disturbing!! read more

The subs that this office uses when the regular carrier (who is great) are extremely lazy. One today left mail in my mailbox, which was a book that was being returned so there is no doubt that he saw it when he delivered. No note, no knock on the door to tell me why he didn't take it. I had to track him down to give it to him and explain to him that it had a postage pre-paid label on it to return it. He didn't acknowledge his mistake or apologize, just went back to playing with his phone!!!! Im waiting for a call back from a supervisor, which I'd bet will never come! read more

My postal service is horrible. I constantly receive my neighbor's mail, sometimes the mail does not get delivered at all or when I stop mail during a vacation they'll leave some mail in the box. I just called them to report a check was not delivered and to notify her of my problems in the past. She told me that with all the cuts going on, mail is not gaurenteed to be delivered in 2-3 days like it used to be and that the postal workers are human and can make mistakes. Very bad service called in to 800 number on a sat around 1pm and was still on hold till almost 5pm The USPS sucks kinda figure when its government ran you figure you get better service but what do I expect my own government cant take care of things why should I expect the same from there postal service too what a shame our country has gone to hell and our government don't give a care on anything. My postal service is terrible, its the worst, we always receiving the neighbors mail. Many times our mail is lost!! It would be nice if the delivery person could READ!! Sometimes the trash man sets the empty trash cans close to the mailbox. The postal worker places a sticker on the mailbox that says: cannot deliver, access blocked, are they for real?? If there was an option for zero stars I would change my rating. I had a package that was supposed to be delivering to me from Turkey and it required a signature upon delivery, which I was not aware of until a delivery attempt was made. I received the little slip in my mailbox stating they had come by and no one was home, but it said I could go online and schedule a redelivery for whatever day I choose. I picked the following Friday (about 3 days later) which was May 12 and put in the notes that my husband will be working from home all day so someone will be there to sign for the package. Apparently the post office decided to ignore my scheduled redelivery date and they attempted it on Thursday, May 11 when no one was home. I'm sorry my husband and I have jobs that require us to be away from home at 3 in the afternoon, like most people we know. When I got home from work on Friday, the correct day of redelivery, my husband said that he was home all day and that no one stopped by at all. I checked the door and our mailbox and we did not have another "sorry we missed you" slip. I called the post office and after waiting on hold for over 45 minutes I finally connected with someone who told me they attempted delivery on Thursday and Friday but no one was home either day. This is not true, my husband was home all day and would have answered the door if anyone was there. The representative put in a "case" for me and said someone would look into my matter and call me back. I got a call from Nancy today and she said that I "need" to come get my package from the post office because redelivery was already attempted one time (and she said they do not attempt redelivery more than once) and they will not be sending the package out again. I asked her why they ignored my confirmed redelivery date that I chose and decided to come the day before. She told me that if someone is in the area they attempt delivery again. I then asked her why they claimed to have delivered on Friday when they actually did not but she claims they did at about 3:00 pm again. I asked her if this was true then why did they not leave one of the slips in my mailbox or on my door stating they came by, and she said do not leave those upon redelivery. I find that extremely odd since I received a slip the day before when they attempted redelivery. I firmly believe that someone read my scheduled delivery date incorrectly and made their "one redelivery attempt" on Thursday instead of Friday and then lied about coming on Friday at all to cover their butts. So now I have to drive out of my way to pick up this package in the middle of rush hour traffic and put my other plans on hold.
