Wayne is great! My mother needed to have a faucet and garbage disposal unit installed on her kitchen sink. Originally Roto Rooter was called and the technician tried to pull a fast one on my mom who is elderly. Thank goodness she called me because the quote was for $1k! Assessing her needs I decided to look for a handy man service and came across Wayne. My mom is very pleased with Wayne and impressed by how thorough he is with his work, friendly, respectful and most important of all honest. Explaining step by step what he's doing. There was even a small issue from when the garbage disposal unit was last installed and Wayne had to put some "elbow grease" in it but was able to get the job done! The other companies wanted to add on diagnostic plus time to go out and get me a replacement thermostat since I didn't know what I needed. He asked for pictures and gave me advice on what to buy so I can get that ahead of time and save him time, and save me money. I really appreciated this. He was flexible with last minute scheduling change, and came on time. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with my wiring that the electric box was on but the thermostat not working, but in the end, he was in and out in less than an hour and a half. Wayne did yeoman work and persevered far beyond what he should have had to do. We hired him to replace a bathroom fan and light, but because of the way our house was built, getting the old unit out was beyond difficult. He kept coming up with solutions and work-arounds and eventually succeeded getting the new unit into the ceiling. The whole thing should have taken an hour, but ended up being nearly four. I tried replacing my bathroom exhaust fan and got stuck trying to remove the exhaust fan housing. Took me 2 days and I failed miserably. Called Wayne and requested help. He got back to me promptly and quoted a very reasonable fee. It took longer than expected and proved somewhat difficult but Wayne knew what he was doing and the end result is a NEW EXHAUST FAN. Wayne is great and works hard with very reasonable price. Replaced an old bathroom exhaust fan, which turned out to be a tricky project due to the old housing design and weird drywall/spacing issue. He took the time to get everything right without charging extra. Also helped us replaced a tub spout, again another tricky project due to bad installation by previous person. The whole project probably took 3x the time of a regular job but he did everything to help us out and also cleaned up after the project well. I hired him to replace a broken sliding glass door track and to repair/ replace a sliding screen door. He ordered the sliding glass door track and when he assessed the damage, he told me he could repair the broken track. The repair would not be quick fix/ temporary and should hold a while. By repairing instead of replacing, he saved me money. He is honest and trustworthy. He could have just replaced the track and charged me the higher price. He also tried to repair my screen door, but was unable to do so and had to replace it. But he didn't charge me an arm and a leg for that either. Wayne has done some amazing repairs for us. A while back our top floor lights were all out intermittently though the circuit breaker did not trip. He was able to trace the problem to an outlet that was burned out. Recently he was able to clean our dryer vent which has not been cleaned in 30 years because the vent duct is not accessible. He was able to take the dryer apart and cleaned the duct from inside the dryer. We are so glad to have dry clothes in half the time now. Wayne is very professional, friendly and patient. Wayne does tremendous work and charges very, very reasonable rates. He is quick to respond and makes sure he asks all the right questions including what parts to use (when relevant). He can handle a wide variety of projects and makes sure both during and afterwards that he is performing the task to your liking, which means no surprises at the end. He won't leave until you're happy. I had Wayne do drywall repair on a couple large holes in my ceiling and wall and the results are beautiful. He also resealed my tub/shower enclosure because it was leaking and now it's watertight. And lastly, he weatherstripped my front door to keep the north wind that blows against it from coming into the house. Wayne is detailed oriented: example - he studied the show door alignment issue carefully and undid the earlier ad-hoc solution to provide a long term solution.2. Wayne has great 'after-sales' service - example - he followed up to inquire about the touch faucet solenoid issue several days following the repair to make sure that it did not leak.3. Wayne is resourceful - example - over the Thanksgiving weekend, he came up with a stop gap measure while waiting to develop a longer term solution for the kitchen faucet. This would have been highly inconvenient place and time to be without water. I was most appreciative of this stop gap measure. read more
