Driven past this place a million times and wondered about it, but never inquired...until I was looking for local swim lessons for my little guy. Found this place, looked up the reviews, and decided to sign up. A couple years later, we have signed up for 3 Swim Lesson Sessions with them (1 Mommy & Me, 2 Toddler). All have been wonderful, although one of the toddler ones last year was cancelled on the 2nd day because their pool pump broke; they were prompt to refund us for the classes which was greatly appreciated, but bummed we couldn't do them. I love that they now have shade sails and misters over the bleachers where the parent sit during class; it helps tremendously during the Summer. The water is always super clean, but doesn't smell overly chlorinated. The instructors are young high school students for the most part and are really engaged with the kids. The bathrooms/locker rooms are clean, and offer private showers with shower curtains, changing areas and lockers that you bring your own lock for. I don't love the fact that this place has electronic doors out to the pool that don't always work and you usually find out by the pile of people standing there waiting to go out. Then you have to go through the locker room, which states you cannot go in there if your son is 5 years or older...which doesn't always work for the mamas who bring their kids there. There's only 2 "Family Rooms" where you can shower, use the bathroom, and wash your hands, but if someones taking a long time, you have to walk out with your wet kiddo. We have not come out for Open Swim, so we cannot speak to that, but for swim lessons, we love it. I would love to see a more competitive price for the swim lessons though; other community centers offer them for $15/20 and this was $49. read more

Today was our first visit here and it did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I felt safe with how well staffed the pools were. There were far more lifeguards here than at The Great Wolf Lodge. The lifeguards were observant, the place was very clean, and everything ran smoothly. There is a snack bar by the pool but food is not allowed in. The only thing you can bring in is sealed water bottles. No coolers or hydro flask type bottles. My children love this place. And the water park is really inexpensive for all the fun they have. I want to highlight the impressiveness of the lifeguards. There was some kind of emergency and they immediately evacuated the pool and all of the lifeguards sprang to action. Excellent job. Awesome swimming pool and gym! Did you know that FRAC has a year-round outdoor heated pool? I needed to find a pool to rehabilitate my back and knee.....arghhh, orthopedic issues! Anyway, I love swimming at this pool. At times, it is extremely crowded, count on sharing a line. Technically, a lane can have more than 2 but swimming in a circle is not very comfortable. I chose to wait. I have waited only twice and not for too long. They have 6 lanes. I swim on M-Th from 5:30 to 7:15 PM. I also swim on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 2 PM. They have morning sessions as well, but that doesn't work for me. They have a great walking track, racket ball courts, gym for basketball. They have water aerobics. They also host a variety of clubs. It is friendly for children, youth and adults. Check it out! They have day passes and monthly memberships. read more

I have been here twice and all two times I've felt safe here with my kids. They have a lot of lifeguards making sure everyone is following the rules so no one gets hurt. My son loves the kids area where he can go down the slide as many times as he wants! read more

So today was my first time taking my 3 little boys here. They're ages 5, 3 & 2. They loved it here as it has just enough to keep them busy and entertained, while also allowing me to keep an eye on everyone without worrying, like if I took them to wet N wild. There are two big slides for kids/adults 48" and taller, there is also a kiddy playground in the water with tons of spray fun and a slide on that for the younger ones. There is also a cute lazy river, and the boys and I enjoyed it. My 5 year old knows how to swim and he was over in the deep pool jumping off the diving boards as well. Which is located near the lap pools. We are not resident of Glendale so we had to pay $1 more per person I think... overall it was super cheap- around $13.50 for all 4 of us. My 2 year old was free. The hours are only 1-5pm during the week, which is ok with me, it gives my boys a good 4 hours to play and wear themselves out. On Saturdays they open at 11:30am I believe, and stay open until 7. They also have a pretty nice snack bar- lots of food and drink options as well as coffees. Yum! I had a dirty iced chai latte, I really liked it. Prices are fair for a concession stand and much less expensive than Wet N wild. You can even bring food and snack, you just have to keep them in a red locker before heading out. You must also be sure to eat in the concession area that is roped off. It helps keep the grounds clean. There isn't a bunch of trash all over because of this rule, which is great! I highly recommend this place if you want the water park fun but don't want to be overwhelmed by Wet N Wild. We plan on coming back tomorrow. This will definitely be a summer regular for our family. Today FRAC you disappointed again. ALWAYS the wimpy gym. Barely open. Closed on Sundays. Closed on every holiday they can come up with. Can't swim without life guards which last year were non existent. I didn't pay my Glendale taxes for this. It was nice when it first open. Open till 10pm! Yes. Any place that provides a service, produces a product, any school, any hospital, anything run by government is ALWAYS subpar. Vote out and complain about and petition as many government agencies that you can and let's get back to having the people run businesses. We the people!! We rented a room for a ceremony and the ceremony was to start at 5:30pm and end at 7:00pm. We showed up 45 minutes early to be informed that we were not allowed to decorate. If we need the room to decorate and want to go in early, they would not reimburse us our $200 deposit. We were told we would be charged $200 then they said the charge is an extra $100. Yet, the room was empty. The staff were not very friendly and were not willing to bend. They gave us an extra half an hour to clean at the end but charged us for arriving early. They provided us two projectors of which they were difficult to set up and we brought with us the correct cords as we called in advance for clarification on the equipment, . There was no IT person on staff to assist. The teacher ended up paying the $100 of which she works on a teacher salary. We held another event at a different place two days prior and we're given two hours to decorate without being charged extra and IT on site, We will not book here again. read more

I would highly recommend the Basketball Clinic with Coach Bradley! My 12 year old loved it so much he has taken the clinic twice! Coach is very knowledgeable and patient! I love to take the kids swimming here. They have open swim in the summer. Fun water toys, slides, diving boards, lap lanes and lazy river. You can buy sunscreen for 25 cents just in case you forgot yours. I wish they were open late for at least lap swims. Maybe even night lap swimming, at least in the Summer. read more

Good pool. Didn't use the rest of the facility but my kids enjoyed the pool. The only downside I was bothered with was the amount of little rules that made me feel like we couldn't just have fun. This fitness center is OK. The locker rooms are not nice. They are all concrete and dated. No sauna, steam room, or Jacuzzi. The lockers don't use keys so someone could steal your stuff. The pools are cold, and one water slide (the yellow one) catches on your bathing suit where the parts of the slide are connected. The other slide (the red one) is almost a straight down drop. Not good for chickens. The upstairs is for "VIPs only". It is a Silver Sneakers club, which I don't know what that is, but I heard it has a heated lap pool, and a sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi. Not fair!!! The inside of the center is FREEZING cold. I keep walking outside to the 115 degrees heat because it is that cold inside. I would recommend this place if you are OK with no luxurious amenities. read more

This place is pretty awesome! We came here for a friends birthday party. The pool area is so cool - it has a kids area with a wading pool, a play area where you can use water cannons to shoot at people passing by on the lazy river or people walking by. There are several slides for adults and little toddlers. There are lifeguards everywhere. I heard it's only $4 to come here...though water parks are a lot bigger (and more expensive), this place would be just as perfect. It's clean and not that crowded. Foothills has been my gym for years now. Feel very comfortable & at home with the crew as well as the others who show up to be better, healthier people. I just really hope the new management enlists the proper group to fix the sound system where others have failed. A boom box when you have a great sound system, we remember... And some of the crew allows the music to actually be heard and some turn it down to inaudible because they want to talk...really? Foothills, we've seen some walk to go to the "purple place" for whatever reason. I'm a bit more loyal & want to continue as a proud member. We came back after a few months off and when we went to start back up or membership the man at the desk didn't even greet us with a hello and a smile. I would NOT suggest going to this park! It took us a long time to check in as the people at the front desk were slow, even though there were 2 people in front. The moment we entered the lifeguards were bombarding us about small and unimportant things. The worst part was they had a live drill without telling anyone which involved a lifeless person floating the water. Everyone was crying and we thought the girl had died! We had my daughter's party here last year and things were not set up correctly for the room we used due to lack of communication on the manager's part. Also some lady came in and was stealing food, the staff knew who the lady was and said she is always there protesting and doing odd things. Excellent amenities for a reasonable price. Very clean. We came for the raquetball courts, and have used the fitness room and walking track as well. The hours are a tad limited compared to the large chain fitness enters, but it has worked out well for us. We are looking forward to trying out the lap pool and basketball courts! read more

I have commitment issues when it comes to gyms so this is the perfect set up. For a low charge daily charge or a member ship or a punch card you can choose how you want to use their service. I love their clean cool running track. You can run in circles until the cows come home with extra fans blowing and watching the bballers shoot the hoops below ! Perfect for exercising and beating the heat. They also have great free weights, Nautilus machines, running, biking elliptical and towing machines in well maintained condition. I love this facility! It's clean and bright. It has an indoor track, a good number of cardio machines and weight machines. It has an awesome indoor basketball court which sometimes gets used for extreme training and volleyball. It has a couple of nice aerobics room, plus a couple of racketball courts and a rock climbing wall to boot. I primarily joined so that I could lap swim. Unfortunately, they limit the times that the pool is open to 5AM - 7AM, 11AM - 1PM, and 5:30PM - 7PM - times when there's a lifeguard available. And during the summer, the pool is overrun with kids, and the afternoon lap swimming gets pushed back to 6:30PM start. to accommodate the local swim team. These times don't work for me. Also, during the summer time, it was close to 4 swimmers per lane. The teenage lifeguards don't impose the slow to fast lane designations and don't remind people to circle swim. I never got a good lap swim workout. But the pool is kept up impeccably, and the locker room is nice (except during the summer time when the kids make everything sticky) A great facility overall. read more
