I hired All Terrain Landscaping to install brand new irrigation in my front and back yards and dump some rocks in a bare spot in 2016. By 2017, there were leaks. Subsequent years saw a few leaks every couple of months. I suppose I should have asked what type of poly tube they were using but figured for the price (over $3k), they'd be using something of quality. I was way wrong. I have had to engage Sprinkler Doctors for each leak (and it's not just one at a time, it's several at a time) after giving up doing it on my own. It just became a burden. Every instance of Sprinkler Doctors coming out to fix the leaks, the tech invariably asks, "who installed this?" and "this tubing is cheap." Most recently, I had a tech come out to address more leaks and he flat out told me that the tubing they used was garbage and the installers should have or would have known that. My entire system needs to be replaced because now, with each leak fixed, another leak pops up a little further down the line. So if you want to have fun repairing leaks a year after install, go with this company! If that doesn't sound like a grand time to you, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. TL/DR: irrigation tubing should last about 10-15 years after installation if it's buried. Mine hasn't even lasted eight. Leaks began occurring the year after installation. read more

Adam is very detailed and keeps you in the loop every step of the way. Hi! I was referred to All Terrain and had one of their team members come over to do an initial walk through, talk about design concepts and ideas, take pictures to create a plan... all that went fine. However, that was the last I had heard from All Terrain, 3 weeks have now passed (they told me I would be contacted 1 week later to go over next steps). Very odd experience, as the job I was looking to complete was a fairly large project ($50-100K depending on numerous factors). My business will be going elsewhere. I also tried to follow up and call them to see if something odd happened, but no one answered their business line 2 days in a row.... Pass. read more

Disappointed. Poor materials and service. Do your search well before you hire this company. You'll save yourself a headache and money.

Four years ago I tried to save money on landscaping for a new home. Big mistake. Four months ago I searched for a quality landscaping service. Ultimately, I tentatively selected All Terrain Landscaping. Adam and Natalie came to the house on time, prepared and intent on honest service. I was immediately and pleasantly impressed. The design proposals and bid came and I was more impressed. They knew the terrain, drainage, water supply, plants and HOA limitations. It was a little more expensive but WORTH every penny - quality and service. During the project, All Terrain was on time, easy to work with and went the extra mile on design, watering, soil, pavers, granite and plants. Most pleasant, efficient, hard working crew who thoroughly cleaned at the end of each phase. Adam and Natalie followed up on every phase and instructed on maintenance and function. The desert and eco- friendly landscape is beautiful. Plants (even a large ocotillo) are green, flowering and thriving. I have owned several homes and used different landscapers over many years. We used Alll Terrain Landscape to do a major backyard project... We removed all of our lime stone and replaced it with travertine. We are on a half an acre and we did our patio, all of our walkways, all around our pool, a border around the grass area, as well as a picnic area. It was a huge project... Cost over $30,000. Initially the project went well. The best thing I can say about the project was the designer... She was super easy to work with, she listened, she checked into the project to make sure it was going smoothly. However, during the "process, before we ever even started the project, we were very clear with them that we had two issues that we needed them to work with us on. First, we do Animal Rescue so at the time we had eight dogs so we needed to make sure that we had access to the backyard for as long as possible so they could go outside to go to the bathroom. We also we're going out of town the weekend after the project started. We made it very clear that the dogs needed to have access to the backyard which meant that they needed at least a small part of the back patio so they could go out the dog door and we would fence off the rest of the area. It came to the time when we were going out of town and right before we left, they laid the travertine right up to the back door but it had not been grouted and could not be walked on. We called to express our frustration that we could not have been any more clear that we needed to have access to the patio for the dogs to get outside when we went out of town that weekend. They seemed completely unconcerned. The next issue was that on a Friday afternoon, they left all of their trash all over our front yard, left for the day, and were not planning on being back until the following Tuesday as that Monday was a holiday. I'm not talking construction materials... I'm talking about actual trash all over our front yard. I called them from the airport just before I was getting on the plane very upset about this telling them that they could not leave that mess all over our front yard, we have neighbors and we live in an HOA. Our project manager Adam refused to call me back and instead called my husband because Adam felt that I was too upset. Talk about sexist and disrespectful! That was in February. The project ended and we pointed out multiple areas where they they left their pencil marks that they used to mark cuts in multiple places all over the tile. We were told that was normal and the sun would just bleach that out... What?!?! You don't lay tile that has pencil marks all over it and if you do then you need to remove the pencil marks. The next issue was multiple large areas that they did not grout. They sent someone out to re-grout but still we had major areas that weren't grouted. They sent someone else out to re-grout again but still we have many areas without grout. They also spilled so much construction material into our pool. We had large piles of mortar that turned into cement all over the sides and bottom of our pool. I told Adam about this and he said our pool guy would just be able to brush this down. Nope, it was like cement. Our pool guy tried several times but couldn't get it off. So, I waited until the pool warmed up enough for me to actually get in the pool and again, this stuff was like cement, it could not be removed. I stopped calling Adam about this issue because he repeatedly blew me off and went directly to a supervisor at the office who finally sent someone out to clean it up. We had to drain our entire pool in order to get all this stuff off the bottom of the pool. So frustrating! Fast forward to now... Six months later and we still have many, many areas that have no grout. We have multiple areas that have grass and weeds that grow up through the tile because there should be polymer grout in the seams to prevent this from happening. We have cracked tiles. They made a cover for our pool basket but the cover sits up so high above the actual lid that covers the hole where the skimmer basket is that a child stepped on it and it broke in half from the weight. I called them on Monday to address these issues and I was told someone would come out on Thursday. It got to be mid day on Thursday and I didn't hear from anyone so I called the office and was told that they had talked to the project manager who said that they were going to wait until "sometime later in October" to come out and check these issues because it was "too hot". I kid you not... A landscaping company in the Phoenix area said that they would not come out and look at our issues because It's "too hot". It's in the low 100s upper 90s this week and next... What about that is too hot to come out and take a look at these issues? We paid over $30,000 for this backyard and the customer service has been ridiculous. I would not only not use this company again but I would not recommend them. read more

Incredibly frustrating experience! I'm only writing this review to help keep anyone from making the same mistake I did. If you love highly frustrating experiences, go ahead and hire this company. If you like to avoid agonizing frustration, move on and find another company. First, like I assume everyone else does, I researched dozens of companies for our tree removal project. After seeing all the misleading, great reviews for All Terrain Landscaping and Maintenance here on Yelp, I decided to hire them for our project... Tremendous Mistake! First, there were basic communication issues, such as not communicating until the very morning of, which day the work would take place. I called at 7am, asking for an update on the project and was told I would receive a call when they were expected to arrive. I have to put my dogs away and open our patio gate to let workers inside, so I definitely needed at least a few minutes notice, but I had no update whatsoever. Some workers decided to help themselves, climb over the wall, started cutting off large pieces of tree, and freaking my dogs out. I came out to ask them to stop so I could open the gate for them. No one spoke any English. Then I discovered, this was NOT the company I hired for the job! The company I hired for this project was All Terrain Landscaping and Maintenance. This was some second-rate tree company with a ONE-STAR average on Yelp! Completely unacceptable, as this was NOT the company I hired! Our HOA is so incredibly strict, we have to get approval for every company and need records of the companies we use or we could be fined. I had no idea if the company sent here to work was even insured, which could cause all kinds of problems we did not ask for. I was furious! To make it all worse, Adam from All Terrain Landscaping and Maintenance was such a disrespectful, unprofessional person to deal with, he had absolutely no care about this whatsoever. He tried to make this my fault! How could I be responsible for this? I couldn't even communicate with the workers because none of them claimed to speak any English. Then, to make this all so much worse, I arrived home after work to find a huge mess! Apparently, since the company I hired never even showed up to the work site that day, we now have to play the blame game of 'Who's Responsible for the cleanup?' which of course lands on me. I had to hire a clean up company to come do all the cleanup of my house/patio/yard, my neighbor's patio AND the mess in the common area, or I would be fined by our HOA. This clean up came from my own sweat and wallet. I have repeatedly contacted and discussed this with Adam, and he's such a prick, he doesn't care whatsoever, and refuses to accept responsibility. The original estimate I received from Adam listed 'Clean up' as one of the services they provided, so I assumed they were handling the cleanup, but instead I now had to pay twice for it. Now, we have bigger, legal problems to deal with. Again, I post this review as a warning to others. I truly hope you do not have to deal with the stress, expense, unprofessionalism and frustration associated with Adam and this company. Best of luck to you! read more

Thanks again Jeremy You know your trees !! Love the way the tree trim came out. I've got a lot of trees on the property. They all look great. Fruit trees to Palm trees. Jeremy was a no show to 2 more appointments he made to fix Bucks drip line work. When I needed 2 lines to trees Buck went 4 inches underground and just split the line so I would see 2 lines coming out of the ground. Half the yard has adjustable emitters half not, I have plants not getting any water. Adam is a stand up professional When I had a problem with some of the work that was done he sent out another man to fix the issues I had with the drip system. He apologized about the work that was done by 2 men that no longer work for his company. I am hard to please but I will be using All Terrain Landscaping for my work in the future. I had to do grading floor around our house for drainage issue and remove old tree stump from the ground. I got quotes from 6 different companies. All Terrain Landscaping gave me the most affordable quote. The process was very smooth and hassle free. Adam listened and communicated multiple times with me regarding my concern and goal of the project and applied every single little detail requested. Adam and his crews were on time on the project day, and they started the project right away at 6 am and finished everything before 12 pm. His crews were extremely professional. A week passed, then I received a voicemail saying I'd have a quote within 24 hours. 4 more days passed. Still nada. In a marketplace where there are literally hundreds of landscaping companies in the Valley, customer service and responsiveness to new business can set you apart. Or, set you back. However, All Terrain is the most professional, friendly, efficient and prompt company I've ever worked with. Adam came out and talked with us about our yard and I basically told him to do whatever he thought would look the best, because I read the reviews here and trusted that he knew what to do. I am SO glad I did! The yard was completely transformed from dust/dirt to a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing hardscape. I was amazed at how much everyone got done in only 8 hours (it took 6 men working to get that done). I had total confidence in everyone from Michelle who answers the phones to Adam, who came out so quickly to the hard workers that were so meticulous and professional at the job site. I would recommend All Terrain to anyone wanting to avoid the pitfalls of "cheap" or DIY projects. These guys are professionals. Cleaned up after themselves, and advised us on how to care for the yard. I will be calling All Terrain to maintain this beautiful yard and may ask about the back yard now! Update: unfortunately I had to adjust my rating after work was done because of the lack of aftercare and followup. Adam advised me to call once grass began to come up for treatment, which is essential when you don't put down landscaping fabric, as Adam suggested when he gave the initial estimate. We contacted all terrain among other companies to provide a quotation. They responded the fastest, and have met and exceeded all expectations. She gave me some tips for revitalizing my lawn and told me that I could try a do-it-yourself option as opposed to calling them out because it would be more costly! What??? Yes..you heard that right! He gave me advice on how to care for all of plants including my trees that I was sure was dying. I told him about the sprinklers that stopped working in our backyard. I did a complete renovation of my back yard including a new travertine pool deck, extending the pool deck, raised planter bed, new grass, a ton of softscape, grantite rock etc.... It boiled down to All Terrain and another company, i decided that i liked the small family aspect of All Terrain and they were able to come in at a lower overall cost than the other company. From start to finish Adam and Natalie were highly responsive, easy to work with, shared amazing ideas on space utilization and took the time to understand what was important to me and what i wanted. This allowed them to align my thoughts on paper and create an amazing, colorful, clean look to my backyard with the much needed added privacy from the 2 story house behind me. Its better than i could have imagined. We hired all terrain to do a complete install of our back yard at our new home. Natalie and Adam came out and did a complete design with us. Natalie has a great eye for detail and we felt that they understood what we wanted with what little description we gave. They offered tips and advice to take our design to fantastic levels. We had some close calls with weather and unexpected grading issues and Adam kept in contact all the way thru. What we appreciated the most was that Adam would always call and get final confirmation before starting a major phase of the project to ensure we were all on the same page which was huge relief.
