Other contractors had told me we'd need at least 6 to 10 hours of grinding to get anywhere, and being the center of my house, that just wasn't an viable option. Mark came out to take a look, and gave me some additional options that did not require nearly as much grinding. He also had some ideas to help mitigate and contain the dust that would be generated, which other folks had not bothered to try and work with me on. While I only needed options for this one room, Mark gave me a proposal for doing the entire flooring job (7 rooms in total, over 1400 square feet). Prices were a bit higher than the other outfits I had talked to, but Mark's company specializes in hardwood floors and I liked his attitude and the willingness to work with me on the dust and grinding concerns, not to mention his straightforward honesty. While we had a few slight hiccups at the very outset, the installation moved ahead at a very quick pace and did not relent until we wrapped up exactly seven days later. We ran into a number of issues, primarily with the 30 year old slab having settled or cracked (or both) in most of the rooms, but Dan and Will, who did the install, were able to surmount them all without missing a beat. These guys have known each other for eight years and worked together more than half that time, and it absolutely shows when you watch how well they function as a team. They work quickly and efficiently and are absolute masters of their craft. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the job they did or the speed with which they knocked it out. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I don't pull punches and I do not hesitate to call out shenanigans. In this case, I really have nothing but good things to say about the folks at Phoenix Hardwood. These guys knocked it out of the park and exceeded my expectations in every regard. My wife and I are thrilled with how the floors turned out, and our only regret is that we did not hire them sooner. Subsequent years saw a few leaks every couple of months. I suppose I should have asked what type of poly tube they were using but figured for the price (over $3k), they'd be using something of quality. I was way wrong. I have had to engage Sprinkler Doctors for each leak (and it's not just one at a time, it's several at a time) after giving up doing it on my own. It just became a burden. Every instance of Sprinkler Doctors coming out to fix the leaks, the tech invariably asks, "who installed this?" and "this tubing is cheap." Most recently, I had a tech come out to address more leaks and he flat out told me that the tubing they used was garbage and the installers should have or would have known that. My entire system needs to be replaced because now, with each leak fixed, another leak pops up a little further down the line. So if you want to have fun repairing leaks a year after install, go with this company! If that doesn't sound like a grand time to you, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. TL/DR: irrigation tubing should last about 10-15 years after installation if it's buried. Mine hasn't even lasted eight. Leaks began occurring the year after installation.

We had hired him to trim the tree later in the week, but after the windstorm he re-arranged his schedule to pull us forward earlier in the week. We really appreciated this because the tree was dangerous to our home and our neighbors. They did an amazing job on our tree, and I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of that project. In 2020, we were written up by our HOA for overgrown aloe plants. I called several companies for quotes, and I decided to go with Landscape Guy when his quote was competitive with the other offers. He did us a solid favor the year earlier with the tree, and I trusted his work. We agreed on a day for the plant removal, and his team arrived in the morning. They were courteous and very thorough. In addition to removing the aloe plants, they also blew the front yard and carted off all the debris in our yard beyond the plants that they removed. They exceeded our expectations because we weren't expecting them to clean the seed, leaves and pods that had dropped from our neighbors tree onto our property. We confirmed a demo for the following week, and on demo day, he texted to tell me he was really busy and might not make our appointment, which he scheduled personally.
