Ok.. I've never written a review on a dentist before, but this place is horrible and parents need…read moreto be let known before they take their kids to a place like this. Yes, it has the toys and the videos you see on TV about them, BUT their care is impersonal, rushed, and not private at all. I say not private because 8 dentist stations are in two rows of four, back to back. So you see and hear what's going on in the chair next to you. The waiting room is the only area with toys, and their seats are too small to fit a bigger person, such as myself. To get X-rays you're standing with three to four other people and their families and it gets quite crowded around one doorway, especially if the person bringing in their kid has their significant other and/or other kids with them. Like I said, it's not private at all. The last time I took my son there, he was screaming at the top of his lungs because another kid beside him was, too, and it scared him. He has an appointment tomorrow, but I will NOT be keeping it. I'm on a waiting list to have my son see another dentist in the area.

As new patients, my oldest was able to be seen the same day I called to see if they were accepting new patients. The atmosphere was so inviting to both parents and kids. The bright colors, play area, movie playing, coffee/tea bar, water bottles, and friendly staff made the experience well worth my 5 star rating. While my oldest was being seen, the youngest was able to continue to play. This helped me be able to focus on my oldest needs. This was important because we didn't have an understanding as to why some of his teeth were discolored. Well, we finally got answers! Answers we could understand and images/paperwork to take home with us. What made it better, as we were checking out a cancellation for the next day happened and they offered us that slot for my youngest. So we saw them again with the same great service and care. Now that they have had their initial appointments, from here on out they will be able to be seen on the same day at the same time. Just one more way to make Mommin' easier.

The dentists and hygienists are fantastic with kids--patient, kind, and really good at making them feel comfortable. The office is always clean, and I like that they play movies above the chairs to help distract the kids during cleanings. The waiting area is also great, with a cute play space for kids and a TV to keep them entertained. We rarely wait long before being called back, which I really appreciate. They always give the option of fluoride instead of just doing it automatically, and at the end of the visit the kids get a toothbrush and floss, which is a nice touch. What stands out most is how they actually talk to the kids, ask them questions, and make the whole experience easy and calm. We've always had great experiences here and definitely recommend them.

There was a short wait for the dentist to come over after the cleaning was done. The dentist was friendly. No complaints regarding the service received. I did notice they didn't have items for the kids anymore. In the past, they had balloons and small toys for the kids to get.

Dr. Cangas is a veteran that understands the unique situation our community faces. It is obvious he takes pride in his profession. My son knocked his tooth out on a Friday night. Dr. Cangas came in at nearly midnight on a Friday night to take care of my son. The only thing he said was "Come to the office I will be there in 15 minutes." He did it with a smile and took care of my son during a very traumatic experience. Even called the next day to make sure he was doing well. It is humbling to know that there are people like this that are willing to take such good care of my family. My highest recommendation.

Dr. Cangas has a military backyard, highly educated and experienced; with that he was very patient, informative and friendly. Their location is convenient if you live in Moore County, located near the Olive Garden. Walking in, the office is themed with all things horse racing; a bright, cheery atmosphere and you literally can't miss the horse in the next room greeting your little ones as they come in for their visit. While waiting they can watch a movie, show or play a video game. This is definitely a family and child friendly establishment. At the end of the appointment, a nice touch Dental Derby has added is a reward system for your child if they have done well and have been following best practices for oral health. Little ones earn Derby Dollars, a neat way to reward them for keeping their teeth clean every time they come for a visit. If you have a special needs child, I highly recommend bringing them here as well, their experience will put a parent at ease, just be sure to let them know ahead of time. Also, a tip, if you want to save time, you are able to print new patient paperwork at home and fill it out there rather than do it in the office, saving you from be distracted and held up.
