I emailed Joseph in late April asking for a tuning appt. It took a week to get a response back, but during an email exchange I was offered and accepted an appt, but never got confirmation. In my email I gave my phone number too but didn't hear anything. I left a voicemail for an appt confirmation later that week and never got a response. I called again when no one showed for the appt he had offered me. He apologized but had booked someone else. Disappointed with lack of communication as I've been waiting, and it affects my piano students as well. I will hire someone else with better communication and response time. read more

We moved recently and the "professional" movers tried to unload our piano without a ramp or a dolly. Unsurprisingly, they dropped it. :( When we unwrapped it, half the keys were stuck and wouldn't play, and the rest were woefully out of tune. I recently moved to Portland and found an old, dusty, and EXTREMELY out of tune piano in the basement of the house I'm renting. I called Joseph and described the situation to him. He did not seem daunted and fit me in very quickly. After hours of hard work tuning it, it's playable! I don't know if every piano tuner would take on such a challenge with a smile like Joseph did. I just had my 60 year old upright tuned by Joseph and it sounds amazing! It's never been tuned and Joseph tuned and repaired it so it sounds beautiful! Joseph is a piano whisperer. My baby grand was very upset after its most recent move, keys knocking, sticking, just a mess. He went through it top to bottom and discovered that the movers had inserted the wrong bolt in the wrong place, which threw the entire action of the keyboard off. He even ran to the hardware store to get the right wrench so he could fix it! Talk about going above and beyond.
