Jeremy took a look at my old falling apart roof and sent out the quote. After I reviewed it, I had a few questions that we spoke about over the phone. He also suggested I replace the weathered gable boards at the same time since later replacement would require extra work due to the new roof being already installed with drip edges partially covering these boards. The bards were in pretty bad shape and actually only 1x6 versus the stronger 2x6 they would install. I told them to go for it and they had a crew out the following week to get started. Everything came out great and its pretty amazing how much a new roof on a house changes the look. Will definitely be calling on them again for the next roofing project I have. Bret

They did discover more water damage than we had anticipated but our main issue was with the quality of work. Grout lines were messy, cuts were off, tile was laid incorrectly. They did redo most of the sloppy work at our insistence but I'm concerned that the work behind the walls and under the floor boards is as messy as what we see on the surface. In good faith I could not recommend this company.

I wanted to use a contractor who was familiar with the product and installed to James Hardie criteria and specifications. Starting with the sales person, Joe, he thoroughly explained what they would do for me. He was knowledgeable and personable. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The bid was higher than the others but after researching (ACAE) and speaking with Joe, I was convinced they were the company for me. In this case, you really get what you pay for. I was introduced to Josh, the Project Manager. Once again, very knowledgeable and personable. Very easy to work with and communicated with me on a daily basis. When problems cropped up, he was always there to offer suggestions on how to proceed. His crew, led by Nikolay with Rosty and Eugene, did amazing work. The workmanship is impeccable; the crew was very organized and professional. They always made the worksite safe and clean; leaving everything spotless when they left at the end of the day. I can't emphasize enough the quality of their work. It was just beautiful. The paint crew, led by Vladimir, once again did unbelievable work; totally transforming the appearance of an already exquisite job. Although color decisions were ultimately mine, Vladimir was always willing to offer a suggestion as to which color to use on a particular area. (I had selected four colors for the primary on the house, secondary for the house, trim and the doors.) These individuals collectively transformed my house (a basic ranch) into a home that I am proud to show off. In summation, I would highly recommend A Cut Above Exteriors if you want premium quality work on your home. He said his kids had removed it over the weekend. I offered my 36‑foot ladder so he could take a look. He leaned it against my gutter, which began to bend as he climbed, so I stopped him to prevent further damage. When I called the office, I was told he would call me back, which never happened. Overall, this was an unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend this company.

Within months of them having done this the roof started leaking around the chimney and, it was noted by a contractor doing a different project on my house, that the roofers had lifted the electric roof fan, disrupting the power but did not cap the live wires. When I called Stalcup about these concerns they sent 2 guys out to tar around the chimney and completely remove the fan (a decision not discussed with me) and patch the roof. More recently, in prep to put my house up for sale a pre-inspection check revealed the roof is prematurely at end of life. I called Stalcup to request that they honor the warrantee but they declined to do this instead, they sent a salesman to offer me a bid on a 50 year warrantee roof! There are too many reputable companies out there, do not risk your roof with Stalcup.
