Today was our first visit here and it did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I felt safe with how well staffed the pools were. There were far more lifeguards here than at The Great Wolf Lodge. The lifeguards were observant, the place was very clean, and everything ran smoothly. There is a snack bar by the pool but food is not allowed in. The only thing you can bring in is sealed water bottles. No coolers or hydro flask type bottles. They do check bags prior to purchasing passes. The hours are 1-5

So today was my first time taking my 3 little boys here. They're ages 5, 3 & 2. They loved it here as it has just enough to keep them busy and entertained, while also allowing me to keep an eye on everyone without worrying, like if I took them to wet N wild. There are two big slides for kids/adults 48" and taller, there is also a kiddy playground in the water with tons of spray fun and a slide on that for the younger ones. There is also a cute lazy river, and the boys and I enjoyed it. My 5 year old knows how to swim and he was over in the deep pool jumping off the diving boards as well. Which is located near the lap pools. We are not resident of Glendale so we had to pay $1 more per person I think... overall it was super cheap- around $13.50 for all 4 of us. My 2 year old was free. The hours are only 1-5pm during the week, which is ok with me, it gives my boys a good 4 hours to play and wear themselves out. On Saturdays they open at 11:30am I believe, and stay open until 7. They also have a pretty nice snack bar- lots of food and drink options as well as coffees. Yum! I had a dirty iced chai latte, I really liked it. Prices are fair for a concession stand and much less expensive than Wet N wild. You can even bring food and snack, you just have to keep them in a red locker before heading out. You must also be sure to eat in the concession area that is roped off. It helps keep the grounds clean. There isn't a bunch of trash all over because of this rule, which is great! I highly recommend this place if you want the water park fun but don't want to be overwhelmed by Wet N Wild. We plan on coming back tomorrow. This will definitely be a summer regular for our family. Wish they had one of these for Peoria.

I stopped in and met Sara, one of the owners of Green Zone and learned more about their business. I contemplated trying to get into a class right then and there but it would have been rushed, so instead I signed up for their Saturday 8:30 class. First class is free for AZ residents, so that was a no brainer. The class was awesome... I did get a full body workout in 30 minutes and it flew by! Sara and her husband Ryan were super friendly and also hands-on throughout the class to make sure everyone had proper form. They limit the classes to 10 people, which is nice too... and they keep the facility super clean. I'm so glad I found this fabulous business... If I lived in the area, I'd definitely consider a membership as members not only take classes but get 24/7 access to the gym. Since I'm further away, I'll make it a point to do drop-ins when the opportunity arises, ie: for future tournaments! Thanks again, Sara and Ryan!

I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.

I had attempted to lose the 25-30lbs id put on for ~2-2.5 years with zero traction. I would start enthusiastically, and when I didn't see ANY results, I'd either give up completely or take my foot off the gas considerably. Then wash. rinse. repeat. I was completely hopeless and frustrated with my self and my life. Enter underground fitness. I left my initial consultation with Dave feeling almost giddy (and. don't use that phrase lightly). Everything he said just clicked - for the 1st time in a long time, it felt not only possible but likely that I would be able lose the weight. And 9+ weeks in that feeling hasn't gone away. Thanks to Dave and my Trainer Tripp (honestly one of the most knowledgeable trainers i've ever met), and despite my newly discovered hypothyroidism, I've lost 3 inches off my waist, I have the confidence to take pictures with my family/niece and even been able to bring a few items of clothing out of retirement! And all this was possible without being forced to eat salads or protein shakes all day. Dave taught me how to be accountable for myself and my food. If I want dessert, and make sure I have it budgeted into my daily calories and I eat that dessert. He genuinely cares about his clients and his only goal is for your to reach your goals, and in the process teach you how to eat for the rest of your life. Honestly, could have easily gotten double the money out of me for the following 9 weeks program but because I was doing well with my nutrition, he moved me to a less hands-on 9-week program. And frankly, Just knowing that I know how to lose the weight and keep it off and that I won't have to deal with this issue again is pretty mind-boggling.

I'm sharing this for safety reasons…read more During a squat session a few months back, I told my trainer that my back was hurting during the squats. Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.
